It was 1977, the year of skin-tight polyester, the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and Saturday Night Fever. The Sex Pistols were storming up the charts, skateboarding was the latest craze and Angela Rippon danced with Morecambe & Wise.
And at Hampstead Theatre in London, Mike Leigh and his cast were putting the finishing touches to Abigail’s Party, ferocious black comedy and landmark of twentieth century theatre. In her suburban living room, Beverly prepares for the arrival of her guests. She and husband Laurence will play host to neighbours Angela, Tony and Sue. As the alcohol flows and the ‘nibbles’ are handed around, Mike Leigh’s ruthless, achingly funny examination of 1970s British life begins… Abigail’s Party was premièred at the Hampstead Theatre in 1977, with the role of Beverly being immortalised by Alison Steadman. A record sixteen million people watched its broadcast as Play for Today, underlining its status as a true modern classic and national treasure.

This is Ayckbourn at his absolute best.
When Colin, a friend who has been absent, comes back to his circle of friends, they are worried how to approach him over the death of his fiancée, Carol. Diana organises a tea party for Colin but inter-relationship tensions soon become apparent and are near erupting as Colin arrives. As the party progresses, the middle-aged friends reveal the misery and failures of their own relationships. As it turns out, the mourning guest Colin becomes the one responsible for comforting everyone else! The play, set firmly in the 1970s, beautifully depicts nostalgia, lovelessness and social awkwardness and weaves them all together with some of Ayckbourn’s sharpest dialogue to hilarious effect.

Bella Manningham is a woman on the edge. She hears footsteps in the night, pictures are moving by themselves and the gaslights in the drawing room dim and flicker without so much as a touch. Her husband is constantly disappearing. He tells her she may be losing her mind and she starts to believe him… As her grip on reality begins to slip, she finds herself in the middle of a terrifying mystery.
Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight is the stuff of legend. From its first staging in 1938, through the 1944 film starring Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, to lending its name to a legal term in present UK law, this classic Victorian thriller echoes through the ages.

Written by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.
Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award winning Blood Brothers. Bill Kenwright’s production surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End, one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone. It has been affectionately christened the ‘Standing Ovation Musical’, as inevitably it “brings the audience cheering to its feet and roaring its approval” The Daily Mail.
The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.

A reckless reappraisal of the life of former Ugly Rumours front man and Britain's first pop Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The story of how one man went from peace-loving, long-haired hippy and would-be pop star to warmongering multimillionaire in just a couple of decades. Throw in a stellar cast of larger-than-life characters – Cherie Blair, Princess Diana, John Prescott, Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell, Osama bin Laden, George W Bush, Saddam Hussein and Gordon Brown – it's Yes, Minister meets The Rocky Horror Show! and a musical like no other.
A hilarious musical tragedy of political intrigue, religion, power, and romance; this rip-roaring new musical by Harry Hill and Steve Brown received critical acclaim following a sold-out run at the Park Theatre in London.
