EVEN AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS As I reflected on the closing of one year and the dawning of another, one of the things that I made certain to do was to acknowledge all the things that I had accomplished. I wanted to make sure that I celebrated having dreamed big, working towards those dreams, achieving some goals and failing at some others. I celebrate relationships lost and for new ones found, I celebrate life.

ith today’s economy, it’s even more important than ever to be a savvy shopper. This does not mean give up on the joy that shopping brings. Simply put, be smart about what you purchase. For starters, plan shopping trips. Try to limit impulse purchases. Before you go grocery shopping, don’t you make a list? Why would shopping for apparel be any different? Begin by assessing your wardrobe. What are some weak areas the need to be addressed? Are you a creature of habit and wear the same 10 garments or so, simply because you haven’t found the right piece to compliment other pieces in your closet? Do you generally wear the same few colors? Make a list of items in your closet you would like to wear, but don’t because it is missing something. This is a perfect opportunity to get rid of pieces that you hardly wear or know you won’t wear. For every item you add to your closet try to remove an item. This will help to eliminate excess items in your closet and you can either, donate unwanted items, sell them to a consignment shop or online, or even better; swap them with a girlfriend. Also, when shopping, avoid buying duplicate items in different colors. Most occasions don’t require uniforms, so please resist the urge. Next, even if you don’t feel up to it at the time, try on items in the store. Garments never look the same on the hanger or mannequin as they do when you put them on your body. It’s also best to shop uninterrupted; this allows you to think clearly and practically about your purchases and helps you to stick to your budget. Instead of going over-budget, prune your pieces down to your must-haves and save other items for your next shopping trip. Lastly, don’t forget accessories. Accessorizing is the most inexpensive way to spice-up your existing wardrobe. Remember, whatever look you choose, when stepping out, wear the clothes; don’t let them wear you! COMMAND YOUR YEAR! Life coach DaRhonda Williams
T
Get what you deserve this year
here comes a time in all of our lives when a command is necessary. In order to have a successful year, you must believe that you are worthy and ready to express what has been placed inside of you. When you live less than the best version of yourself, you leave the world with a deficit because your gifting is unique and cannot be duplicated in human nature. Command by definition, means to rule, have authority over, or to decree. Only you have the power to create, control, design, and bring to existence every facet of your life, but first you must release your control and accept what God has planned for you every day. You made that choice when you spiritually opened your life to God through His Son. When you are going through challenges, glory in knowing that you are joint-heirs with Christ, walking in the steps and journey of the ultimate King. Your ability to command the year to be subject to your dreams and to respond in your health, life, marriage, work, business, home, and wealth is your God-given right to possess. Trust your steps, your light and your instincts, then press pass what you want, to command ALL that God wants for you. Here are ten suggestions to help you get what you deserve this year.

GUIDE
Getting Off on the Right Foot New Year Financial Resolutions Here you are, starting off another year with a financial picture less than what you’d hoped for. You may be wondering, with a sense of puzzlement, how you ended up in the same situation once again. To make this year different and to get you headed in the right direction, here is a list of five New Year’s Financial Resolutions - small things that can help you make better, smarter financial decisions, both for the coming year, and hopefully for the rest of your life.
Financial Resolution 1: Learn One New Thing About Investing Education is empowerment. As you learn more, you will naturally make better decisions. You should open your mind to be open to change. Just as you nurture your spiritual life, you should nurture your financial well-being. If you are not sure where to start, here are a few ideas: • Take an online investing class. • Read a book on investing or finance. • Subscribe to a financial publication, and read several articles in each issue. • Take part in financial webinars and seminars. • Volunteer to teach a financial class to young adults at your place of worship or youth center.
Financial Resolution 2: Make Your Own Personal Financial Statement If you wanted to lose weight, you’d have to weigh yourself right? Well, if you want to get rich, or become financially free, you have to create personal financial statements. You are a business. You have money come in and you have money going out. You have things that you own and things that you owe. But if you don’t have a way to measure progress and compare what works and what doesn’t, then you are just wandering blindly in the dark. The thing to remember is that something magical happens when you start to measure your progress with a personal financial statement. Your success rate goes through the roof. Remember, if you aren’t looking at your financial health each month, then the chances of you blindly stumbling upon wealth one day are not high.
Financial Resolution 3: Spend More And Invest More In evolving my financial mind as an adult, I've learned and often refer to the “investment mentality” when describing people who are able to manage their money so that it renews itself and is not squandered away. Good examples of spending with an investment mentality include: · Buying assets that will generate more money or grow in value, such as a property to rent out, stocks and shares or specific tools with which to undertake a trade. ·
Setting up a business or creating opportunities for promotion and advancement.
·
Looking at each purchase and question ‘why’ it is needed.
Financial Resolution 4: Invest In Yourself Have fun! Whether you are improving your career skill sets or upgrading your look, investing in yourself always pays off. As an example, invest time and money to learn new skills and experiences, such as taking an evening course and putting yourself forward for opportunities at work. There are loads of books and articles on the internet or library that can help you invest wisely in yourself.
Financial Resolution 5: Find The Right Financial Mentor or Coach All of us make money, save and invest it. We worry about our investments, liabilities and cash flow. However not each of us may be equipped to handle our finances in the most efficient manner. It always helps to have a financial advisor guiding you along the path. When it comes to financial advice, you get what you pay for. The wrong financial advice, whether it comes from your brother, your cousin, or friend, could be
costing you thousands of dollars a year or a rosy financial future. Even if you prefer to do things yourself, the occasional check up from an advisor who charges hourly fees may provide you with some valuable tips. A financial planner can help give clarity to your situation, plan your retirement, set goals, and work with your attorney, tax advisor, and insurance professional to help you make the most of your money. Take heart; it may take more than a year to get through all five resolutions, so start with just one. Take the time to think about what you could have done differently in 2011, so at this time next year, you will look back with a renewed sense of accomplishment and pride. The important thing is that it’s a new year. Be cautious about setting too many goals or objectives for 2012 that may be unrealistic and are forgotten by Valentine’s Day. Take this opportunity to revisit these areas of your financial life and decide what changes need to be made in order to make sure your money is truly working for you. Aaron W. Smith, RFC, is the president of AW Smith Financial Group (www.awsmithfinancial.com) and author of In the Black: Live Faithfully, Prosper Financially—The Ultimate 9-Step Plan for Financial Fitness

kingdom?’ He replied, “None is good but God, the kingdom is within you.” In his book, Power to get wealth: No Money required, Keith believes that many people spend their whole lives chasing after wealth; ie, cars, houses, money, when everything that they need as a human being is already inside of them. “The misperception that wealth is based upon how many things we have is a trick from Satan. When we look outside of self, we are limited to what we see. The more knowledge, wisdom and skills you acquire, the more you expand your self-worth. If you know who you are and whose you The disciples asked Christ, ‘Good are, you are wealthy.” Keith derives, Master, how can we see the there are seven keys to unlock the
wealth within you. He will share these keys with HARVEST readers each month. “The enemy tries to keep us distracted. If we look outside more than we look within we will be tricked every time. 5 Tips to Help You Stay on Budget Did you know that getting your finances in order is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions each year? Well, of course you knew… because that’s usually one of your resolutions. This year I’m determined to help you get one step closer to financial freedom with my 5 Tips to Stay on Budget this year.
GET AN ALLOWANCE: I bet you never thought you’d get one again. Create your budget, decide which items you can pay for with cash each month, add up the amounts, and then divide the total by 4. That’s how much your new weekly allowance is. If you make weekly cash allowances, it will help to curb your spending and stay on budget. When the cash is done, so are you…
OPEN A BILLS ACCOUNT: Separate your bil money from the rest of your funds by using a BILLS account. Open a free checking accoun and weekly/bi-weekly/monthly place money for your bills here to insure that you don’t “accidently” spend it.
AUTOMATE: By taking out the “flawed” human element, aka you, you’re more likely to stick to your budget. I’ve automated EVERYTHING bills, saving, investing, and even my offering to church.
SET A GOAL: Just like it makes no sense to ge on a plane without knowing where you’re going it makes no sense to create a budget without a goal in mind.

GIVE: Giving activates abundance in your life. When one gives, you let God know that you’re aware that He has provided and will continue to provide you with more than enough.

Exclusive interview with Editor-in-Chief Teri Washington
Whether it’s the thousands of people whose lives are transformed as a result of her powerful teaching and success coaching, the hundreds who benefit from her life-changing university curriculum, the handful of girls in India who now have a home thanks to the Edna Trimm House of Hope, or the many, many people who are recipients of Dr. Trimm’s goodwill through The Trimm Foundation’s initiatives across the world, Dr. Cindy Trimm is quickly becoming one of the most critically acclaimed life strategists and leaders in business, government, education, community development, and Christian ministry.
I caught up with Dr. Trimm right before the holiday's to ask her what was God speaking to her heart concerning the body of Christ for the year 2012. Well. if you have ever had the pleasure of hearing her speak you know that there is indeed a word from the Lord.
Dr. Trimm: God has called me to be an empowerment specialist and a catalyst of change. My perspective is the Kingdom and everything that I do is driven by one thing and that is, biblical wisdom is influence which gives success; and that knowledge is power and freedom. This is very important because the bible says thou shalt know the truth and the truth shall set you free. We live in a world that is characterized by propaganda and there is a difference between truth and propaganda, truth tells facts with the right intention the right context and with the right motive. Propaganda twists facts; it tells the facts with a twisted motivation and intention. The intention is what is so important. When Jesus
spoke the truth, His intention was to help people discover purpose, maximize potential and to restore a broken severed relationship back with God our creator and heavenly father. I believe when truth is told and lives are liberated then, what we restore is dignity. We restore hope back to the nation and the beautiful thing that Jesus Christ preached is a message that gives hope to all humanity. He died for all humanity. He died for everyone; the black, the white, the skin head, the blue, the green, the atheist. I believe that this is the season that the church is going to lift up our voice and God is going to restore our identity and we truly our going to be a voice of hope for all humanity.
”
C
indy Trimm is dedicated to weaving her global leadership expertise together with profound spiritual insights to create a tapestry of common, practical wisdom that gives the world a new perspective on faith and empowerment. She continues to “heal the world one soul, one situation, and one success at a time.”
This is going to be the year of acceleration because God is going to give strategies.
”
2012 The year of
Divine Government The church can be broken up into several categories, number one those that are church goers, they're Christians, they put their faith on display, and they are believers. Then you have those that are disillusioned, they are disenfranchised they are believers, but are disillusioned with what’s going on. Then you have the seekers, these are individuals who are a part of the church, they may not be converted, but they are good people. Lastly, there are those that are outside of the church looking on, these are individuals that maybe non-religious, but they are God fearing individuals. They are like the seekers but they are not coming to church. I believe that this is the time when we are really going to hear the voice of God very very clear. God is going to empower people to live and lead an authentic Christian life as light and salt in the world. The bible says, we are the salt of the earth, but the salt has lost is savour (Matt 5:13), which means that it has been cast aside and trampled upon. People have discounted us (Christians), because they believe
we have lost our identity. I believe in 2012, you are going to see the restoration of the identity of believers and this is going to affect humanity.
When I got rid of religion I found God, and that’s what people want. They want God. They don’t want all the religiosity that goes with it. They don’t want all the religious calisthenics that goes along with it and they are very serious about it. Twelve is the number of divine government; I believe we are going to see the government of God established. “For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders (Isaiah 9:6).” The church is the extension of the government of God. If Christ is the head of the church then we are his body and the shoulders are a part of the body. We will see the divine government of God established.
Acceleration Jesus spent a lot of time alone. He would go off alone and He would pray and when He came out of His prayer closet or prayer time, He worked miracles, He walked on water, He was able to defy aught. Propaganda says that there is a dimensioning of finances, that somehow the world has less finances so therefore we have less accessibility, that is not so. Recession simply means that money is changing hands. God said “He would bless the work of your hands” (Deut 16:15). I am encouraging believers everywhere to get out of earth’s chat room and enter God’s throne room and have a conversation with God. Take some me moments, time alone with God to hear Him and do this every single day. (You will
see) He will give instruction and strategies. This is going to be the year of acceleration because God is going to give strategies. God gave Joshua strategies on how to tear down the Jericho wall. He gave Esther a strategy to deliver His people; He gave Jacob a strategy, and Abraham and Moses strategies. We will be accelerated in our work because God is going to give us strategy.
to conduct workshops throughout the year to empower leadership. Those that are decision makers and policy makers and believers, and are looking for a compass to understanding what God is doing. I will dedicate the rest of my life to empowering movers and shakers and to give them the tools and the strategies that are biblically based so that people can be successful in leadership.
Kingdom Initiatives
Strategic Relationships
I believe we (the Kingdom) are going to do some great things, like even with this magazine. You are able to empower and encourage and you are doing it in a positive light. We will see more Kingdom initiatives, (like this) not only in the faith based, but in the marketplace as well.
Finally, 2012 will be the year of strategic relationships. Strategic relationships are when we are networking with individuals. Everything rises and falls on relationship. The greatest relationship that we can establish is a relationship with God and then a relationship with ourselves to know who God made us to be. And of course a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, who will lead us and guide us into all truth. I have initiated a 52 week coaching program http:// timminternational.com. I believe that we not only need mentors but we need coaches. So many people live their lives on trial and error. They hold their lives together with bubble gum and shoe string. I always say, a leader is someone who is able to help people discover purpose and maximize potential. They are the ones who raise the bar. So many people have trade secrets, things that they can share and yet they hold them close to their heart- therefore we struggle. One of my assignments is to help people find those strategic relationships, establish them and then help those people do something great in their lifetime. I don’t want to live on this earth and for two weeks people cry about my death and the next generation doesn’t know I existed. I want to leave my mark and leave my dent but, not only mine I want to help others leave their mark and their dent also.
Dominion Dominion is not just your right to rule, but it is when an individual knows who they are in God and they express that. (It is when) you maximize your potential, and you realize your purpose; you are fulfilling your assignment and mission within a set time frame.
Divine Intention We are going to be able to pray, touch the heart of God and tap into His mind and His intention and bare the problems that are plaguing the earth. I want to encourage individuals; believers that are doctors, lawyers, innovators, and technologist. And to those believers who are CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s, CIO’s; God has placed you in that position because He wants to use you. We are to pray for God’s intention for Him placing us there. Why did you put us there? Then we are to rise up. I feel led to initiate these high levels of conversation,
Even as your Soul Prospers
The 40 day Soul Fast book and Journal is the ideal way to command your year. Dr. Trimm declares, "40 is the number of restructuring after the 40 days you are going to come out with clearer vision, instructions from God, cleansed along with the ability to overcome anti-god, anti-destiny, and anti-purpose." "It’s not about what we are eating it’s about what’s eating us. Once we are able to remove the viruses of the mind and the cancer of the soul, we will discover that when God created man he created man as a soul man. Your soul is the seat of your rejected consciousness. It houses your mind your will and your emotions. If we can heal the souls of humanity, we can potentially heal the world. If we focus on our souls it will allow us not only command our morning, or our year but our life." Take the journey with a group of friends, churches, small groups, book clubs have already made the pledge.
