BOLD

“The amount of clubs and leadership opportunities offered at Tech allowed me to expand my resume outside of the classroom and office. The chemical engineering department at Tech provided me with the knowledge and the connection to companies, allowing me to earn a job after graduation.” Ashley McGowan Former Captain of the Golden Eagles Softball Team, Chemical Engineering, Alumnus

“I started working with the innovation and entrepreneurship committee (at Tech). That committee is involved with all kinds of different things like Eagle Works and Rural Reimagined. Basically, my work with that committee involves recruiting students from different populations to get involved in activities. You can’t really be hurt by putting yourself out there. Being an undergrad is one of the greatest opportunities that you have to put your resume out there and just get involved in different things.” Mik Davis Communication, Alumnus

FEARLESS

“Choosing to come to college as an athlete was important to me. I think it’s important to push yourself outside of, for me personally, crossfit. Furthering my education does that for me. I knew that I wanted to stay here, and Tennessee Tech fit all of the checklists that I needed for school, so I knew it was a great fit for me. I really liked how nice the campus was and how close it was to everything and how convenient it would be for me to be able to train and then get back to school pretty fast. All around, it really is just a great campus.” Haley Adams Biology, Student

“If I could give advice to anybody with disabilities coming to Tennessee Tech, it’s definitely go on a tour. Get familiar with the campus. Everyone involved on campus who’s working is such a joy to communicate with and work with.” Hannah Willis Psychology, Student

“I served as student body vice-president and then had an amazing team behind me who helped me as student body president. My vision for Tennessee Tech students this year is that they know that people are in their corner to help them out, and there is always going to be a voice for them. I want people to have the most amazing experience because thankfully, I have had an incredible one.” Brad Sells Biology, Alumnus

CONFIDENT

“I love math, but it isn’t something everyone enjoys. So, I decided to make it mine, and I have found the right people in the College of Business at Tech to help me.” Destiny Mayes Accounting, Student

“I really do enjoy being able to find a challenge and conquer it. Plus, I have so much encouragement at Tech to do well.” Rebekah Preshong Chemical Engineering, Student

CAREER

“One of my accomplishments here at Tech is to show millennials that you are never too old. You’re never too old to accomplish anything. And really, you can be just as hip at 70 as you can at 20.” Sherry Chaffin Communication, Alumnus

“Tech does very big work with accessibility. In some countries and other universities, they don’t have this level of accessibility that Tennessee Tech has right now.” Vadim Kholodilo Computer Science, Student

TENNESSEE TECH’S VISION: Career-ready graduates known for their

“This internship provided me with one of the best semesters I have had. While I missed being on campus, I really enjoyed being handson in Nashville. I would say that my legislative internship is one of the building blocks for my professional future, and I am very thankful that I was allowed the ability to grow professionally and make so many great connections.” Zach Stephens Political Science, Alumnus

“My favorite thing about Tech is being a part of the different clubs on campus. I have had the opportunity to be a tour guide, ROTC, NAACP, as well as Alpha Kappa Psi. So getting to meet different people and being in different clubs is one of the best parts.” Mikeidrea Feacher Psychology, Alumnus
