Website inspirations

I like the idea of having a logo centrepiece on the website like this. Also having a photo fill the entire background, insuring none of the screen space is squandered.

A less subtle approach. I think that the text is TOO loud however. As though its trying too hard to get your attention.

Yet another page from the above site. Noisy site, with no real focal point.

I like this site, the less said leaves more to the imagination, which might be enough intrigue for people to click on the buttons. Buttons are easy to read, presented in a clean layout.

Not strictly a portfolio site in terms of Graphics/photography. But still a visually pleasing site. Careful consideration has been given to the colour scheme. The typeset hue and off white background subtly complement the imagery.

A strangely presented site that was odd enough to provoke me to click on his work/info.

Love this Pop Art style image in the background. Its also relevant to the contemporary culture of the sites creators, who are from Brazil.

Really clean layout, excellently chosen typefaces and visually sharp and striking images are the strong points of this site. The usability is also good.

Clear contact instructions are an absolute must on any website. I don't see how you could go wrong with a setup like these guys have.

They are a collective of Brazilian Designers/Photographers/Creatives. The images and designs they showcase make for a very aesthetically pleasing site, in my personal opinion.

In my plans for my own website I haven't yet decided on a colour scheme. But I think grey is a nice neutral option that doesn't distract from images... as this site proves.

These typefaces and images are far too bland and boring. And to me, the red one comes across as arrogant, as though they are making a statement of selfishness.

The top one is over-designed. The bottom one is clean but so extremely boring.

This more cheerful site is not the style I would choose for a graphic design/ photography site. But for its intended purpose as a video-game design site it is perfect. It identifies its target market and aims for the head.

To me both of these sites come across as very condescending. The bottom one also has extremely bad spacing between lines and unforgivable kerning.
