JULIE ROEHM IN CONVERSATION WITH JENNIFER GILBERT
Julie: “Recently had the privilege of interviewing Jennifer Gilbert, the founder and chief visionary officer of Save the Date, a hospitality and special events company based in New York City. Talking with Jennifer was an eye opening experience and taught me so much. We began by delving into her childhood which was reflective of her innate entrepreneurial spirit. Jennifer went on to briefly described to me a traumatic experience she went through and how her determination to rise above it led her to starting her own company. She began working at an event planning firm in New York, got accustomed to the city and the industry, and took it from there. Her social capital- her network, was her biggest asset. Slowly, she grew her business and her services were in demand. Her company culture is driven by what the client wants. Jennifer went on to explain how customer satisfaction is her top priority and is what lies at the heart of hospitality. Jennifer also discussed her book I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag and how by opening up about her experiences she was able to help so many of her readers. Her bravery and honesty is heartwarming and inspiring. Jennifer’s life graph is so admirable. She has overcome unthinkable personal obstacles and proven herself to be an extremely successful entrepreneur. Learning all about her experiences, opinions and triumphs has been so interesting- it left tears in my eyes. Click here for the podcast
