Obituary
Mrs. Vivian Ann Hollins (her church family called her Mama Hollins; longtime friends called her Viv; relatives call her Aunt Susie or NaNa) was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 27, 1944 to the late Julius and Charity Jones of Mobile, Alabama (Down the Bay). She attended school at Council Elementary School, Mobile Alabama; Dunbar Junior High School, Mobile, Alabama and Central High School, Mobile, Alabama class of 1962. She continued her education at 20th Century Business College. She married Willie Hollins on 28 December 1963 in Mobile, Alabama. Vivian was a very beautiful person who enjoyed talking to any and everyone as well as good listener. She was raised Methodist and dedicated her life early in serving God at Emanuel AME Church, Mobile Alabama under the leadership of the late Reverend Dee. In High School she loved singing and opera was her focus. Also, she enjoyed intermural softball where she normally was the pitcher and league bowling. While traveling around the world, she would work on and off military bases in the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Japan, and Korea. Most importantly, she loved cooking (Gumbo and Fruitcakes was her signature specialty). Vivian continued working and retired from banking in mid-90’s. Mama Hollins moved to Pensacola, Florida where she was baptized and became a member of First Baptist of Warrington, Pensacola, Florida under the leader of Pastor James H. Miller Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and Julius “Cricket” Jones (brother), Bertha Jones (adopted sister). She is survived by Deacon Willie Hollins Jr (husband); Willie Hollins III (son), Chandra D. Hollins (daughter); Carlos Allen (grandson); Chanise Allen (granddaughter); Robert Jones (Yolanda) (brother), Church children (she loved her pastor and church), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved, very much.

A Tribute to My Wife Still I hear those voices from a time so long ago. I see so many faces, but not the one I love and know. I walk the same old streets, hear your footsteps just the same. How I'd love to wake tomorrow, and walk with you once again. Just to look into your eyes, and tell you about my day. It's those little things I miss, since the day you went away. I now pray to God in heaven, to keep you in his care, To comfort you and heal this hurt, until the day I meet you there.
Deacon Wilie Hollins, Jr.
A Tribute to My Mother If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, Place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away. Daughter ~ Channdra D. Hollins
A Tribute to My Mother
God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine. And He molded her heart of pure gold; In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, In her cheeks fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to me. Son ~ Willie Hollins III
I’m blessed to call you sister, I also call you friend; You’ve loved me unconditionally, And stood through thick and thin. You’ve shared my joys and sorrows, My laughter and my tears. You’ve been my inspiration, As we grew up through the years. When we were little children We laughed and played together; Then growing up you stood by me, Through good and stormy weather. There’s something God has given us, That’s more than family; He’s placed a love for you, my Sister, Deep down in the heart of me.
