Many bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes are offered for students in the fields of engineering, information technology, and management, to meet the needs for skilled employees in business and industrial sectors in Thailand and overseas. Employment is guaranteed after graduation at TNI with high possibility to work with the Thai companies, joint-venture companies and Japanese companies both in Thailand and Japan. While studying in the last year, students are offered opportunities to intern in allied companies who are their potential employers after graduation. 2
Founders TNI was founded on 2 August 2007 under the umbrella of Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) (TPA) as the founder organisation. According to TNI’s founder organisation, it was established by Japanese Alumni and those who were trained in Japan with the Asia Bunka Kaikan (ABK) and the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) as well as under the kind support of Professor Goichi Hozumi, the former president of the board of Japan-Thailand Economic Co-operation Association. The Chairman of Founder Committee of TPA was H.E. Sommai Hoontrakul, Former Finance Minister of Thailand, and one of Thailand’s well-known economists who played an important role in Thai-Japanese relations for over 60 years.

TNI Lecturers-Scholar Award
Dr. Don Kaewdook Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan
Dr. Thongchai Kaewkiriya Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Science, Osaka Prefecture University, Japan
“I was a lecturer at TNI for a few years before I was awarded a scholarship to take the Doctoral Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering at Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) in Japan for three years. The cornerstone of the doctoral experience at SIT assisted me to further my research and develop my work. It also enabled me to share experiences with other senior researchers. Getting the scholarship was a good opportunity for a lecturer and researcher like me to develop an academic network which can be very useful in my future research as well as for other TNI academics and students.” “I spent only one and a half years to finish a three-year Doctoral Programme in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Science at Osaka Prefecture University. I recognise the Japanese style and it is well worth emulating, such as punctuality, responsibility, discipline, attention to detail, hard work and team work. I have used the knowledge and experience I gained from Japan to set up a research lab so we can carry out quality research and I can provide my students with useful advice.”
Dr. Saromporn Charoenpit Ph.D. in Functional Control Systems, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan
Dr. Wiroj Thasana Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Osaka Prefecture University, Japan
“Regarding to my doctoral studies in Japan, it opened the door to more specialised opportunities in learning and sharing experiences with my fellow Ph.D. students and researchers. Since my graduation from Japan, I have kept in touch with researchers whom I knew when I was studying at SIT and we have formed a network of researchers together. Apart from the academic environment, I was very impressed with Japanese work culture, self-discipline and responsibility. Those qualities are highly appreciated and very useful for self-development.”
“For me, the scholarship was a great opportunity to deepen my knowledge of research and Japanese cutting-edge technologies and gain more experience. Since I returned to work at TNI, my fellow Ph.D. students and I have exchanged research tools and exchanged TNI students to Japan to take the internship programme. Our cooperation will strengthen academic relations between TNI and other academic institutions in Japan. Studying in Japan helped me learn how to integrate new research in the fields of machine tools, CAD/CAM, and product design and teach them to my students at undergraduate and graduate levels.”

Alumni of Faculty of Engineering: Automotive Engineering Programme (AE) 1st Year Scholar Student of Osaka University, Graduate School of Engineering, Management of Industry and Technology Determination to achieve goals inspired me to put my effort in every favorite subjects during undergraduate studies. This hard effort helped me winning the scholarship to study at Osaka University. This scholarship aimed at producing human resources to work in Japan. To me, it is fulfilled to my need as I wish to work in Japan too. Studying Japanese as a third language and majors subjects simultaneously was supportive and informative for me to get the opportunity to study in Japan. I also had a chance to practice and improve my Japanese language skill when studied at TNI because there were lot of Japanese exchange students here. Moreover, this scholarship means a lot to me as it covers all costs. It paves the way for my future and enables me to view life from a different perspective.

I was a scholarship student of TNI and also obtained scholarships to go to Japan as the exchange student such as Jenesys 2.0 Batch 3, TSAE-JSAE, Institute of Technologists. Study at TNI is enabled me to acquire a strong set of skills and knowledge which is a pathway to my success in winning the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to further my Master Degree abroad. All of those mentioned scholarships are great opportunities to discover my world which is not only the cross cultures but also the different lifestyles.
Ms.Patcharaon Yimsinsomboon Alumni of Faculty of Business Administration: Business Japanese Programme (BJ) Scholar of Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship 2015, Shiga University
TNI has a Business Japanese Programme which provides both business and Japanese learning simultaneously. It is very unique programme and benefits me in the future. I enjoyed every moment of my study at TNI. My Japanese proficiency was a key success factor that helped me to win the scholarship since I had to write a study plan on business administration in Japanese. Studying in Japan is a good opportunity for my career prospects and my language skill will be improved dramatically. I hope to use the knowledge I gain from my studies and research to develop an analytical system and business planning between Thailand and Japan.

I am working at YN2-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and will be dispatched to work at Hirate Company in Japan. I am now preparing for dispatching. I knew about YN2-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. at TNI JOB Fair in January and decided to apply for a job here. I got a job and started my work at the Product Design & Development Department. I thought Japanese would be the third useful language that created greater value to my working life. Studying at TNI was a good opportunity that I could learn more about Japanese work culture as well as thinking style which would benefit me in my future career.
Ms.Chalisa Klinbuayam Alumni of Faculty of Information Technology: Business Information Technology Programme (BI) Intern at Nippon Office Automation Co., Ltd. in Japan I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Information System from TNI. The programme and Japanese language that I learned during my studies were very useful for me. I had a chance to attend 2-month internship programme at Nippon Office Automation Co., Ltd. in Japan under the scholarship from Thailand-Japan Economic Cooperation Society (JTECS). My current job is at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Jaiyos (DTTJ) Co., Ltd. TNI offered me the opportunities that I could not find anywhere else. Every subject and every project I studied here benefit my career in many ways. Since the first day I started working at the company, I feel that I have self-confidence and self-esteem at work.
