Sport Scholarships Guidance and Eligibility About the scheme East Kent College is proud to offer seven scholarships to students with outstanding sporting ability across all curriculum areas. Scholarships are currently available to those competing at county level or higher in football, rugby, swimming, athletics and cycling. Other sports may also be considered.
Criteria Applicants must: • • •
Be applying for a full time course or continuing on a full time course at East Kent College in September 2014. Be a talented sportsperson and have the desire to continue to develop in the sporting arena as well as academically. The applicant will be expected to be representing their sport at county level and higher. Only apply for one scholarship

Financial support of up to £1000 to cover equipment, physiotherapy, travel, membership costs etc. toward your sporting commitments. Student support to assist with balancing academic workload and training requirements. Media promotions of achievements. Allocated mentor for sports advice, guidance and lifestyle support.
Expectations Scholars will be required to:

Be a positive ambassador for East Kent College at all times including the promotion of East Kent College in any external interviews or publications associated with sporting performance. To represent the College in student sports competitions as currently organised by the KCSSA Kent Colleges Student Sports Association. Maintain high standards of conduct at all times in the sporting and academic context. Take part in sporadic sporting photography sessions to be used in marketing publications. Complete a Sport Scholarship Application form Provide the correct details for referees and check that they are happy to support the application prior to submitting the form. Return Completed application forms to: Stephanie Howard College Sport Maker East Kent College Ramsgate Road Broadstairs Kent, CT10 1PN Applications will be open in January 2014 and close on Friday 13th June 2014. Referees will be contacted on Monday 16th June 2014. Candidates will be notified if they have been successful in earning an interview by Friday 23rd June 2014.

Interviews will be held in July 2014 (date TBC). Candidates will be informed of final decisions for academic year 2014/15 by Wednesday 16 th July 2014.
