A comprehensive note on different ‘Actions’ that can be used by Revit users during Coordination Review When BIM coordination Services review is performed by Revit users they have to be very specific about implementing different actions for the warnings that are displayed when alterations are made to the monitored elements of BIM models. In other words Revit users have to be very cautious while handling every change that is applied to monitored elements. Actions taken by Revit users can make a huge difference when it comes to implementing changes in the design hence warning related to every change should be handled attentively.

For selecting an action Revit users have to click on the Action column and then select the most suitable action from the drop down menu for dealing with the change. Different actions are taken by Revit users for dealing with different warnings because of the nature of the change. Only current project is affected if changes are made to the elements after taking an action for a warning. That means nothing changes in a linked model if an action is taken by Revit users for dealing with a change.

If Revit users select an action in the Action column described as ‘Postpone/Do nothing’ it means nothing should be done at the moment to the change made in a monitored element. By selecting is action, it means that the change will be addressed later on. If in case Revit users select an action described as ‘Reject’ in the Action column, it stipulates that the change made by Revit users in the monitored element is absolutely wrong and hence it should not be adopted or embraced in the design. It may also indicate that instead of making a change in the monitored element of a host model changes should be made in the monitored element of the linked model. On the other hand Revit users should select ‘Accept the difference’ action in Action column if the change made to the monitored element absolutely correct. That means if the change made to a monitored element is productive for the design then Revit users should accept it by taking ‘Accept the difference’ action during coordination review. In this way right actions can be taken by Revit users for effectively handling the change.
