BAYLOR BREAKDOWN
SPENSER DAVIS | @DAVIS_SPENSER
No. 12 Oklahoma will face its biggest test in recent memory on Saturday when it travels to Waco to face the No. 6 Bears. For the first time since 2012, the Sooners are equipped to handle Baylor’s high-powered passing attack. Here’s how OU matches up with the Bears: Baylor’s rushing attack vs Oklahoma’s front Through 10 weeks, Baylor running back Shock Linwood is the conference’s only 1000-yard rusher and also has nine touchdowns on the year. He will be matched up with an Oklahoma front that has been inconsistent against the run this season but has the depth to keep up with and shut down Baylor’s running game. If OU is going to win in Waco, its defensive line will have to contain Linwood. Advantage: Push
Baylor’s passing attack vs Oklahoma’s secondary Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty graduated and then his successor, Seth Russell, lost his season because of a neck injury. Enter true freshman Jarrett Stidham, who will be making his second career start as the Bears’ signal caller Saturday. But OU currently has the best passing defense in the Big 12 and one of the best nationally as well. This game will be a huge test for OU — its biggest since holding Texas Tech to 253 passing yards on Oct. 24 — and should be a good barometer for where the secondary stands going forward. Advantage: Baylor

Oklahoma’s passing attack vs Baylor’s secondary
STAFF PICKS Dillon Hollingsworth: Oklahoma 52, Baylor 49 “Oklahoma’s DNA this season does not include holding the ball, so Baylor should get plenty of possessions, which means plenty of points. The Sooners’ defense won’t match its impressive averages against Baylor’s explosive offense, but OU’s run game will grind out 150 yards behind an improved offensive line and Mayfield and his receivers will shine en route to an upset victory.”
Joe Buettner: Oklahoma 49, Baylor 45 “OU’s bad luck against the Bears comes to an end Saturday. Oklahoma’s defense is better equipped than ever before, and with Devante Bond, Zack Sanchez and Jordan Evans back, Baylor’s offense will be challenged more Saturday than they have all season. Expect Baker Mayfield to be cool under pressure and deliver his second big road win of the season.”
Spenser Davis: Baylor 52, Oklahoma 45 “The Sooners have made tremendous strides on both sides of the ball since their last meeting with Baylor, but it won’t be enough in Waco on Saturday. Baylor’s offense will be too much for Oklahoma’s secondary to keep up with.”
Scott Hiney: Oklahoma 48, Baylor 45 “It’s the perfect storm for an Oklahoma victory after Kansas State revealed some weaknesses in Baylor’s rush defense last week. On any other day, the Sooners don’t pull this one out, but something about Baker Mayfield Saturday night says he’s not going to fail in the national spotlight. “
Brady Vardeman: Baylor 55, Oklahoma 41 “The final score in this one makes Baylor look much better than reality. I wouldn’t expect the Bears to really pull away until late in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma keeps it close for most of the game, utilizing the most defensive skill it’s had in ages. However, Baylor’s aerial attack is too much for Oklahoma’s relatively untested secondary.”

ith 20,000 songs on his computer and DJing at numerous events such as Bob Stoops’ and Toby Keith’s houses, Garrett Ebersole is both a prominent DJ for Nexus Productions and owns his own company while being a full-time student at OU. “I’ve always been a Sooner fan. I’ve grown up watching Sooner football, and I just love the campus,” Ebersole said. Ebersole became interested in DJing back in September of 2009 when his dad needed someone to play music at his 20th high school reunion. Ebersole decided he would step in and help DJ with a program he uploaded onto his computer called “Zoon,” where he was able to download all of the music he played at the reunion. That night, Ebersole realized that he could make money DJing, since his dad had paid him $40 dollars for his performance. In Januar y of 2010, Ebersole became so invested in DJing that he decided to buy all of his own equipment and and start his own business. At first, he called his new enterprise “Prestige DJing Services” but later changed the name to “Prestige Event Services.” From January of 2010 to
2012, Ebersole was invested in working at his own company. “I would DJ at proms, small weddings, school events and 5Ks,” Ebersole said. In February of 2013, he accompanied another DJ from Tulsa to a bridal show, where he met Adrian Buendia, the owner of Nexus Productions. Buendia told Ebersole that he needed extra DJs and asked Ebersole to give him a call any time if he was available to DJ. February of 2013, Ebersole joined Buendia and Nexus Productions to DJ OSU’s dance marathon. A couple of month’s later, Ebersole DJed a date party for Nexus as well. “As summer came along, I didn’t DJ a lot for Nexus but worked mostly at Prestige Event Services,” Ebersole said. However, in the fall of 2013, he started DJing for Nexus Productions every weekend in Norman and OKC. “I would continue to go back and forth, working at Prestige Event Services and helping out [Buendia] at Nexus Productions whenever he needed help,” Ebersole said. When working with Buendia at Nexus Productions, Ebersole began
DJing at many date parties and other college events. “Helping DJing for Nexus Productions is what made me decide to come to OU, because I knew that I would have a job that I loved doing with a steady income,” he said. In 2014, Ebersole started DJing for Nexus Production more than he did for his own company, and that fall, Ebersole transferred to OU and officially moved down to Norman. After transferring, he began to work for Nexus Productions constantly, since he no longer had to commute from Perry to Norman. Since he transferred to OU, he has DJed at OU events, date parties and weddings. “Moving to Norman and being able to DJ for Nexus
Productions has given me many opportunities that I thought I would never have and meet people I though I would never meet. The first people I met at OU were both Bob Stoops and Toby Keith because I was DJing an event for one of Stoops’ foundations,” Ebersole said. After transferring to OU, he decided to slow down his own business, working there only when he had nothing to do for Nexus Productions. “In 2015, I officially started working full-time for Nexus Productions,” Ebersole said. Though the first official event he DJed for was with his company Prestige Event Services at a high school prom in Red Rocks, Oklahoma, Ebersole has recently been given the opportunity to be the pregame DJ for OU football.
“Now that I’m working full-time for Nexus Productions in Norman, I DJ at proms, birthday parties, 5Ks, fundraising events, philanthropy events, weddings, bars, S o oner thon (O U d a n c e m a ra t h o n ) a n d Cowboython (OSU dance marathon),” Ebersole said. DJing about 15 hours a week and working about 45 hours a week with setting up and prepping, Ebersole gets to choose how much he gets paid for at the different events he DJs at, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. “After college, I hope to buy Nexus Productions and stay in Norman DJing at OU and hopefully in OKC at Thunder games,” Ebersole said.

Several artists moved their album releases to this week to avoid competing with Adele’s monsterous third album, “25,” out next week. Missy Elliot released new track “WTF (Where They From)” Nov. 12, featuring Pharrell Williams, and the track is fantastic. The song has a hypnotically pounding beat, and the lyrics are wonderfully clever. Elliot verbally plays with the beat, and Pharrell’s verse is amazing. The song is a triumph for Elliot. “WTF” is a powerful return to music for Elliot, whose seventh studio album is expected out sometime next year. “Threshold” is Redlight’s collaboration with Melisa Whiskey. The song has a smooth, electronic sound, and Whiskey’s husky bluesy voice adds dimension to the song, which is a perfect warm-up tune. Strings sweep through the beginning of the song, then the beat kicks in as Whiskey declares “No need to question our connection. Let go of all the doubts on your mind.” “Know-It-All” is Alessia Cara’s debut, and it’s a sleek pop album that showcases Cara’s smoky voice. Her songs have captured the imagination of the nation, and her lyrics shine: “I assumed that there was only room for my dreams in my dreams, so I’d sleep in repeat”
she confides in “Four Pink Walls”. Justin Bieber released “Purpose” Nov. 13, an album that the young singer hopes will revitalize his career after a string of public embarrassments. The album, produced by Skrillex, features a departure from Bieber’s typical brand of pop. Bieber forays into more electronic sounds, that singles “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean?” showcase. The album features collaborations with Halsey, Nas, Big Sean, Travis Scott, and Ariana Grande on a “What Do You Mean?” Remix (only available on the Deluxe album). Ty Dolla $ign first studio album, “Free TC” was released Nov. 13. The album is named after Ty Dolla $ign’s brother TC, who is currently in jail for a murder Ty said he did not commit. The album covers heavy topics, like race and incarceration, while still incorporating Dolla $ign’s smooth R&B-influenced rap. “LA,” a song dedicated to the city, is a perfect encapsulation of the album. With Kendrick Lamar, Brandy, and James Fauntleroy joining the track, the song has a cool vibe, while still touching issues facing the city. The album also features collaborations with Kanye West, Diddy, Babyface, R. Kelly, Rae Sremmurd, Future and Wiz Khalifa.

GAMES OF THE WEEK THE BEST MATCHUPS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY
SCOTT HINEY | @SCOTTHINEY
No. 2 Alabama @ No. 17 Mississippi State | Saturday, 2:30 p.m. | CBS Fo r A l a b a m a, t h i s i s purely a trap game. All signs point to the fact that Alabama is back on top as a power as indicated by its 30-16 win over LSU, but no team is invincible and the Bulldogs could end Alabama’s playoff hopes with an upset at home. Dax Prescott was high on everyone’s Heisman Trophy
board last season thanks to his team’s unbeaten run. This season, even though Prescott is having an even better year because of his team’s two losses, the nation isn’t hearing a lot about him. He has 25 total touchdowns to just one interception, whereas he had 11 interceptions last season. Prescott is also completing his passes
at a 5 percent higher rate. If the Bulldogs can focus on stopping, or at least slowing down, Alabama’s Derrick Henry, a win isn’t out of the realm of possibility with Prescott’s senior leadership. Prediction: Alabama 31, Mississippi State 27
No. 21 Memphis @ No. 24 Houston | Saturday, 6 p.m. | ESPN2 In a rare ranked matchup between two non-power five teams, the American conference sees its last undefeated team take on Memphis, a for mer Cinderella, at home Saturday night in the Houston Cougars. The Cougars are tough to judge because they haven’t played anyone of substance outside of a 34-31 win over Louisville
early in the year. They take on a Memphis Tigers team that is coming off a disappointing home loss to newfound power Navy, but the Tigers still feature a very effective offense under starlet coach Justin Fuente. Houston will have its fans primed for a rare ranked m a t c h u p a t h o m e, b u t Memphis is used to limelight
at this point in the season and has built itself a better resume with tough games to draw upon such as wins over Cincinnati and then-ranked Ole Miss. Prediction: Memphis 42, Houston 34
