WELCOME HOME Kaduna Park welcomed purchasers and soon to be residents to the estate, with a Family Picnic Day. Set against the beautiful backdrop of a heritagelisted homestead, future residents were invited to spread out their picnic rugs and enjoy the gourmet food offered whilst listening to live music. The event was a significant milestone for Parklea in shaping the estate’s future community, as it provided residents with the opportunity to meet their future neighbours and venture around the gardens at the historic homestead. “Parklea strives to create communities, not just develop estates, so having events like the picnic day gives Kaduna Park residents an opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbours, which creates a more welcoming and safer community for all,” said Tammy Radford, Parklea Community Development Officer. “It’s an exciting day welcoming all the new residents to Kaduna Park. For many new buyers, they have spent the past year or two planning the next part of their journey by choosing to purchase land at Kaduna Park,” she added.
“This event gives us an opportunity to help our residents learn more about the estate and get settled in. We are planning for more events like this in the future,” said Jarod Mills, Parklea Sales and Marketing Manager. Children had plenty of activities to enjoy, including jumping castles, pony rides, an animal farm and face painting. While pizza and crepe food trucks offered sweet and tasty relief from the hot summer sun. Many residents expressed excitement about their next chapter. “We can’t wait to move in, we got to see the community we will be living in and meet our new neighbours,” said one enthusiastic resident. Parklea is thrilled to have seen so many future residents, both children and adults alike, enjoy the picnic day and embrace the community spirit.

Positioned on the doorstep of the estate's one hectare park, the Corbin Walk townhouses are both beautiful and functional.
Parklea Sales and Marketing Manager Jarod Mills said that with premium land in high demand, townhouses were becoming increasingly popular with savvy buyers.
Each home offers double storey living with a master suite conveniently located downstairs along with open plan living, dining and powder room. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, family bathroom and a large playroom or teenagers' retreat. Each home is luxuriously appointed with European appliances, flooring, landscaping, down lights, stone bench tops in the kitchen, split air-conditioning to the ground floor and window
"We expect Corbin Walk, especially properties of this quality and prime positioning, to be extremely sought after. Not only do they make for great low maintenance family living, they are also great investment options," Mr Mills said. Mr Mills said Corbin Walk was just one of many exciting developments underway at Kaduna Park, with the first residents due to move in later this year. "People who are attracted to Kaduna Park are looking for a sense of community, a safe place to bring up their kids surrounded by nature," Mr Mills said. "We want residents to know their neighbours and feel part of their community. The estate has a peaceful rural setting but is surrounded by established infrastructure and amenities such as schools, kindergartens, shops and transport."

LIVE. WORK. PLAY. Café dishes up fresh hospitality It’s shortly before midday on a sizzling hot Friday and the Timbermill Café is buzzing. Some patrons are enjoying an early lunch; others are sharing a coffee with friends, whilst regulars stop by for a take-away. Café proprietor, Jo Whitney glides from table to table greeting customers, taking orders and clearing tables as if she has been in hospitality her whole life. Actually, Jo is a hairdresser by trade, and her husband Travis Murphy is in the roofing industry, but they took over management of the Timbermill Café on January 9 in their first foray into hospitality.
from Poland, Nepal, Brazil and England. We have a lot of laughs while we work and I think that’s one of the things I am enjoying most about this new adventure,” she says.
It has been a hectic few months for the couple who live in Timbertop with their two sons. “It has been a baptism of fire,” says Jo with a laugh, adding, “We’ve had to learn a lot, but the customers have been great and so have our staff.”
Jo tries to source ingredients for the café’s food locally. Each Friday Jo’s friend, Kylie, accompanies Jo to the Dandenong Market to stock up on fresh produce. Beaconsfield’s Gourmet Butcher Shop and Bellevue Orchard are also suppliers. Their milk comes from a Frankston supplier and Strada Café supplies gluten free products. Timbermill Café is also licensed serving wines from Crittenden Estate on the Mornington Peninsula.
Jo’s motivation for taking on the thriving business is simple. “It has been an itch I’ve needed to scratch for a long time. I love being in the kitchen and I’m particularly passionate about food styling, which I guess fits with my creative background,” she explains.
Since taking over, Jo has freshened up the café adding her own decorative touches and gently tweaking the menu. “We didn’t want to make big changes to the menu because clearly the food is working really well for our customers,” she says.
The busy couple is supported by a close-knit team including Jo’s Dad’s partner, Jen, who helps manage the café, their Nepalese Chef, Bikas and two baristas, Tylah and Lina, who make sure the coffee is excellent. “When we took over everyone said the coffee needs to be good and everything else will fall into place,” Jo says.
Popular dishes include corn fritters with avocado, bacon, relish and a poached egg and the ancient grain salad with house made humus, haloumi, flat bread and slow cooked lamb. A new addition to the menu, the Cuban Reuben sandwich, is stuffed with corned beef and slow cooked pork, Swiss cheese and pickles. Jo’s favourite type of food is Vietnamese, which is reflected in her Vietnamese chicken salad found on the specials board.

Jo enjoys getting to know her regular customers. She calls them her VIPs. Some visit every day treating the cafe as a home away from home. “Our regulars are here all the time. Everyone knows the cafe has a beautiful welcoming feel,” she says.

A Toast to Timbertop Sponsored by Parklea, the D’Angelo’s Estate Vineyard hosted the Timbertop Wine and Cheese tasting event. It was another well-attended, successful residents' group event. Forty-six residents attended and quite a few new residents took the opportunity to attend it as their first event. They were extremely cheerful about how friendly everyone was and really appreciated being introduced to all their new neighbours. The wine tasting was an amazing experience with Benny, the owner and head wine maker of D’Angelo, hosting and on hand to take everyone through the 10 special wines on the tasting menu. Dr. Mark Yee and his wife Melissa celebrate their one year anniversary with Timbertop Estate and they couldn't be happier. Since relocating to Australia from Malaysia three years ago, the family have welcomed their first child. It’s an exciting time for the couple, but it has its challenges too as both their families are currently living in Malaysia. One thing they have no regrets about is moving to Timbertop. “It’s our one year milestone in this estate! We’re so glad we walked through those doors and met the Timbertop Sales Team,” said Mark.

little kangaroos hang out in the estate! It is just genuinely a really welcoming community. Not to mention it's a great escape from the city,” Mark exclaimed. The Timbertop community has been extremely welcoming to Mark and his wife. They have formed strong friendships with their neighbours, and have recently celebrated Chinese New Year together, sharing plates of cookies and fruits.
Mark and his wife purchased their land in late 2017, had the land title transferred in early January 2018 and officially moved in by June 2018.
When asked what attracted him most to the estate, Mark expressed how he immediately noticed the estate’s aesthetic appeal. He was impressed with its lush greenery, landscaping and 'rolley polley' appearance. Mark also explained how the communal aspect of the estate was another factor that contributed in the decision to make Timbertop Estate their new home.
Mark’s experience with the Timbertop sales team was nothing short of excellence. “It was great working with Rebecca. We had a really enjoyable

When asked if he and his wife would refer their family and friends to Timbertop, Mark mentioned that he already has referred his friends and family members, and when they ask him where the best estates to live are, Mark always tells them the only place to live is at the Top!

Parklea Pakenham Show Surprises On a glorious sunny Saturday, great crowds of people showed up at the PB Ronald Reserve for the 2019 Parklea Pakenham Show. The day was full of fun and surprises. Even better, Parklea’s continued sponsorship of this event meant this exciting day, jam-packed with shows and activities, was free for the whole family. Children were especially delighted by some unusual unexpected visitors. The Australian Reptile Show presented by Reptile Encounters was a real highlight for the kids. This live interactive show was an exciting way to introduce children to a variety of reptiles, native mammals and birds, such as the dragon lizard, sugar glider possum and red-tailed black cockatoo. “Kids these days are a lot less likely to encounter reptiles or native animals. We are all about reconnecting people with nature,” said Josh Cox of Reptile Encounters. “We bring out a handful of animals and talk about fun quirky facts to do with each one. Depending on how big the audience is, we try to make it as
interactive as possible,” he explained. “Kids are blown away. Sometimes they are fearful of the animals, but for kids it’s like going down a skateboard ramp. It’s a natural adrenaline high. They love it,” he said. Visitors were also treated to live musical performances by the Police Band and the Cardinia Civic Concert Band. There was a rare meet and greet with Paw Patrol. Showgoers were encouraged to enter the gumboot throwing and paper plane competitions. There was something for everyone. “We value the importance and tradition of the Pakenham Show. Parklea’s sponsorship helps organisers offer free entry and entertainment for all ages,” said Parklea Sales and Marketing Manager Jarod Mills. There could be no doubt that a good time was had by all.

Fresh Face from Familiar Family Mature beyond his years, Eden Facey-Smith, Sales Consultant at Parklea, has property and development in his blood and his future. The Facey name has helped develop the face of the South East and it seems with Eden on-board it will be for many years to come. Eden’s Great-Great Grandfather, Frank Facey, established Frank Facey Real Estate in 1917. Facey Industrial Commercial has specialised in property development in the South East for over 100 years now. Working alongside his Great Uncle Andrew Facey at Parklea for over a year and a half, Eden has high hopes for the future and is dedicated to helping the land developer create quality community estates. How did you get into working in Land Development? During high school I had a part time job at a supermarket. The work was repetitive. I knew then that I needed to start focusing on work that really interested me, in a place where I could continue to learn and develop new skills to build a career. I have always been fascinated by the way an area can essentially go from a blank canvas to a thriving community. It’s a really exciting concept. With my family connection, it was a no brainer that this was the direction I wanted to take. Andrew Facey is my
Great Uncle and someone whom I admire for his internal drive and passion for land development and I hope that I can match his high degree of professionalism and dedication to business. What do you enjoy about working in Land Sales? Working in land sales provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with a diverse range of people. Each has a unique story. I take great pleasure in knowing I’m helping people on their journey to living a great community lifestyle. Every day I get to experience something different, which is extremely valuable to me. As it is a position involving a high degree of interpersonal contact, I am continuously developing my social and communication skills, which are important both in and out of my career. What do you enjoy most about working for Parklea? Parklea is made up of a small team of people who are all extremely caring and genuine.
No one is just a number at Parklea. I come to work knowing that I’m surrounded by a fantastic support network of people who are all equally passionate about the success of the company. It’s great to work with a team that operates with total transparency and honesty - virtues that I hold in high regard. I hold our family legacy close to my heart, so continuing the legacy is extremely important and something that I will really strive for working at Parklea. What is one of your biggest achievements? Completing my first land contract signing is definitely a highlight. It gave me great confidence to work with clients all the way through to the final stage. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? I will be finishing my business degree and then will focus on full-time work with Parklea. I would love to learn how each aspect of the business operates.
