Concert Review: James Bay charms Paramount crowd by Sophia Barkalakis
The much anticipated live show of singer -songwriter James Bay was finally
upon dedicated fans filling up the Paramount Theater. Bay's date back in
October was postponed and fans were excited for his return and a chance to
hear music from his second studio album, Electric Light, live. This was his last
show of the tour which made it feel very intimate and special as he expressed
his gratitude to his audience.
Concert Review: Jose Gonzalez captivates Paramount crowd by Sophia Barkalakis
The already enchanting music of Argentine -Swedish guitarist Jose Gonzalez was
going to be complemented by the intriguing sound of The String Theory. The
captivating music was to be paired by the historic Paramount Theater in Seattle
which was packed full for this unique experience. Sometimes nothing else feels
as right as getting your favorite songs arranged by a composer giving them new
life. They released an album with the new arrangement titled Live in Europe
and we can't get enough of it.
Concert Review: Maggie Rogers shines at Showbox SoDo (NorthWest Music Scene) by Sophia Barkalakis
There has been a lot of buzz recently about Maggie Rogers. The pop phenom seems to have taken over the industry impressing anyone who runs across her. Her show at the Showbox SoDo sold out fast and she's already returning this fall to play much larger WaMu. Impressed yet? Her Seattle performance came right in the middle of her Coachella appearances already receiving much praise from last weekend. We were very excited to hear songs from her debut, Heard It
in a Past Life, that was released back in January under her own label, Debay Sounds.
Concert Review: K.Flay delivers intense set at Columbia City Theater (NorthWest Music Scene)
by Sophia Barkalakis
NorthWest Music Scene - When we heard that K.Flay was playing a show at
Columbia City Theater for a charity cause we were ready to attend. The talented musician is known for her energy filled live performances and she holds a top spot on our list. The event sold out quickly as one would imagine and fans were ready to devour the set. Last month she released the first single, "Bad Vibes," from her upcoming third studio album and we are patiently wait for the rest sometime this year.

Interview:
Danny
Goldberg chats Danny Goldberg, who took over Nirvana’s management in 1991 and saw the band and Kurt Cobain to the top, always refused to talk at
with
length about those days. Until now. His new memoir Serving the Servant: Remembering Kurt Cobain covers everything Goldberg recalls from those mind-boggling years, bolstered with vintage documents and the memories of others on that ride.

Stream & Purchase "DAWN" album by Emma Donovan & The Putbacks
Acclaimed indigenous vocalist Emma Donovan and Melbourne rhythm combo The PutBacks come together to bring you Dawn – an LP of hard hitting and heartfelt soul songs telling stories of grief, struggle and redemption. Dawn is a gritty, uniquely Australian record, simultaneously classic
and contemporary. The songwriting is in turns optimistic, angry and melancholic, and on occasions bruisingly honest. The music is fluid, live and raw, recorded in one room on eight channels of analog tape and the electric connection between Emma and the band comes through in every beat.

Album Review: Tacocat — ‘This Mess is a Place’
Tacocat’s latest album is a sweet pop treat, with a sunny outlook
seemingly bursting out of the speakers on every track. Or is that
really the case? On This Mess is a Place, appearances can be deceiving, and there’s definitely a bit of sleight of hand going on here. The band’s effervescent songs sure get your toes tapping,
but the lyrics burrow in your brain and leave something a little
more disquieting behind.
Stream & Purchase "Make The Road By Walking" album by Menahan Street Band (Soul) In addition to their role as the of ficial house band for Brookl yn -based Dunham Records , Menahan Street Band has received critical praise for their oft-sampled 2008 debut album Make The Road By Walking and for backing Charles Bradle y. “Vibe is a quintessential element in what I’m going for,” sa ys MSB co-founder, multi-instr umentalist and producer Thomas Brenneck. “Vibe, mood and emotion.”
