The people are amazing, both at the university and in the community, and they make me feel comfortable. It’s a great community and I think Cookeville is a great place to raise a family.” Zelenock’s previous responsibilities at CMU included scouting future opponents and acting as the program’s recruiting coordinator. In the gym, he was in charge of outside hitter development/training. “The big change is that now I am the final say in recruiting, lineups and other aspects,” he said. “The wins and losses are in my name now, so that’s a little different.” During his six seasons at CMU, the Chippewas forged five winning seasons and a 107-78 overall record. In 2007, his first season on the staff, Zelenock’s scouting abilities helped CMU to its first 20-win season since 1985 and first postseason victory in 25 years. The Chippewas won 20 straight sets over the course of eight matches midway through the season. In 2008, the Chippewas missed their second straight 20-win season by the slimmest of margins (19-11). CMU posted its fourth straight winning season in 2009, and reached the MAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 1996. The Chippewas tallied postseason victories over Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois to reach the semis. The 2011 CMU team ended a 33-year drought

as the Chippewas won the Mid-America Conference championship and earned the school’s first trip to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. Individually, during his six seasons on the staff, Zelenock saw seven CMU players earn all-MAC honors as well as two capture all-freshman awards. During his time as a student-athlete at CMU, Zelenock was a four-year starter for the men’s club volleyball team. He served as captain for three seasons, club president for two years and was a coach for two years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from CMU in 2005 while majoring in physical education with a minor in secondary physical science. Zelenock and his wife, Jamie, have two sons, Jacoby and Zander Lee.

KYLE GAMBLE COACHING EXPERIENCE Tennessee Technological University Assistant Coach, 2017-present University of Tulsa Assistant Coach, 2011-14 McNeese State University Student Assistant, 2010-11 EDUCATION McNeese State University Bachelor’s in general studies, 2011

Kyle Gamble was added to the Tennessee Tech coaching staff as an assistant in July 2017. He joins the Golden Eagle family after a short hiatus from the coaching field, however, he is hungry to get back into action and help develop the purple and gold program. “I’m excited to join the staff,” Gamble said. “Dave has put together a great staff, and I am excited to be a part of a great university and team. I am also looking forward to continue getting experience coaching at the Division I level.” Most recently, Gamble was an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa from 2011-14. He served as a recruiting coordinator for the team, dealing with video exchange, scheduling, running practices and reporting stats. Prior to that, Gamble served as a volleyball student assistant at his alma mater McNeese State University from 2010-11. “Kyle is an interesting one because technically I’ve known him since I was 13,” head coach Dave Zelenock said. “His dad is a head coach in our conference (Terry Gamble of Jacksonville State) and has been coaching collegiately for a long time. Kyle was a huge part of Tulsa being in the top 25. He’s been away from the game for a little while now, but he’s ready to get back in it and we were very happy to give him that chance. Hopefully he can bring some of that mid-major magic to Tech.” Gamble graduated from McNeese State University in 2011, where he earned his bachelor’s degree

in general studies with an emphasis on sports management. He currently resides in Cookeville, with his wife, Reagan, and his son, Matthew.

SHERISA LIVINGSTON COACHING EXPERIENCE Tennessee Technological University Assistant Coach, 2017-present University of Antelope Valley Head Coach, 2015-16 Seattle University Assistant Coach University of Nebraska-Lincoln Volunteer Assistant Coach EDUCATION University of Wisconsin-Madison B.A. History, 2003

Sherisa Livingston joins the Tennessee Tech family as an assistant coach in July 2017 after serving as the head coach at the University of Antelope Valley from 2015-16. “I am super excited to join the Tennessee Tech family,” Livingston said. “I didn’t want to go to a program that was already established because I wanted the opportunity to add my mark to the program. There is so much potential here at Tech. After talking with the players and coaches, it is really comforting to know that I have a place and a voice here.” Prior to Antelope Valley, Livingston served as an assistant coach at Seattle University and a volunteer assistant coach at the University of NebraskaLincoln. She also played professionally for various clubs worldwide from 2002-13 after her four-year career as an athlete at the University of WisconsinMadison. Livingston had a stellar collegiate career. She helped the Badgers win two Big Ten titles with four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the 2000 NCAA championship match. A threetime All-Big Ten and four-time AVCA All-Region selection, Livingston became the first Badger to earn first team All-America recognition, which she accomplished twice. She left Wisconsin with the Badger career records in kills (1,912) and hitting percentage (.361). Livingston was inducted into the University of Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. She was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team in 1998

and 1999, including being named the best blocker at the 1999 World Junior Championships. “Sherisa is a huge steal for us,” Zelenock said. “She was an All-American at Wisconsin and then played professionally all over Europe for 10 years. After that, she coached in Nebraska and became an NAIA head coach. But you know, head coaching just isn’t for everyone. She felt more comfortable in an assistant role and we were very happy to let her come back to her comfort zone of being an assistant. I think both of our assistants could be head coaches, so to be able to bring two people like that in, I think we are on a really good path.” Livingston graduated from Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is currently in the process of earning her master’s degree from the American Public University System in sport management.
