A new railway track and station in Larvik will be built by 2030. Placement is an ongoing discussion and is characterized by “station” being interpreted different by different people. The project will take three steps back: What exactly is a station? And what is the future station?

High rise residential transformation and densification Studio course

AHO, fall 2013

Professor in charge: Håkon Vigsnæs Additional staff: Sissil Gromholt, Espen Vatn AHO WORKS AWARDS: Excellence in use of timber

14

Exploration of multi-housing units for families by transforming, rebuilding and building on existing blocks and towers of Tøyen in Oslo. Each student was assigned to work with one block/tower. Besides testing the possibilities for developing this specific area, the students designed family dwellings with a varied program as well as shared outdoor and indoor spaces as an integrated part of the architectural development.

Jens Bjelkes gate 60 is a flexible living arrangment aimed at students with children. The fence is used as inspiration and principle to create new boundaries, and an invitation to social interactions and play. Children don’t necessarily regard fences

as boundaries. Fences can be considered and act as spatial elements and become an informal playground. Different

the new collective Studio course: B3 AHO, fall 2012

Professor in charge: Per Olaf Fjeld Additional staff: Rolf Gerstlauer, Kathrine Næss

24

The intention is to search/understand the social content of “The new collective” within today’s situation and thereafter to give it an architectural precision. “The New Collective” as “a new social construct” that in different manners invites for a conscious relationship between human, humans, and space..
