Life Skills Experience (LSE) Program In 2013, our LSE program at Chicago Park District (CPD) golf facilities, Foss Park GC (North Chicago), Glenwoodie GC (Glenwood) and Cog Hill (Lemont) flourished in many ways. The number of certifying participants grew 12% from 626 certifying participants in 2012 to 701 in 2013. This year we piloted an incentive program at all our sites where participants earned points for good behavior, exemplifying the nine core values, and practicing and playing golf, which they could then use to “purchase” rewards.

The First Tee National School and DRIVE Program
THE FIRST TEE
NATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM
In addition to having 701 participants in our LSE program, we introduced golf and character education programming to over 18,000, elementary school children, K-5, through The First Tee National School Program and another 620 youth through The DRIVE program at community facilities, such as the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA. In 2014 we aim to increase our attention on growing these programs, as we believe it is the best feeder system to grow participation in our core program, the Life Skills Experience. = 1,200 participants
DRIVE PROGRAM
NSP Golf & Life Skills Challenge Twenty nine (29) elementary school students from Claremont Academy, Dulles School of Excellence, Marquette School of Excellence, and Morton School were scored at nine SNAG stations and were asked to share examples of how they use The First Tee Nine Cores at home and at school. The First Tee of Greater Chicago staff and P.E. teachers came together through the Chicago Foundation for Education's study group program to promote participation in the NSP program, engage schools currently in the program, give the students something to look forward to while they participate in the program, and mostly importantly get them interested in LSE programs in their area. TFTGC provided for the kids: bus transportation, t-shirts, awards and lunch.
