For sorting out clashes it is important to group them systematically! Clash detection is an important part of design process, wherein all the potential and unrealized clashes are identified by design and construction professionals. But the identification of clashes is of no use, until and unless they are successfully resolved. Countless unrealized clashes are recognized during clash detection, and their occurrence is kind of obvious since a wide range of professionals are involved in the development of multidiscipline models. There are huge chances that wrong information is communicated to them during design development which can obviously become the reason for the clashes between elements. Group the clashes before sorting them out
For grouping the results of the clash tests, it is important that clashes are first evaluated by design and construction professionals. For doing so users are required to approach Results tab in Navisworks, wherein all the recognized clashes are incorporated. Results tab is specifically contained in Navisworks Manage for containing the results of clash tests. There are enormous provisions for arranging the clashes which are identified between multidiscipline elements. Within results tab there is a multi-column table that hosts all the clashes, users are required to view the clashes here. As per the status of the clashes they can be arranged into different categories such as New, Active, Resolved and Approved etc. Depending upon the nature and characteristics of the clashes they can be arranged into groups. Depending upon their requirement users can develop a new clash group, which contains the clashes of same nature. For developing a new clash group, design and construction professionals have to take the support of a button named as New Group. If incase users want to separate a clash from a group that is created by them earlier, they have to make use of ‘Remove from Group’ button that is contained in the results area itself. If in case users want to add some sort of comment to a selected group they have to make use of ‘Add Comment’ button. When it comes to ungrouping a selected group of clashes users are required to use ‘Explode Group’ button within the results tab.
