Making Room for His Glory By Dr. Jerry Savelle (Sent 11/5/2010) Dearest folks, I would like to share this article written by a man of God. A man of great faith, humility and integrity called to be an apostle of our Lord Jesus whose impartation into my life by the laying on of hands on the 12th of September 2009 at approximately 2100hrs marked a turnaround from a waning struggle to victory. This man of God has walked this life of faith’s faithfulness for over 40years, and has seen unending and indeed quite dramatic results and testimonies, particularly in the Financial Favor of God in his own personal life and to those who come under the influence of his ministry. His name is Jerry Savelle.
God desires to visit with you. He yearns for a deep relationship with you everyday. If His presence was evident in your daily life, your world would drastically change. The people around you would get saved, healed and delivered. A few weeks ago, the Spirit of God said to me, “Let My glory in.” What is the glory? A practical definition for the word glory is the manifested presence of God.
God said, “Let My glory in.” The understood subject of this sentence is you. You let My
God is ready to do some things in the earth that we’ve been praying about and talking about. When are we going to see all of the things glory in.
that have been prophesied? There’s a sense of urgency with God and He’s saying you are not waiting on Me; I’ve been waiting on you.
In the Noah Webster 1828 edition dictionary the word let means to permit, to grant and to allow. I think it’s quite interesting that God is saying to us “Permit Me to manifest My presence in your midst.” He will not force anything on us. He’s given us a will. He’s saying, “Permit Me, allow Me to manifest My presence.”
The Noah Webster dictionary made some additional comments concerning the word let. In the imperative mode it expresses strong desire or wish. When God said to me, “Let My glory in”, He was expressing strong desire to manifest His presence in our midst as never before. God wants permission to manifest His presence. He wants us to allow Him to show up any time and every time He desires.
It can also be used in a command mode. A command mode would imply that there is a sense of urgency. God is saying with a sense of urgency to let His glory in.
When God called Moses to deliver His people out of the land of Egypt, He told Moses to say to Pharaoh, “Let my people go”. In that usage of the word let it was a command. God wanted His people to be free. It wasn’t His will that they were in bondage.
Let in the command mode would mean that you and I have a great responsibility. We have the responsibility to do whatever is required to let His glory in. Once God said to Moses, “Tell Pharaoh, let My people go”, it became Moses responsibility to do whatever was needed for that to become reality. The same is true with you and me today. Whatever we have to do to let His glory in, He now expects it from us.
God wants to manifest His presence in your home and in your everyday life. How much better will you deal with your finances, with family issues, or job issues if you get up in the morning and before you leave your house you have a few moments in the presence of God? It’s for our everyday lifestyle.
We have the responsibility to do whatever is required to let His glory in. The last definition of the word let is to free from any and all restraints or to remove any hindrances or obstructions. Whatever we are doing that would prevent His glory from manifesting itself in our midst, then that’s what He expects us to change.
Apparently something needs to take place in order for us to have the kind of encounters with God that He wants us to have. The truth is we hold the keys that unlock the door to experiencing encounters with God like we never have before.
Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
Righteousness is right standing with God. We got that when we made Jesus the Lord of our lives. In Matthew 6 Jesus tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His
righteousness. The Amplified Bible defines righteousness as God’s way of being and doing right. When you apply that definition here it reads, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for God’s way of doing things”.
Jesus says in this beatitude that those that hunger and thirst would be filled or satisfied (New American Standard). Whatever you were hungry for, you received. Whatever you were thirsty for, you obtained.
God will satisfy anyone who hungers and thirsts for Him in direct proportion to their hunger and thirst. The more hunger and thirst that I express to God, the more He will fill and satisfy me.
What’s your greatest desire today? What’s your deepest desire? If it’s something on the earth then you need to get your priorities in order. “I want to be a millionaire”. No, that shouldn’t be first. I want to know God. Paul said in Philippians that he wanted to become more intimately acquainted with Him. When that’s your desire, He’ll bless you financially. You won’t have to pursue finances. They will come on you and overtake you.
We’ve been more interested in pursuing the promises than the Promise Giver. When we hunger for an intimate relationship with the Healer, I can promise you healing comes. God never shows up and forgets His blessings. It’s all a part of who He is. It’s His character and nature.
Hunger and thirst represent physical necessities of life. Jesus’ analogy demonstrates that the things of God are to our spiritual life what food and water are to our physical life. We can not be spiritually strong without the things of God in our lives just like we can’t be physically strong without food and water.
A starving person is consumed with getting food. Nothing else will satisfy that person’s craving but food. They’re not easily distracted by anything else. They’ve got to have food and nothing else will satisfy. When you and I are starving for the things of God, nothing will distract us until we get what we’re hungry for. His presence in our lives is going to affect us in such a profound way that it’s going to cause a greater desire, a greater craving on the inside of us for more.
In James 4:8 it says, “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you”. That destroys the mindset that we’re just waiting on God. In that verse it is quite obvious He’s waiting on us. When we talk about His manifested presence or getting close to God, the Bible is very clear that
you can be just as close to God as you want to
be. God reacts to your action.
Moses understood the importance of God’s presence in his life. In Exodus 33:18 he cries out to God and says, “I beseech thee, show me thy glory”. How do we know that Moses is asking for the manifested presence of God? In verse 15 Moses said, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence”. He interchanges the word presence with glory.
Moses realized that without the presence of God in his life he could not fulfil his mission. He could not accomplish the task that God had given him and neither can we.
We can’t fulfil what God is expecting the body of Christ to do in these last days
It’s going to take more than just preaching. It’s going to take demonstrations of His presence. without the manifested presence of God.
In Luke 5, (Luke the physician who travelled with the apostle Paul records that) as Jesus was teaching, the power of the Lord was present to heal. Where we hear the preaching of the gospel there should be demonstrations of the presence of God. We’ve heard preaching. Now, we need to see something. If sinners would experience the presence of God, they would hit their knees and give their hearts to Christ.
There are times in your business, on the job, in your family, or in your finances that you just don’t know what to do. You can’t actually live the kind of life God wants you to live without His presence in your life.
Your Christianity would be dull if you never experienced the presence of God. The reason so many people walk away from Christianity is because all they have is religion. Christianity is a relationship not a religion. We are in partnership with God. If I’m in partnership with God, then He ought to show up.
In Acts 1:3, Luke again records, “To whom also he shewed himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs”. Peter preached the word and signs and wonders followed. God wants us to experience today those same infallible proofs that Jesus is alive.
Mark who also travelled with Apostle Paul on his missionary journeys around the Mediterranean regions of Europe records of Jesus’ disciples, in what has been divided into the 16th chapter of his gospel, that they went everywhere preaching the Gospel, the Lord working with them confirming the word with signs following. There has to be confirmation of the Word. We have to get to the place where there is a confirmation with signs following what we’re preaching.
In Acts 2:41 Luke records, “...and the same day, there were added unto them about three thousand souls”. Peter preached a bold message, but there were also infallible
If we had more infallible proofs, three thousand people being added to Christ in a day would be a drop in the bucket. proofs.
The manifestation of His presence caused those early apostles to become bold, more powerful witnesses and it had a tremendous impact upon those who heard them.
The glory of God along with the preaching of the Word will make a lasting impression upon those that witness it. Their lives will be changed forever and that’s why we must make room for His glory.
In Exodus 33:19 God told Moses, “I will make all my goodness pass before thee”. Moses didn’t say anything about wanting to see His goodness, but in the mind of God, you can’t have His presence without His goodness. You can’t have His glory without His goodness.
We’ve been asking God for prosperity, success, healing, deliverance and that’s all good, but if we’d been pursuing His presence more than those other things, we would have received all those other things in addition to His presence.
Some synonyms for the word glory are: the splendour of God, the magnificence of God, the grandeur of God, the majesty of God, and the beauty of God .
When
we say, “Show me your glory”, we are saying, “Show me your splendour, magnificence, grandeur, majesty and beauty”.
When we say, “Show us your glory”, we’re asking for something huge. We’re asking for something big. God is committed to showing us if we show Him we’re truly hungry for it.
God is not holding out on us. We’re not waiting on God. God is waiting on us.
When the splendour, magnificence, grandeur, majesty and the beauty of God come on the scene, people’s lives are drastically changed.
You might be thinking, I could get into this so much easier if I didn’t have all the problems I have right now. I want revival and I want to experience this freedom that you’re talking about. I want to get lost in His presence. I’d love to be able to do that, but you don’t understand what I’m going through.
In other words, when the conditions are perfect, you’re going to get your act together. When have you ever known a day in your life when the conditions were perfect? If you’re waiting for all the conditions to be perfect to get into this, it’s not going to happen.
Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee”. The first word in that verse is arise. The understood subject of the sentence is you. It carries the same implications as let My glory in. God is putting the responsibility on us.
Arise means to revive oneself, to spring up, to get into action and to become excited. In the Wilson Old Testament word study the word arise means to rouse oneself which literally means to shake oneself out of a state of idleness. You can’t be idle spiritually and expect to see greater manifestations of God. If you let His glory in, then your conditions will change.
Jesus is looking for people who will worship Him with a pure and sincere heart. 2 The presence of God is directly linked to true worship.
Chronicles 5:13 says, “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD”.
Real praise and worship has to do with you expressing to God how good you think He is to you. God enjoys hearing His people tell Him He has been good. He is good and His mercy endures forever. Apparently true praise and worship not only has to do with us expressing to God how good He’s been to us but also expressing to Him how deeply grateful we are for His mercy.
If it wasn’t for mercy there’d be no forgiveness. How often do we thank God for our
He likes to be reminded of how grateful you are for what He’s done in the past. salvation or for the baptism of the Holy Spirit? These are all connected to worship.
Praise is connected to thanking God for His goodness and for His mercy. God is looking for a true attitude of thankfulness. Forget about your problems, your needs and just worship God. The Bible clearly shows that when God’s people do this, the glory always manifests.
Psalm 18:3 says, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies”. The praise came first and being saved from his enemies followed.
In Psalm 22:3 it says that God inhabits the praises of His God will abide, dwell, and make His abode in you when you praise Him.
people.
We cannot accomplish our mission today in this dark world that we’re living in without manifestations of the presence of God. The world needs to see undeniable proof of a resurrected Savior.
God wants to manifest His presence in our lives and in our homes more than we’ve ever experienced before. Don’t allow the pressures of today to cause you to miss out on this visitation from God.
His presence first, then everything else we need will follow. Don’t miss out on what God wants to do in the earth today!

“...You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father...” – Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:13 – 16) New Living Translation
