Return Policy As you know, all profits received worldwide from the sale of our precious Tharpa books and products are donated to the International Temples Project and used to build Kadampa Temples, Hotels and International Retreat Centers around the world, according to Venerable Geshe-la’s vision. Great care is taken at the Tharpa US warehouse to ship books in a professional manner to your Center so that they arrive in excellent condition for sale in your bookstore and at your branches and special courses. In the event that your Center must return books to Tharpa US, we would like to offer these guidelines for reducing the potential for damage in shipping to help you avoid any inauspiciousness or lost revenue for the ITP or your Center. Note: If it is your job to order Tharpa books and items for a Dharma Celebration, please call for assistance with ordering and special instructions on how best to handle post-Celebration inventory.

Please could you carefully read and follow these guidelines for returns: 1. Send a Return Form or Email First. To help save time, money, and products, send in a Return Form detailing what you wish to return and for what reason. This form helps us to determine whether we can accept the items and also will help register your return. After receiving the form, we will send you an email confirming the items to be returned. We will also email information about cost-effective and reliable shipping methods, and how to pack the items for return to prevent damage. 2. Standard for Return. Please check carefully for dirty covers, bent corners, and dented spines, etc. before returning books. All items must be received back at Tharpa US in excellent, re-salable condition. We cannot sell dirty or damaged books, and therefore we can’t give your Center credit for their return. You may wish to add them to your Center library or donate damaged books to the Prison Book Project - please contact us for information about this program. (Note: Dirty covers can sometimes be cleaned - if you need instructions on how to clean them, please contact us and we can help you with that.) 3. No Price Stickers. Before returning books to Tharpa US, please carefully remove any extra price stickers you have added. (For example, those used to account for state sales tax). Remaining adhesive can be removed from the book with Goo Gone or a similar product. Please contact us for instructions on how to remove it from your books. 4. Only Current Editions. We regret that Tharpa US cannot accept outdated books as returns, because these editions cannot be resold. (The only exceptions are when we organize an exchange for older versions of a book eg The New Heart of Wisdom was recently exchanged for the previous version, Heart of Wisdom). If an exchange has not been implemented by Tharpa, we cannot accept an outdated version. (see back for more information)

5. Packing Tips. If your returns are in good order, please pack them very well for their journey back to Tharpa US. This means all books must fit snugly in a sturdy box. We recommend first wrapping the items in Saran Wrap to help protect them from slipping or scuffing - it is through the movement of items inside the box where damage occurs. Check that there is enough padding on all sides of the box so that if it is dropped or squashed, the contents will not be damaged. Generally, a thick layer of bubble wrap or clean crumpled paper (do not use newspaper as it can smudge!), will protect books well. If you wrap the items in Saran wrap and stuff all the empty spaces with paper and/or bubble wrap so the items are packed tight, that should be fine. Watch out for styrofoam peanuts - they often pack too loosely and allow books to slide around. Remember to tape the box up well so that it does not split open and also to include a note with your return. Thank you so much for taking time to read and understand these guidelines and for helping Tharpa US in our aim to protect and treasure these holy Kadam Dharma texts. Please feel free to call or email us at (845) 856-5102 or info.us@tharpa.com for further information or any assistance.

May everyone in the US soon have the opportunity to read Ven Geshe-la’s words as they are written in Tharpa books and receive lasting benefit.
