One lady sold 34,000 Kindle eBooks in 10 months according to the World Street Journal. What if that could be you, if you knew how to publish on Kindle? Priced correctly, a Kindle book can bring you as much as 70% royalty. According to the rules of Amazon, this means a maximum income per book of $6.99. Imagine selling 34,000 books, and gaining almost seven dollars for each of them? That's a five digit amount per month. Not bad, for doing some writing once, and publishing a book for free. Okay, dreaming is good, but in reality, only a few writers sell that many books, even in a life time. So if we're being conservative and go for a lower number, that makes a nice sum of money, regardless - extra money, that is. Should you only sell as little as two Kindle books per week, this is still an additional yearly income of more than 700 dollars. And believe me - two books per week is realistic. You will probably sell a lot more than that, if you publish your Kindle book the right way. These are the basic steps, you must take to publish on Kindle: First, obviously, you have to write your book or find an interesting text, which is in public domain. How do you usually write your books? Chances are that you can use the same programme. You'll learn more about that in a moment. It's free to publish on Kindle. You just need a customer account with Amazon, and then to login at https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/signin - follow the guide, and give them your name and address, etc. When you're done writing, you have to save your book in a format, Amazon can use. There are several formats that are permitted, but the best is HTML. If you're writing in either Word or Open Office, you can export your file as HTML. If you have pictures included, you'll have to save them as well in a folder together with the text file. Then create a compressed archive (zip), and you're ready to go public with your book. If your programme cannot save in HTML format, you can copy the text to a WYSIWYG editor like KompoZer or Dreamweaver, and save it from there. In your publisher dashboard, you can create a new title, and fill out the informations about your book. Upload a cover as well as the content. As for the pricing of your eBook, you can choose between two royalty programmes: either 35% or

70%. To be eligible for 70% royalties, you have to be the copyright owner of your book (no public domain), and you have to price it between $2.99 and $9.99. When you're done, you'll have to wait for a couple of days, and then your book is live on Amazon. Now, that you have an idea about how to publish on Kindle, doesn't it sound interesting and doable?
