About the

movement The “Bringing It Together” movement was created by active community members/local artists themselves to unify the Pasadena Music Scene. In a city rich in diverse talent, the #bringingittogether movement is showing the rest of the music scene by example that we can unite and work together for a stronger community and sense of purpose.

The #bringingittogether movement is: •Active local, independent artists taking pictures with each other to represent ‘unity’ in the community •Coming together as a strong, diverse ethnic minority group and take it to City Halls, Public Parks & Plazas, and any event necessary to attend in regards to spreading the message.

The movement will have these effects on the community: •Provide platform with direction for new, aspiring local artists. •Display Love, Peace, & Unity by example. •Inspire all. PasadenaMusicScene.com

Mistah Wilson: So our audience can get a clear understanding, tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? Marilyn Cortez: I am originally from Panama. I lived about 15 mts from the Panama Canal. I attended high school in Panama. And moved to the USA about ten years ago. Mistah Wilson: Would you say martial arts has stimulated the course of your acting career at all? Marilyn Cortez: Martial Arts has stimulated my life in general, ultimately life in general my experiences, the people I meet in different venues, the places I have traveled to for the past 10 years, university, the things I do such as Kung-Fu stimulates how I approach acting. So yes, Kung-Fu and many other things in my life have stimulated the course of my acting.

Mistah Wilson gets exclusive interview with Martial Artist/Actress Marilyn Cortez

Mistah Wilson: So you've done 2 movies this year so far. What's it like being on set with other aspiring people in the business? Marilyn Cortez: It is interesting working on set with aspiring actors such as myself. Everyone has a different mentality, character and mood. Although we are there for the same reason, hoping to one day have a steady stream of income doing what we love. How certain actors approach this goal is interesting. For example, there are some actors who live to struggle for the art, and don’t live life to its fullest. Actors who don’t travel for fear of missing one audition. Their entire schedule in life it’s dependent on the next audition. I witnessed this and I made a conscious decision to live life. Then other actors who are down to earth, and have things to do outside acting but are great at managing acting and life and they are content and happy. I think the secret really is balance. If I didn’t travel or had hobbies I would not be a good actor. I keep training in the art but I also keep a life outside of it and both mesh PasadenaMusicScene.com Read The Entire Interview harmoniously.

Joey Tripp explains Kenrik Dumbar diss record on True Spitters/Shut Em’ Down Radio hosted by Lovey Elise & B-Nice

There hasn’t been this much negative feedback since Bing Bing’s “What It Is” single was released earlier this year. Joey Tripp was interviewed by Lovey Elise & B-Nice on True Spitters/Shut Em’ Down Radio about his reasons for releasing the Kendrick Lamar diss track in response to his verse on “Control”. A lot of people didn’t understand the move for various reasons. Some questioned Joey’s credibility in being able to speak on Kendrick like that while others had an appreciation for it. After the official premiering, Lovey & B-Nice aired the “Kenrik Dumbar” single twice in a row. Then the phones started ringing off the hook. Males & females started calling in from area codes across the country to chime in. Joey Tripp, who was under pressure throughout the duration of the show, still managed to get his point across. And he released an entire mixtape project to back that up. PasadenaMusicScene.com
