Welcome to the
Ticketmaster Education Guide With the summer holidays ending and kids heading back to school, it’s the perfect time to plan some mind-stretching excursions from the classroom. Young people are curious about the world and everything in it, so we’ve rounded up some West End experiences that are guaranteed to open up new worlds to them while offering incredible learning opportunities too. Nothing has stood the test of time like THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in 1986. Featuring some of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most memorable music, the production is packed with stunning costumes, set pieces and special effects that appeal to audiences of all ages – making this 33-year-old theatrical juggernaut as well loved today as it was back then. WICKED continues to enchant students by transporting them into the world of Oz. Based on Frank L Baum’s classic book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the musical has many important lessons to teach from the power of friendship and love to fighting discrimination and prejudice. LES MISÉRABLES brings 19th century France to life on stage. Inspired by the Victor Hugo novel, young minds are easily swept up in this story of romance, revolution and redemption. Starting this autumn, everyone’s favourite Shakespeare tragedy is re-imagined as a West End musical. & JULIET will tell the tale of what happens if Juliet’s famous ending were really just her beginning. Like what if she picked up the dagger and just got a life? There are several other productions that explore an extraordinary array of topics – from the THE WOMAN IN BLACK with its gothic horror to the American musical HAIRSPRAY that melds cool music, costumes and hairstyles with topics of civil rights and body image. Plus, along with invaluable educational experiences, as a school group you’ll benefit from discounted pricing. Lots of fun and learning – no boring bits!
