Get Back Into The Trees In 2010, inspired by the Ewok Villages of Star Wars and the notion that trees could be best protected by having people live in them, architect Alex Shirley-Smith strung up a prototype of a portable treehouse in his living room. After his designs went viral online and piqued the attention of the World’s media, he began developing a range of Tree Tents - introducing Tentsile and their now iconic flagship design, the “Stingray”, to the market with great critical acclaim. From there on the team expanded the range to include a variety of award-winning hammocks and portable treehouses, designed for every type of adventure imaginable – from solo exploration to family days out and backyard camping. Everything Tentsile does is about saving trees and inspiring others to love trees too. Stealth This model boasts three separate entrances, one on each side of the tent. Each occupant has their own generous hammock berth, storage space in the central Tower Shelf and ability to modulate ventilation in their area of the interior cabin. The three adjustable hammocks inside can be further separated or combined using the underfloor strap-system with a simple loosening or tightening of the seat belt strap. The interior is completely insect proof, rain proof and UV resistant, made from no-see-um mesh and easily covered by our clip-on 3000hh rainfly. The whole roof can also be fully removed to leave an uncovered, reinforced Trillium Fabric floor for unobstructed views of the trees overhead.

For every tent purchased we make a donation to plant three trees with our partners: Arbor Day Foundation, Eden Projects, WeForest and 1% For The Planet. So far we have supported the planting of over 425,000 trees in projects located across Madagascar, Zambia and Oregon. Follow our #BecomeOneOfTheMillion campaign and keep up with our progress as we work with each of these organisations to plant 1 Million trees over the next 5 years.
Where we make them When we invented a new category of product, the Tree Tent, we found that existing tent factories simply couldn’t produce at the high level of quality and strength that we needed. After all, we understand that if you are going to suspend your family off the ground in the great outdoors, you want to guarantee their safety. So, what did we do? We made our own workshop! The Tentsile Workshop is the backbone of our operations. We have an expertly trained team of employees in place, who all understand the importance of rigour, integrity, and attention to detail - so we can ensure that every single Tree Tent they make is produced to the highest possible standard. Our Workshop premises are second to none – beautifully designed, and a pleasure to spend time in (much like our Tree Tents!). We are a family company and foster a family atmosphere in every corner of our business, so we truly value our Workshop staff as a vital part of our global team.
