How to effectively utilize a linked model in Revit? There is always a purpose behind linking a model in a project, and for accomplishing the objectives for which the model is linked Revit users have to utilize the tools and features of the software. Effective utilization of the tools cannot take place until and unless users have detailed knowledge about their functionalities. When a model is linked, various tasks can be performed by users such as they can view and analyze the design for identifying element interferences, and by evaluating the design of the linked model they can significantly avoid element collisions. In short during Revit modeling, when a model is linked enormous design information can be obtained from it which can be utilized for refining the design. Utilization of a linked model in Revit  

When a model is linked, design and construction professionals can conduct interference checking, which allow them to find faults in the design. Suppose architectural model is linked in structural model then structural engineer can view entire architectural design in details which provides him necessary benefits when it comes to avoiding element collisions, since he can easily change the position of structural elements after understanding the location and positioning of architectural elements. Coordination review can also be performed by design and construction professionals when a model is linked. Coordination review is the process of reviewing the changes, which are implemented by Revit users in the monitored elements. When changes made to the elements are reviewed, Revit users try to analyze the productivity of the change implemented on the monitored elements and based on that they either have to accept the change or reject it when the warning is displayed in front of them. Generally, the software displays a warning message to the users indicating them to review the change and then take relevant action for it. If in case Revit users believe that the change that has been implemented by them in the monitored element is necessary, they have to take an action for accepting the change. There are variety of actions which can be taken by users such as ‘Postpone/Do nothing, Reject, Accept difference and Modify etc. for replying the warnings.
