FABRIC SAMPLES
ALL FABRICS ARE WOVEN WITH UNIQUE STRUCTURES.
This project was based around creating unique weave structures to gain a better understanding of the composition of fabric. A limited colour palette was used so that the focus could be on the structure alone which helped to develop a greater knowledge of woven structures and interpreting pegplans into textile designs.
9
The goal was to create an intricate, considered design that could be developed into other yarn types when determining the final use.

FINAL PIECES

The dark green cotton in these final samples are stronger and more durable, linking to the overriding trend and the potential end uses. The structures are neat and considered, without looking too regimented. The structure for the main final piece was woven to look like mountains.

These fabrics would eventually be lined and created into a backpack for everyday use. With brands like Herschel Supply Co. in mind, the aim was to create a product that blends attractive, appealing fabrics, with well-made, durable products.
