A New Year of Prayer - Connecting With God! Do you believe in miracles? I have to be honest and tell you that I haven't always believed in them. I was a Believer that didn't believe! I wanted to; I fully understood the principle of believing before receiving. Nevertheless, there was a disconnect between my head and my heart that I didn't know how to change, but God did! You see, it is possible to believe God in areas A, B and C and not believe in areas D, E and F, and God knows just what to do. Let me explain. "Help My Unbelief!" In Mark 9:14-29 we see a father who brought Jesus his son who was possessed with some sort of an evil spirit that tortured him through symptoms of epilepsy. The fact that the father brought his son to Jesus reveals that he had a measure of faith. However, after the disciples failed at setting his son free, we see something else: we see the father's faltering faith. This uncertainty is revealed in his words to Jesus, "If You can do anything, have compassion on us..." (verse 22). My heart goes out to this father; there is nothing more painful to a parent than to watch their child suffer. I can only imagine his grief when he saw that the disciples failed at setting his son free. I believe that as Jesus talked to the father, His heart went out to him too. However, I also believe that Jesus saw a greater issue than the boy being thrown into the fire and water – he saw the father's faith and his internal struggle. Therefore He said to the father, "If you can believe, all things are possible..." (verse 23). Immediately, the father broke down in tears and confesses from the depth of his being, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" (verse 24).

It seems almost cruel to turn the issue around on a desperate dad like that. Jesus could have just healed the son and saved the father from all this anguish, but He wanted help the father too. Before healing his son, Jesus brought the father to the place of prayer, and that single prayer changed his life...help my unbelief! Come to my rescue Lord Jesus. Bring aid to the areas of weak faith in my heart. Beloved, God loves us too much to leave us in our unbelief. One of the Hebrew names for Him is Yahovah Yireh. You may have heard it translated JehovahJireh. This name is typically translated as "Provider," however, the literal meaning of this name is, "Yehovah Sees." In the name Yehovah-Yireh, God reveals Himself as the God who sees the need and provides for it. It carries with it the idea that God will make provision when He sees the need, even if it's an area of unbelief or lack of trust, as we've just learned. Connecting With God In closing, I want to turn our attention to the disciples and the powerful lesson Scripture has given us through their experience in all this. After all was said and done, the boy was healed, and everybody went home, Scripture picks up and says, "And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, 'Why could we not cast it out?'" (Mark 9:28). That is a great question; after all, Jesus had given them power to cast out demons: "Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons" (Mark 3:14-15), and they had done so successfully before: "And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them" (Mark 6:13). However, this time, they were unsuccessful. Jesus' answer alluded to their prayer life and their connection with God. "So He said to them, 'This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting'" (Mark 9:29). When we look at the life of Jesus, we see that He was constantly connecting with the Father through prayer. Jesus lived a life dependent on God, and in return, God provided everything He needed all the way to the Cross.

9

Prayer is simply dialogue between God and man. It's communication between Heaven and earth. It's a time to be honest with God about some of the things we are feeling. It's a time to hear His heart on a matter. It is a time to connect with God and receive what we need from Him and Him alone. I'm not sure of all the difficulties we all will face in 2013, but I know that as we connect to God through prayer, even in our failings, and confess our utter dependence on Him, that He will provide what we need. Amen and Amen. !Tiffany Ann LewisDancing with the Flame of the Lord Ministries Email: tiffanyann@tiffanyannlewis.com

By Dr. John E. Roberts THD's (((((((FAITHQUAKE))))))) Kingdom Reality Lesson #64 God is like a root, you may not see Him PHYSICALLY, but that doesn’t mean He is NOT there? Consider the trees? How about the Red Oaks in California? How large does a root have to be to extend those massive growths up so far? How large are they, and how deep do they extend? In this lesson, I would like to sharpen your awareness of not limiting God who is limitless? Let’s turn our attention toward the Book of Esther, and how that the word GOD is not mentioned, but clearly you can see Him within the borders of its writings. The Book of Esther was the last of the 5 Books known as a collection of Books (aka the Five Megilloth Scrolls) associated along with the five major feasts. During the time of the appropriate feats, the associated Book would have been read. The Books were considered a collections because they were all kept in one scroll (Biblical Numerology determines this as 5 into one or 5 (# of ministry) and 1 (# of God) or the demonstration of the understanding of God’s ministry). The collection of Books are as follows:

1. Song of Solomon 2. Ruth 3. Lamentations 4. Ecclesiastes 5. Esther The associated feast with Esther is the Feast of Purim. This is the commemoration of the great deliverance of the Jews that God brought about through Esther. Now some would question the validity to Esther having place in the Bible, because of the absence of the actual word for GOD not mentioned anytime within the writ of the Book. They justify their belief thru this omission of the word GOD in the pages, and thus should be excluded from it. Now this should not be the reasoning for omitting the Book, because just like my opening, to say that you can’t see the root of the mighty Red Oak tree, doesn’t mean that they do not exist? Nonetheless, let’s consider the following information. Since the main theme of the Book is clearly the providence of God and His care for His people (Abraham’s Kiddos), we should never consider that events and people for that matter is beyond God’s control? Another fact is that (verse 1) the mighty Ahasuerus (Xerxes) was never beyond the control of God, and in fact, it was impossible for Haman to carry out his dreadful intentions while God was protecting His people. The fact that Esther asked the Jews residing in the capital city to fast demonstrates that she was relying on God to resolve the situation; we are talking about Jews here. It is not like they just forgot that God wasn’t involved in their lives? The plan Haman had set into action threatened to annihilate all of God’s Kids. You really think He would forget His promise to His friend Abraham?

14

Although under the rule of Xerxes (Persian Empire), the Jews in that day still were very aware of their father Abraham, even to this day. Remember when Jesus made comment regarding Abraham, and they became so enraged at His comments that they wanted to stone Him? They didn’t forget, and neither did He. The events of this Book took place about 30 years PRIOR to the efforts of Ezra and Nehemiah. Many have suggested that their successes would not have been possible had not Esther, Mordecai, and Daniel paved the way with their conduct and accomplishments. But to throw the baby out with the bath water is a bit much wouldn’t you agree? When you think to consider that God is not in control, consider the Book of Esther? God is not One that He forgets the covenant He made to us through Jesus Christ HIS SON! We look to the world episodes and conclude in wonder and amazement how can God allow this or that to happen? What was He thinking when all those people flew crashing into that building on 911? How can God be in control of a situation that entails the destruction of life before it ever takes a breath? This is where folks confuse the law of sewing and reaping in and with the world with the providence of God CREATOR of everything? If life is like a tree and God is the root? How does the tree consider how strong it is without the root being connected at the foundation level? KNOW WHO GOD IS IN YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN GOD ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN CHRIST – THAT’S WHO!

Truth and Dare

16

BY Jeff Godsown Normally you would think truth or dare, but in this case, think truth and I dare you to walk in it! Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. Luk 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Let us examine these scriptures in a context not taught today from the majority of the pulpits of churches because it’s not popular, and people might leave if the truth be told! When and only when, we come to Christ in truth from our hearts, through the process of time and enlightenment of God’s truth, our hearts become His throne room, then our hearts are turned from stone cold, to heated passion for the things of God. 2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. If we don’t have fleshly hearts, recreated and hand made by God the potter, then how can we be receptive to the things that both please and break our heavenly Father’s heart, desiring more and more with each passing day, to walk God’s way and not ours?

How can we hold and pass on to others the most powerful weapon and cure for mankind, the love of the Lord, if our heart is still stone cold, loving man’s way, all conditional. Why do I say such a thing? Simply put, man’s love is totally conditional on man liking what he sees and or hears, if it’s not pleasing to man, than man abandons and even destroys over time, that person who didn’t quite meet his standard of religiosity or life. That is the reason we have so many people who get hurt in the church today! The soul; the very breath of life given to us by our heavenly Father, from the womb. The air we breathe, both in and out should be like a rose, always pleasant, but instead, for lack of truth and the Holy Spirit, our breath is pungent and odiferous. There are dogs that no matter what you feed them or let them chew on to strengthen and clean their teeth, their breath smells like another dogs butt, well that’s the way some so called self-proclaimed Christians are to others. Their lifestyle does not reflect that of Christ, nor do their heart or deeds, but they will jump up in your face and tell you what a wonderful Christian they are and we should be just like them. They are very deluded people who live their lives in a man-made hand-basket, headed for hell, and they don’t know it nor do they want to, all for the lack of a Christ-like mind. We, who truly are called of God, even to the smallest, most humblest degree, need to pray for them, believing, no matter what we see, that God will change them, even to the bitter end.

17

The mind; We seriously need to have the mind of Christ, in all things. 1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: We must at all cost, resist the mind of men, of the flesh, making certain to not lean to our understanding and interpretation; Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. If we do not do what God has commanded, renewing our minds daily from God’s Word, studying God’s Word, and searching out scriptures, as if it were a pearl of great price, then how can we have the mind of Christ. If we don’t have the mind of Christ, then how can we walk in harmony and unity, thus becoming the most dangerous weapon on earth against the forces of evil and darkness. How can we even think ourselves to be able to do the greater things, Christ spoke; Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. If we could only capture this thought, that it becomes a burning desire in us, oh what we could do for the Kingdom of God! Finally strength; I am a warrior and was forced to be that by man, from the day I was born and in that, my strength came from within me but showing up on the outside of me. Though I have a high IQ, I was not about to be like the geek squad of my school days, because they were really nerdy, according to the standards of children in school at that time. Growing up, I did amazing things with my body, becoming like the incredible hulk, while using my appearance as a means of defense against the school bullies. If you got in my face, you would definitely get to see me puff up in a hurry, letting the bully know, I’m not about to take crap off them or anyone else.

18

This is the way it was for me for more years than Carter has liver pills. I leaned to my own understanding in my own strength, even after coming to the Lord and His salvation, until God got hold of me and began the process of transformation, and He ain’t done with me yet! Remember earlier in this message, how I spoke on feeling the things that please and or hurt our heavenly Father’s heart, we please our Father and bring Him joy when we walk His ways, not ours. Think about this for a moment, have you ever had someone you looked up to commend you for doing something to their liking, how did it make you feel? I’ll bet it made you feel pretty good, and in turn you wanted to do more of the same, because the praise you got invigorated you. That invigoration became a source of strength and it keeps you strong, well that’s how it is with God also. When we please our heavenly Father, He lets us know it one way or another, He’s a proud Papa, and that is what keeps us strong, even confident enough to keep walking the walk we’re called to walk! Let us repent of doing things our way, let’s start doing them God’s way, remembering; 2Co 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: If we show them how it’s done and that it is joyful, then others might just change their ways and become of one mind, one heart, one body, with the Holy Spirit, calling for Christ’s return, Amen!?!

PREDICTION FOR 2013 BY EVANGELIST FAVOR LIBERTY I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR PASTORS TOLD YOU ABOUT 2013; BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND BE PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE. THE PICTURE IS NOT AS BRIGHT AS THEY PAINTED IT TO YOU; YET THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR THOSE WHO.... NOW THE BIBLE PREDICTS THAT THINGS WILL GET WORSE THAN THEY ARE AS WE DRAW CLOSER TO THE DAY OF THE LORD. 2013 WILL BE A YEAR OF ECONOMICAL DARKNESS AND MANY GOVERNMENT WILL FACE UPRISING AND DIFFICULTIES IF THEY ARE NOT COUNTED AMONG THE SAVED OF THE EARTH WHO CAN ONLY FIND SOLUTIONS UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY. THE MIDDLE EAST SITUATION MIGHT GET WORSE BEFORE GETTING BETTER AND A NEW WORLD ORDER WILL BEGIN TO TAKE SHAPE AS THE MIGHT AND STRONG CONTINUE TO TAKE OVER THE REINS OF THE LITTLE. SATANIC RELIGIONS; FALSE PROPHETS/ DOCTRINES WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE THE TRUTH. SPIRITISM FROM HELL PRODUCING SIGNS FOR THE EYES AND NOT SIGNS AND WONDERS FROM THE LIVING GOD ; DEFILING THE NAME OF CHRISTIANITY AND JESUS ; LIES AND EVIL PREDICTIONS FROM HELL PROPHESYING WHAT THE EARS WANT TO HEAR AND NOT WHAT THE LORD SAYS WILL CONTINUE TO OVERRUN THE TRUTH. YET THROUGH THESE DAYS OF DARKNESS OUR GOD HAS PROMISE DELIVERANCE TO HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE. IT IS THEY WHO WILL BE THE LIGHT IN THIS PERIOD OF DARKNESS; EVEN THOUGH THEY WILL BE PERSECUTED, OVERLOOKED AND DISREGARDED. THE NUMBERS OF THE FAITHFUL WILL BE DECREASE AS WOLVES TAKE OVER THE RANKS.

YET ONLY THOSE IN THE LIGHT WILL BE VICTORIOUS AND OVER COMERS IN THE YEAR 2013.(JOEL 2:30-32) " 21

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call."

On the western side of the island there were big black beast roaming through the streets. They had an appearance like that of lions, and their legs were very muscular. All of the people ran into hiding from these terrible looking beasts. An urgent cry rang out from the people, they said, "Get out of the streets, for the beasts are there." Yet, I was not afraid, and was walking among these beasts. One of the beast stood directly on his hind feet in front of a dwelling house - He was as tall as the house making it impossible for anyone to come out and no one could go in. There was one particular beast, he was so terrible so much so, an angel had him on a leash. I walked close by this beast and he could not harm me. I awakened - it was a dream which seemed all so real leaving me a bit troubled. At that very moment, the Word resounded from the book of Revelation 19:19-21, (19)"And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army." (20)"Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image, these were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone." (21)"And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh." The Word continued speaking going into Revelation 20 leaving me absolutely speechless, (1)"The I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand." (2)"He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;" (3)"and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while." Could it be, that you and I are now living in the time of Satan being released for a short time? The Word continued speaking, (4)"And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years." (5)"But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished.

22

This is the first resurrection." (6)" Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." Take careful note of what is happening here in the Bahamas and all across the globe. People are being deceived - Could it be, that everything happening be an indicator of the finale battle between the Lamb? Could it be, we are now living in the time, when Satan is about to be loosed from his prison? Or has he been loosed already? Read verse (7)"Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison" (8)"and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea." Could it be that you and I are living in the time of the end? (9)"They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them." (10)"The devil, who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Still speechless, the Word continued, (11)"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them." (12)"And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books." (13)"The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works." (14)"Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." Listen, as the stage is being set for the beast to launch his attack on the Lamb; will your name (mine too) be found in the Book of Life? If your answer (mine too) is negative Read it for yourself what will happen to you and to me from verse (15)"And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." In my dream, there was a terrible black beast on a leash held by an angel - Could it be that Satan holds the leash and is the Master Mind behind the beast, who is about to make war with the Lamb, who is Jesus Christ?

23

You and I must get our house (ourselves) in order, so that not only will our names be found in the Book of Life, but that we will be at the final battle - The Battle of Armageddon! Be there!

"JUST JESUS!" WRITTEN BY Prophetess Sister Mary Bolden

YOU'VE TRIED EVERYTHING THE WORLD HAS OFFERED YOU; "THE AMERICAN DREAM" IS TO HAVE THINGS THAT ONLY HAVE TEMPORAL VALUE IN CAUSING YOU TO SMILE FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE. YOU BOUGHT A HOUSE; A CAR; NEW FURNITURE; CLOTHES;, JEWELRY, ETC. AND IT WAS ALL WONDERFUL TO HAVE IN THE BEGINNING WHEN THEY WERE ALL NEW TO YOU. THEN, THE CAR GOT OLD AND STARTED GIVING YOU VARIOUS PROBLEMS THAT CAUSED REPAIRS. SO, IT BECAME MORE AND MORE A BURDEN TO HAVE TO PAY FOR CAR REPAIR AFTER CAR REPAIR. SO, THEN IT BECAME THE QUESTION, "DO I PAY FOR THE CAR REPAIRS AGAIN AND RUN SHORT OF MONEY TO PAY FOR THE CAR INSURANCE? OR , DO I PAY THE CAR INSURANCE AND LEAVE IT SIT UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO GET THE CAR REPAIRS?" AND THEN THE HOUSE WAS SUCH A BLESSING IN THE BEGINNING WHEN YOU FIRST BOUGHT IT . YOU COULD'VE NEVER THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE PLUMBLING PROBLEMS; ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS; ROOFING NEEDED; PAINTING THE OUTSIDE, AND THEN MAYBE THE INSIDE, TOO. ALL OF WHICH COSTS SOOOO MUCH MONEY!

26

WELL, NOW IT'S BECOMING SUCH A BURDEN, YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT SELLING IT AND DOWNSIZING. BUT, IN THE BEGINNING YOU LOVED THAT HOUSE SO MUCH AND IT'S WHERE THE CHILDREN ALL GREW UP IN AND NOW, THEY'RE ABOUT TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND NEXT, IT'S OFF TO COLLEGE. WELL, THE THOUGHT OF HOW MUCH IT'S GOING TO COST TO SEND THEM OFF , ONE BY ONE, TO COLLEGE IS OVERWHELMING!!

WELL, NOW YOUR BODY IS BEGINNING TO LET YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF IT ALSO. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WENT TO THE DOCTOR FOR A CHECK UP? OH, THAT LONG HUH? AND YOU ALSO NEED SOME DENTAL WORK DONE THAT YOU'VE BEEN PUTTING OFF GETTING DONE. YES, YOU HAVE MEDICAL AND DENTAL INSURANCE COMING OUT OF YOUR CHECK, BUT THEY ONLY PAY 80% AND THAT 20% IS LOOKING TOO EXPENSIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE KIDS NEED NEW SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR SCHOOL, ETC. YOU ALSO HAD STARTED SAVING FOR VACATION THIS SUMMER AND YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE THIS LAST FAMILY VACATION BEFORE THE KIDS ARE GONE OFF TO COLLEGE. EVERYTHING IS JUST SOOO VERY EXPENSIVE AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW YOU'RE GOING TO PULL IT ALL OFF! SO NOW, IT'S ABOUT GETTING YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT TO SAVE FOR....THE KID'S COLLEGE TUITION? YOUR OWN NEEDS FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION AND DENTAL ATTENTION? FAMILY VACATION? AND BY THE WAY, YOU ALSO HAVE TO SAVE TOWARDS RETIREMENT! WOW! YOU ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THAT IMPORTANT NEED. IN A FEW SHORT YEARS YOU WILL DEFINETLY NEED TO DO MORE THAN JUST THINK ON RETIREMENT, BUT ACT ON IT AS FAR AS MAKING RETIREMENT INVESTMENTS SO THAT YOU CAN BE SELF-SUFFICIENTLY BLESSED AND NOT HAVE TO DEPEND ON YOUR CHILDREN , WHO WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HELP YOU ANYWAY, OR MAYBE BORROW MONEY THAT YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO PAY BACK.? WELL, MAYBE YOU'VE SPENT TOO MUCH TRYING TO HAVE THAT AMERICAN DREAM COME TRUE. IT'S BECOMING SOOO VERY DIFFICULT TO HAVE IT ALL COME TO PASS THE WAY THAT YOU DREAMED AND HOPED IT WOULD. AND IF YOU'RE IN MINISTRY, SUCH AS PASTORING; YOU HAVE TO THINK OF GOD'S CHURCH FIRST. I MEAN YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER THE FAMILY OF GOD AS WELL AS YOUR OWN PERSONAL FAMILY'S NEEDS.

27

28

SO , HERE YOU ARE AGAIN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT SHOULD COME FIRST AND HOW YOU CAN SUPPLY OR HELP GET IT ALL TOGETHER FOR BOTH THE FAMILY OF GOD AS WELL AS YOUR OWN FAMILY? I MEAN, IT'S EXPECTED OF YOU AS THE PASTOR TO BE SURE THE NEEDS OF THE CHURCH FOLK WHO MAY BE UNEMPLOYED AND COME TO YOU (THE PASTOR) FOR HELP, ARE MET. THEN, IT'S BEGINNING TO SEEM LIKE MORE ARE IN TROUBLE FINANCIALLY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST THAN ARE TITHING AND GIVING IN OFFERING. IN SHORT, MORE IS GOING OUT THAN IS COMING IN. OR SO IT SEEMS. YOU DON'T HAVE THE HEART TO TURN ANYONE AWAY, BUT IT'S GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHEREAS YOU HAVE TO SAY, "SORRY, BUT THE CHURCH IS RUNNING SHORT TO EVEN BE ABLE TO PAY THE UTILITIES AND KEEP THINGS FUNCTIONING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD. SO ,YOU GO BEFORE THE CHURCH AND HAVE TO FEEL EMBARRASSED TO SAY , "WE DON'T HAVE MONEY ENOUGH TO PAY OUR BILLS HERE AND WE NEED THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO HELP US RAISE MONEY. SO , YOU ASK FOR THE DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS (MISSIONARY, SUNDAY SCHOOL, CHOIR) , ETC. TO START SOME SORT OF FUND RAISERS TO BRING MORE MONEY INTO THE CHURCH HOUSE FOR THE SAKE OF PAYING THE MORTGAGE, UTILITIES, ETC.

AND SOME ARE SURE TO GRIPE BECAUSE THEY'RE REMEMBERING ALL THE TITHES AND OFFERINGS THEY USED TO BE ABLE TO GIVE WHEN THEY WERE EMPLOYED ON REALLY GOOD PAYING JOBS, BUT NOW HAVE BEEN "LET GO". OR THEY HAD BUSINESSES THAT WENT UNDER AND NOW NEED THE CHURCH'S HELP, BUT ARE TOLD THEY CAN'T HELP THEM FINANCIALLY, BUT ONLY SOME CAN GOODS OR CLOTHES DONATED TO THE CHURCH. WELL , WHAT ABOUT SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. DIDN'T GOD PROMISE THAT IF YOU SEEK HIS KINGDOM FIRST , HE WOULD BRING ALL OTHER THINGS TO YOU THAT YOU HAVE NEED OF? AND TO THOSE WHO HAVE JUST BEEN "TIPPING GOD" WITH A $2 OR $3 HERE AND THERE WHEN YOU KNEW YOU HAD MORE TO GIVE, BUT WOULDN'T.....YOU NOW HAVE TO REAP JUST WHAT YOU HAVE SOWN AND THAT IS VERY LITTLE BLESSINGS COMING YOUR WAY. AND YOU'RE MADE TO FEEL LIKE A BEGGAR PERHAPS BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GIVE TO THAT HOMELESS PERSON WHEN YOU COULD HAVE, BUT NOW YOU HAVE SUCH A NEED AND CAN HARDLY GET BY YOURSELF. wHAT DOES THE WORD OF GOD SAY IN LUKE 6:38? IT SAYS, "GIVE , AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU; GOOD MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER , MEN SHALL GIVE INTO YOUR BOSOM." BUT , IT YOU ARE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, HAVE YOU ALWAYS GIVEN AS MUCH AS YOU COULD'VE IN TIMES PAST WHEN YOU WERE BLESSED WITH THAT JOB THAT PAID YOU WELL ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY, AND THEN YOU WENT OUT AND SPENT IT ON SOMETHING FOOLISH THAT YOU REALLY DIDN'T NEED, BUT WALKED PAST A HOMELESS/POOR AND NEEDY PERSON THAT YOU SAID WAS JUST LAZY AND NEEDED TO GET A JOB LIKE YOU. NOT KNOWING THEN, LIKE YOU FOUND OUT NOW, THAT PERSON MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET A JOB. MAYBE THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES WERE THRUST UPON THEM AND THEY COULDN'T HELP IT AT THE TIME.

29

NOW , YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE IN NEED AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY FROM EVEN YOUR RELATIVES, WHO TURN THEIR BACKS ON YOU JUST LIKE YOUR "SO-CALLED" FRIENDS DO. MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE HURTING ALSO. NOW, YOU FIND YOURSELF CRYING OUT FOR HELP. YOU'VE TRIED FAMILY , BUT THEY WEREN'T AVAILABLE WHEN YOU CALLED THEIR NUMBER. YOU TURNED TOYOUR BEST FRIENDS, SHE NOR HE HAD IT FOR YOU. THEY SAID BEFORE THAT ANY TIME YOU NEEDED HELP , "THEY HAD YOUR BACK". BUT, NOW YOU'RE GETTING THEIR BACK TURNED TOWARDS YOU. SO, YOU FINALLY REALIZE THAT NOBODY BUT THE LORD JESUS IS LEFT TO CALL ON. IT'S GOTTEN TO THE PLACE WHERE JUST JESUS CAN BAIL YOU OUT OF TROUBLES, HARD SHIPS, HEART ACHES, AND PAIN. WELL, WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG TO FIND OUT THAT "JUST JESUS" WAS THE ANSWER FROM THE START? YOU WENT ALLL AROUND THE MALL BERRY BUSH ,ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT "JUST JESUS" WAS THERE ALLL THE TIME. THAT'S RIGHT! HE WAS WAIITING ON YOU TO CALL ON HIM AND HE ALREADY HAD THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEMS. "JUST JESUS " SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST PERSON YOU CALLED ON, BUT INSTEAD, YOU WERE TRYING TO MAKE THAT DREAM COME TRUE ALL ON YOUR OWN STRENGTH. YOU FORGOT THAT JESUS WAS THE ONE WHO WOKE YOU UP THIS MORNING, STARTED YOU ON YOUR WAY, GAVE YOU THE ACTIVITY OF YOUR LIMBS, GAVE YOU A VOICE TO TALK, EYES TO SEE, EARS TO HEAR AND LEGS TO WALK. YOU FORGOT ALSO THAT JESUS WAS THE ONE WHO OPENED THAT DOOR FOR YOU ON THE BEST JOB YOU EVER HAD IN YOUR LIFE OR MAYBE YOU'VE CONSIDERED IT AS JUST A JOB, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL, UNTIL YOU LOST IT! DON'T ALLOW YOURSELF TO GET TO THE PLACE WHEREAS YOU FEEL THAT WELL NOBODY CARES OR UNDERSTANDS ABOUT ME OR MY CIRCUMSTANCES SO , I GUESS I'LL CALL ON JESUS BECAUSE HE'S ALL I'VE GOT LEFT TO CALL ON WHO WILL

30

HEAR ME AND ANSWER MY PRAYERS. THAT'S THE WRONG ATTITUDE TO HAVE TO SAY WELL , JUST JESUS IS ALL I HAVE LEFT TO CALL ON. MAKE JESUS THE FIRST ONE THAT YOU CALL ON AND WAIT PATIENTLY BECAUSE HE SAIYS, "CALL UNTO ME AND I WILL ANSWER AND SHOW YOU GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS." HE'S WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU, PEOPLE OF GOD. CALL ON HIM BECAUSE HE IS JEHOVAH-JIREH , OUR SUPPLIER OF ALL THAT WE STAND IN NEED OF. CALL ON HIM BECAUSE HE IS JEHOVAH-SHALOM; THE GOD OF PEACE, EVEN IN THE MIDST OF TURMOIL AND STRIFE. CALL ON JESUS ANY TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT AND HE WILL BE THERE FOR YOU. HE NEVER SLEEPS NOR SLUMBERS. HE IS JUST THE ONE YOU AND I NEED AT ALL TIMES. HE'S EL SHADDAI; THE ALMIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL, ALL SUFFICIENT, AND MORE THAN ENOUGH GOD! JUST JESUS CAN BE THERE WITH YOU AND ME AT THE SAME TIME. HE'S OMNIPRESENT. JUST JESUS CAN SHOW UP AND SHOW FORTH HIS MIGHTY , MIRACULOUS POWER WHEN YOU OR I OR IN TROUBLE AND NOONE ELSE CAN HELP US. REMEMBER AND DON'T FORGET TO PUT YOUR COMPLETE FAITH, HOPE, TRUST, AND BELIEF IN JESUS....AND HIM ALONE. JUST JESUS!~! LOVE IN CHRIST JESUS , PROPHETESS SISTER MARY BOLDEN

What Faith?

32

How do you think you would feel if the Lord asked you; “what faith are we teaching those in our charge, if we don’t live it”? Well, for me it was doing the stupid human nature thing, my first thought was what am I teaching that you haven’t taught me? Of course, the Lord answered me and said what makes you think I was talking about you, or the things I’ve taught you? That was sort of embarrassing, I thought the thoughts and God heard me, though the words never left my mouth, I really should have remembered that about Him. Imagine if you will, God the Father coming to you and asking you the same thing, “what faith are we teaching those in our charge, if we don’t live it?” How do you suppose that would make you feel, and what do you supposed your first thoughts would be? Faith, this word has time and time again been improperly translated, causing some minor, to major effects on our belief system when it comes to understanding God’s Word, and what is expected of us. Faith taken from the Hebrew word emunah which means; Direct translation; Faith, the Emunah of the true Dat HaYehudit, truth, faithfulness, fidelity, stability, faithfully, truthfully Strong’s H530 'ĕmûnâh 'ĕmûnâh em-oo-naw', em-oo-naw' Feminine of H529; literally firmness; figuratively security; moral fidelity: - faith (-ful, -ly, -ness, [man]), set office, stability, steady, truly, truth, verily. The AHLB tells us that Faith means to stand strong and unwavering in God’s truth of His Word, so why aren’t we? What faith is it we’re standing in, but more importantly, who’s watching and what are they seeing? While I was still able to go out there and work head to head and toe to toe with those in the construction workforce,

one of the things I noticed, when a company would hire someone that did garbage work with garbage ideals and performance, they refused to fire them. This is something I never understood, as I also had a rather large company, but apparently I worked on different principles than all the rest. When I asked why they didn’t get rid of these worthless employees, their general response was, the person they send in to replace them could be even worse than what and who they had. That really sounded off the wall stupid to me, I had a simple premise, you either did things my way and to my standards, or you just didn’t work for me, I fired a lot of people. Well, it would seem the same basic principle the world has, has also befallen the church, as far as those in leadership go. Can’t or shouldn’t get rid of them, because we might get someone worse, or no one at all. So the strange question comes to mind here, are you going to trust God to fill the need, or will you continue to let people who do not live by faith in God and the truth of His Word, lead people down a strange path? Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? I do not have a problem steeping people down till they are properly trained for leadership, because it’s not men I’m pleasing. I will put into place the person God said to put into place, without worry or concern that maybe the former might leave or I might be missing their tithes and offerings. I would rather however; take the time to train up leadership in the way they should go, that they will continually display to their subordinates, true faith in God and in the truth of His Word. The head leadership in the church will answer for a lot of things he or she may not be aware of, but that leadership should know, they are responsible for bringing life to the body, that also includes those that have charge over others. When the Son of man, the Son of God returns, will He find faith, will He find God’s truth, will He find faithfulness to God? What faith are we teaching those in charge if we don’t live it and what faith are they teaching those whom they have charge over? Is it God’s truth, is it trusting God to fulfill His promises, is it raising up the living and restoring life back to the lifeless, or is it trusting man and His products and services, to see us through? What faith are we teaching those in charge and what faith are they teaching those whom they have charge over? The time for Christ’s return is short and getting shorter with each passing moment, isn’t it time we repented and started doing everything,

33

God’s way? Are we going to be people pleaser, or will we forsake our own lives and want to be liked, to be God pleasers? God knows the deepest darkest recesses of our hearts, isn’t it time we started seeking Him and His way, looking for His approval? Mat 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about works, I’m talking about walking fully in faith, that which means to stand strong and unwavering in God’s truth of His Word, and teaching others to do the very same. Amen!

Repentance--What Is It? : BY KENNETH WHITE

35

Repentance means changing one`s mind, so that one`s views, values, goals, and ways are changed, and one`s whole life is lived differently. Mind and judgment, will and affections, behavior and lifestyle, motives and plans; are all involved. Repenting means starting to live a new life. The call to repent was the fundamental sermons in the preaching of John the Baptist(Matt 3:2), Jesus(Matt 4:17), the twelve (Mark 6:12), Peter at Pentecost(Acts 2:38), Paul to the Gentiles(Acts 17:30; 26:20), and the glorified Christ to five of the seven Churches in Asia(Rev. 2:5, 16, 22; 3:3, 19). It was part of Jesus`s summary of the gospel that was to be taken to all the world(Luke 24:47). It corresponds to the constant summons of the Old Testament Prophets to Israel to return to the God from whom they had strayed(e.g., Jer.23:22; 25:4, 5;Zech 1:3-6). Repentance is always set forth as the path to remission of sins and restoration to God`s favor, while impenitence is the road to ruin(e.g., Luke 13:18). Faith and repentance are themselves fruits of regeration. But as a practical matter, repentance is inseperapable from faith. Turning towards Christ in faith is impossible without turning away from sin in repentance. The idea that there can be saving faith without repentance, and that you can be justified by embraceing Christ as Saviour while refusing Him as lord, is a dangerous error. True faith acknowledges Christ as what He is, our God appointed King as well as our God given priest, and faith that trusts in him as Saviour will submit to Him as Lord also. To refuse this is to seek justification with and impenitant faith, which is no faith.

The Westminster Confession says that in repenting--`a sinner out of the sight and senses, not only of the danger, but also the filthiness ond odiousness of his sins, contrary to the Holy nature and righteous nature of God, and upon apprehension of his mercy in Christ to such as are penitant, so grieves for and hates his sins as to turn from them all unto God, purposing and endeavoring to walk with Him in all the ways of His Commandments`(Westminister Confession, 15-2). Feelings of remorse, self reproach, and sorrow for sin generated by fear of punishment, without any wish or resolve to forsake sinning should not be confused with repentance. David expresses true repentance in Psalms ch 51, having his heart the serious purpose of sinning no more, and living a righteous life. (Acts 26:20; Luke 3:8)...UNK

THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

39

MEMORY VERSE: "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee."(Psalm 9:10) BIBLE READING: Philippians 2:8-11 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

40

This year, all will be well with you and everything you have. Matthew 1:21 says, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall savTHe his people from their sins."The name of our Saviour that is made available to us is one assurance that all will be well with us. All will be well because being the healer, Jesus will heal the sick according to His promise in Exodus 15:26. In this scripture, He says you are automatically insured against every sickness that has ever afflicted the Egyptians. If you have Jesus the Great Physician, you will not be a victim of known sicknesses or diseases. Are you afflicted with any known or disease today? You are healed by His stripes in Jesus name. Unknown sicknesses or diseases will also lose their power when the Great Physician is in control.

Are specialists telling you that the sickness or disease in your body is beyond known scientific discovery? The stripes of Jesus Christ will destroy them from your body system today! I command every known or unknown, seen or unseen sickness to lose its hold over your body! You are healed now. Similarly, because Jesus is the mighty Deliverer, you shall be delivered from every force or power that has taken you into captivity. John 10:10 says Jesus Christ has come to reverse whatever the devil has done in your life and sitation. This means, if Satan has stolen your freedom, you can have it back. If you have lost your peace to a distressing situation, you can have it back. Are you enslaved to certain spiritual or physical forces? You are set free today in the name that is above every other name - Jesus. In that dungeon that the enemy has placed you, you are coming out now by the power of His name! That chain over your destiny is broken now! Whatever is holding your hands from functioning properly is destroyed now. Whatever is hindering you from moving to your next level is destroyed in Jesus name. In whatever contrary situation you find yourself, just call on the only name that can make the difference - Jesus! THE FATHER'S BLESSING: "I pray for you in the name of Jesus Let all your stolen blessings be restored to you a thousand fold! By the power in the name of Jesus that divided the Red sea, let every situation in your life receive the touch of fire in Jesus name! Friend, you may be in a situation today that looks impossible, but never rule out the favour of God and the power in the name of Jesus to set you free! Job went through one of the most trying times any person could ever endure. He lost his family, his business and his health. But in the midst of that dark hour: Job said to God, "You have granted me life and favour ( Job 12:10 )! In your trying time, when you are in the midst of the valley and shadow of death the power in the name of Jesus that raised Lazarus from the dead will speak life into your situation!

41

When his circumstances appeared darkest and most helpless, Job was saying, "God, I don't care what the situation looks like or how badly I feel. You are a good God. Your favour is going to turn this situation around". God will open doors for you in Jesus Name! Today, I declare that the goodness of God is all over you in the name of Jesus! You shall fulfil porpose in the name of Jesus! You shall fulfil destiny in the name of Jesus! It shall be well with you, body, soul and spirit in the mighty name of Jesus!" (Amen)! PRAYER POINT FOR TODAY: Father, honour the call of everyone who calls You in faith and truth as You have promised. STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD: Philippians 2:9-11 "9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 andthat every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

The Powerhouse of Partnering with God!

Its commonplace with most employers hiring prospective employees to have them undergo psychometric testing. These tests although not entirely foolproof, provides a near to concise indication of an individual's abilities and skill set. It details strengths and weaknesses, leanings and tendencies. How reliable are these measures? Many people have been disadvantaged by the results of these logic and personality tests, ruling them out of positions that they would otherwise have flourished in. Who can truly know our abilities, our potential, and our capacity like our Creator can? These are standards adopted outside of Gods system, of Gods order, of Gods final verdict!

Each of us is wired differently, so much so that we're distinctly unique by our personalized genetic form, our DNA, our own set of fingerprints and eyes! Yes when God affirmed us as fearfully and wonderfully made, He meant every word. What's more radical about our radical God, is that He will use the least among us, for great exploits. Repeatedly in Scripture we see this 'logic' applied. Let aside coming to grasp the enormity of freeing the Israelite's out of Egyptian clutches, Moses could not even come to terms with approaching Pharaoh. Moses said to the Lord, "Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."Exodus 4:10. Really? "Who made mouths?" Now go I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." Exodus 4:11-12. Even when Moses repeatedly faltered in his confidence, God empowered Him, God enabled Him, and God reminded Him of what He had in his hand. What do you have in your hand? God reminds us of our capacity; He speaks deep within our core and calls out the potential, the skill-set that He has birth in each of us. You don't have to be great at any of your gifts and talents; it's transferring that skill to Gods Will and allowing Him to take over. Yes He will help us speak and teach us what to say, this is the powerhouse of partnering with God. He takes what we have and manifests it for His Glory, for His Honour, for His Purpose. Remember the sons of Zebedee who had fished all night and caught nothing? They were accomplished fishermen; it was their trade and livelihood, but when Jesus instructed them to set out on the same waters and to cast their nets on the other side, they obeyed and brought in their biggest catch, much to their astonishment. He promised to make them fishers of men and they went on to fulfilling this calling. You see our skills; our abilities and even our circumstances have little or no bearing on what God can do within and through us. In fact He delights in showing Himself strong through the weak, through the disadvantaged, the least likely, the disenfranchised and the unknown. How else can we truly be effective witnesses for Him, if we do not fully surrender all that we have, all that we possess, and all that we are to Him?!

44

The worlds system may rule you out; give you a limited "shelf-life" or "sell by date" but not God! All He requires is a willing heart, an 'empty vessel 'that longs to be used. You have to come to a place of confidence and hope in the God of the impossible. It's all about partnership with Him. You and God are a majority. There's no other formidable partnership. Coupled with Gods anointing and favour you will conquer every mountain, every valley, and every place on which your foot shall step, yes you will!

For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. 1 Corinthians 3:9 Women of Worth International assist Pastors to start and maintain an effective Women's Ministry. Pass The Test 46

There is a realm within the Spirit and purpose of God when it comes to the revelation of the Kingdom where God allows your testing to prove your transformation or lack thereof to you. He knows you, your thoughts, your frame, the way you think and it is right in the midst of test that the real you is going to surface either to the good or the bad. When you pass a test you feel great, like when you first got your Drivers License. You were on top of the world. Why??? Because you past a test that threatened to be an obstacle to your liberty, your freedom to drive. The Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted of the Devil. Jesus went into the wilderness knowing who He was and defeated the Devil with the Word of God and came out with power preaching the Kingdom of God, healing the sick and casting out demons. Don't think for a moment God didn't know what or who Jesus was made of. Perhaps you've been wondering why it seems you are in such a wilderness place and its as though you are just being harassed by the Devil. Well its for one or two reasons. The first is the Holy Spirit has led you into this place because if you handle it right you are going to past the test and come out with power, preaching the Kingdom,

healing the sick and casting out devils or You've been studying the Kingdom but you don't understand it, and your lack of understanding is inviting the Devil's attack. Remember Jesus said, and who knew better than Jesus, that anyone hearing the word (message) of the Kingdom and understanding it not, then the wicked (Poneros - Devil himself) comes to snatch away the word that was sown in your heart. Does it seem like the Devil is throwing everything at you all at once to include the kitchen sink. Don't take it. Let the Devil know that you know who you are and begin to exercise authority over the situation now. Defeat him in the wilderness and come out with power. FOUNDATIONS OF THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY Pastor Wole Gbogboade 48

Text: Luke 9:1-6 Definition of Christian ministry: Cambridge advanced learner’s dictionary defines “the ministry” as the job of being a priest in some part of the Christian Church. I love this definition from the secular yet, explaining or interpreting the Bible correctly. Ministry as far as the scripture is concerned is being a priest. The bible says, we are made kings and priest unto our God. To be a priest of the New testament Church therefore, you must be born again. The Old Testament priesthood is hereditary and given to the tribe of Levi. God said that Aaron and his children would be priests. However, in the New Testament written in the blood of Jesus Christ, any believer is king and priest. Yet, the Lord still calls some Believers into the ministry particularly the five-fold ministry which are governmental offices in the body. There are some other gifts also. 1Cor. 12, Rom. 12:6-8. The gift is different from the office or call. The former compliments the latter and not vice versa. The gifts compliment the office to demonstrate God’s power. The Ministry: The Call: in the New Testament, the saints have to receive the call of God for their lives directly from the Lord. Rom. 10:14-15

The Lord’s basic calling upon His Ministers is to preach the gospel and teach the word of God. Luke 9:1-2; 10:1-9; Matt. 10:1-8. The message now is the kingdom of God. That was the calling He received from the Father too. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:1

It is true that Jesus said He has not come to condemn the law or the prophets but to fulfill it. Matt 5:17-18. The Old Testament is established on the law. The law is in three parts: Ceremonial law, Civil law and Moral law. By the shedding of His blood, Jesus in the New Testament abolished the shedding of animal blood for cleansing but, He upholds the principles of love of God and holiness still count. In case of civil law, we see in Deut. 24:10-11 for example. Though technology has eroded most of these laws yet, the Lord still upholds the principles. Finally, the moral law which is the 10 commandments is still in place till today. Therefore, we cannot say we are in the New Testament and refuse to obey it. The Law is all about love, godly living and good/godly interpersonal relationship with others. The law is for our common good. 1John 5:3. Now the New Testament Church is founded on the Apostle’s doctrines and the prophets which are based on the teachings and doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph. 2:20. (v.19-22) “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1Cor. 3:11

Jesus is our example of and in the ministry: Matthew 4:17 The anointing comes first to enable Him preach the gospel. Luke 4:18-19 Jesus’ commission to His disciples is to preach, save and make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV); Mark 16:15-20; Acts 1:8; 2Cor. 5:18. Then, signs will follow and He will be with us till the end of the age.

49

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” John 20:2, John 5:19, 30. John 17:18. Ref Heb. 5:5. Note: These days, many Christians have been ordained simply because they attended Bible College. Bible College is good because it gives one the opportunity for more knowledge of the Bible. However, a call into the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ is from above. The Lord is the One who calls. If you have attended Bible College, continue to serve the Lord in your local Church until He calls you and tells you what to do. Do the ministry work until you are called into the ministry so as not to create problem in the spiritual order. Our God is not an author of confusion. “John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” John 3:27

“Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Rom. 8:30 Five-fold ministry: The governmental gifts are to be used primarily to disciple the Believers in the Church. Eph 4:11-14; Luke 10:19-20. Therefore, the epitome of the ministry is to raise disciples who are rooted and grounded in the faith and not babies tossed about by every wave of doctrine. These are matured brethren who will carry on the work of the Great commission to advance God’s kingdom here on earth. The work of the ministry is different from the ministry: The Ministry is for a believer who receives directly from the Lord a ministry. “And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.” Col. 4:17

50

Work of the ministry is for believers who help carry out assignments in the ministry such as Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses and Church or Ministry workers. Many Pastors these days fall into this category. They pastor but not called. There are also false apostles and teachers who are not teaching sound doctrine either for the purpose of merchandising or due to wrong Christian foundation. We must be careful. 2Cor 11:13, 2Peter 2:1, Jude 4. “Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.” 2Tim. 4:11, Heb 9:21.

Disciples of our Lord’s apostleship: The Lord Himself called twelve of His disciples into the office of Apostle. “And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles. Luke 6:13, 22:14.

51

“Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen.” Acts 1:2 Paul & Barnabas’ apostleship: The call of these itinerant ministers to the governmental office of Apostle can be found in Acts 13:1-3. “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24; 1Tim. 1:12. ((((((((FAITHQUAKE))))))) What's wrong with being real and saved at the same time? 53

BY DR. JOHN ROBERTS Maybe I don't feel like coming to 'service' today? What if I answered your question of "how am I?" with something else beside 'I'm blessed & highly favored" would you accept my reality? If I didn't say all the religious cliches your way, play the church games just right, would you judge? What if my search for being Christlikeness involved something other than doing it this way or that with this group's method or the other; what if looking the life of a perfect christian is not in my capability? What if I am all jacked up, would that give you the right to ignore me and decide that I'm just out of 'your' order of doing things; and obviously since I don't hold membership I guess I am just not living right? So what if I don't have it all together? So what if I have a run of 'bad luck' that must mean I have obviously got sin in my life and I must be doing something terribly wromg? If a lot of bad things happen to me that warrants your determing that I must have some sort of faught or worse an evil spirit of some kind, and now you can justify your Scriptural actions to 'be ye seperated and grant your actions to divide? All my problems must mean I got to be doing something against God? All of this sounds harsh, but the more harsh reality is this is exactly what truely sincere people of God go through each and every Sunday! I have heard recently a minister friend of mine whom I hold in high regard say that 11 o'clock on Sunday is the most segregated hour of the week. How true and sad that is.

Ever wonder why someone stopped coming to your service or 'church'? Did you just make a judgement call and instead of finding out for yourself and agree with those around you that the person in question was just being divisional, when one simple phone call could have made all the difference in their return to worship God? Did you even pick up the phone and make that call at all to them asking them 'what's up' 'are you ok?' Did you ever bother to find out why they stopped coming in the first place? Or did you simply agree with the democratic guestimate that they just wasn't a part of your click and ignored their absence? Did you even waive bye at them as they held their head in their hands while tears were streaming thru their fingers simply needing a touch, a hug, or a even a handkerchief? Did you even seek to try? Washing your hands is easy, made easier when soap is applied. Be careful that what you don't bath your hands with is their blood? Seeking sincerity in Kingdom relationship will always leave a better taste in the mouth of those who witness your ability to respond right. People are getting hurt more than we care to mention because someone at a service wants a good show. Children of God are being spiritually molested all for nickels and noses to be kept high and the ratings even higher. Got to look spiritual so the audience will return for another curtain call. If we don't stop putting on religious shows and become relationally real more and more will get hurt and some even worse. The solution is simple, you can be saved and be real at the same time! Blessings to all who journey this side of eternity, and may His face shine upon your path to make it straight and may the apple of His eye always see you doing right and may His Body be as One as He our O Great King is One!

COURAGOUS BY PASTOR JOEL MCNABB Dear saints, now a days it takes courage to not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. They don’t want you to believe the only way to Salvation by the Power of God, to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to us Gentiles. They don’t want to hear you believe in Jesus. If you truly believe, never back down on the Salvation that has been given you, if you believe and are courageous you will stand before your God with head held high. “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you’’ (Deuteronomy 31:6). It is going to take those who are strong and courageous to stand faithful to what the Lord has revealed to us. God reveals His work from faith to faith, and we who are believers are to grow by what He reveals, then be able to stand rooted and grounded in truth. Courage will follow when Faith takes the lead. “Teach me thy way, O Lord , and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (Ps 27:11-14). When we learn the Lord’s ways, He will lead us in a path that is clear to see, even when the enemy is in pursuit, and we feel like giving in, we have to believe God is god and in Him is life, so we wait on Him. It take bravery to stand when it looks like all will fail, but we can remain faithful, and He will be our strength.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” (Ro 1:16-18). “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2Tim 1:8-10). Courage empowers you to speak up for what you believe is right and to live according to your beliefs. To not be ashamed of what you know is the truth. Holding on to your values and remain true to them in the face of challenges. Sometimes when everyone else is doing the same thing just because everyone else is, it is daunting to stand for what you believe. Be strong. Be courageous. Be faithful. “Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

56

There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest (Jos 1:1-9). After the death of Moses, Joshua was commissioned by God to take the promised land, and he and the children of Israel would have to be courageous to go through the land and keep His word. In this passage God says it three times, and with two or three witnesses every word is established, so if God says it more than once means it will come to pass. “And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age. And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age: And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you. Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward. And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you. Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

57

That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them: But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day. For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you” (Jos 23:1-10). Reason to be in a good mood!! Love, courageous, be brave, be happy, joyous! “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Mt 5:11-12). There is a need to pray for men today. God says, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ez 22:30). WHERE ARE THE MEN WHO WILL BE COURAGEOUS, STAND IN THE GAP? WHERE ARE THE MEN WHO WILL STAND UP FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS? Men, will you stand in the gap for your marriage? for your children? for your country? God is looking for you! " Physical courage, which despises all danger, will make a man brave in one way; and moral courage, which despises all opinion, will make a man brave in another." “Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow. He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning?

58

I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came. They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved. But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” Isa (41:1-10). Here we see God is going to renew the strength of the believers, when the enemy comes in to destroy, the who have the courage to believe will pass safely, as when the children of Israel had their backs up against the Red Sea, with Pharaoh breathing down their necks, God said, “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”. Then one believer will encourage the other, because they will be called, chosen, and faithful. This will all happen the Lord, the first and with the last of the generations from the beginning, from Adam to Noah, who walked with God, it is He. “Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

59

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD” (Ps 31:19-24).

“Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. QUIT: to make a man of or make brave, to show one's self a man, be brave” (1Co 16:13). We are to stand our ground, the old English word quit, meaning to equip ourselves like mature believers, with the word of God, watching and sober when the Lord shall come, and establish His kingdom here on earth. 1Ch 28:19* All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. 20* And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. THE RESOLUTION I DO solemnly resolve before God to take full responsibility for myself, my wife, and my children. I WILL love them, protect them, serve them, and teach them the Word of God as the spiritual leader of my home. I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Jesus Christ did for me. I WILL bless my children and teach them to love God with all of their hearts, all of their minds, and all of their strength. I WILL train them to honor authority and live responsibly. I WILL confront evil, pursue justice, and love mercy. I WILL pray for others and treat them with kindness, respect, and compassion. I WILL work diligently to provide for the needs of my family. I WILL forgive those who have wronged me and reconcile with those I have wronged. I WILL learn from my mistakes, repent of my sins, and walk with integrity as a man answerable to God. I WILL seek to honor God, be faithful to His church, obey His Word, and do His will. I WILL courageously work with the strength God provides to fulfill this resolution for the rest of my life and for His glory. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. —-Joshua 24:15

Isaiah 54:1,4,9-10,17 (KJV) “Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord . Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord “ (Isaiah 54:1,4,9-10,17) We see God will revive us who are courageous and believe, when the enemy comes against His people, they will not be ashamed, when they it looks like they been barren, no growth, in a dry land, as in the Days of Noah, god will save. And when the enemy comes in like a flood God will raise up a standard, and we shall not fear the weapons of their warfare shall not harm us. This is for some who are struggling and needing some Help from the Lord. Just like me we all go through life battling the flesh and need His help. We can make if we will keep walking by His side and are courageous. “Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy: That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it. Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice. Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul”. Ps 109:26-31

Courageous. What comes to your mind when you think of this word? Bravery, danger, valor, fears. Stepping out of your comfort zone, taking a stand for what you know is right. That’s what I think about. That’s what I want to do. To not be ashamed that you are a child of God, to reach out to people, who don’t know our Lord Jesus, that they may know Him as I do. I don’t want to be afraid of what they may do, or say to me, for Christ suffered for us. I don’t want to think my own little world anymore, God knows my thoughts, he knows what my tomorrow will hold, so I will not fret. God has so blessed, we don’t realize how much we take for granted everyday. God is amazing, He wants us to reach out, I want to do a work for Him, People need us. I’m ready, I’m ready to go! I’m ready to be COURAGEOUS!!! As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!!

BY REV. PETER PAYE This series of messages is to help us avoid the pitfall of some of those who were before us. And to also reawaken us to some of the present error we are still making despite all the warnings. Last month we were able to look at the house of Eli. Let us do a quick review; there were three things we saw about the house of Eli: I. It was a house of disobedience 2:12,15,16,22 We said in ministry or outside, every time that God gives you the opportunity to service as a leader, do all you can to be an example. The sons of Eli failed to use their office for the welfare of men and the glory of God, but for their own selfish and corrupt purposes. And as a result they became a bad example of wickedness. (ver. 12). They were disobedience. II. It was a house of disgrace 22,23 These men of God, has shamelessly indulgence in to pagan immorality. They were involved in to sexual immorality at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Today some marry or ill responsible use men their offices to have sexual immorality with young school girl or job seeker. The behaviors of these men have brought disgrace to the office of the priest. III. It was a house of disdain Professionally Eli’s son followed in their father foot step (1:3b).But morally however, they took a different path (2:12).The mischief spreads like fire in dry grass; and the basic fabric of society is infected with the poison of immorality. These man brought shame to the Priestly office and as a result God judged the house of Eli. Let us continue with the house of Samuel this month: Text:1Samuel 8; 12:1-5 Theme: Echoes from the house of Samuel

Introduction:Samuel was given to Yahweh as a gift of thanks from his mother. As a boy Samuel recognized the expectations placed upon him and rose to meet the challenge of living as one dedicated to the service of Yahweh—the God of Israel. Samuel became more Godly, for he knew this as the purpose of his life. Let it be known to us that the greatest lesson history has to teach is that man has not learned from the lesson of History. And whenever we fail to correct the mistakes of the pass, the blunder continues. We all long for our children to follow the same beliefs and standard as we do. It is heart breaking when they do not. The man of GodSamuel occupied a unique place in the history of Israel. He served as prophet, Priest and Judge. He also served as a parent to two boys- Joel and Abijah. Unfortunately, like Eli before him (2:12) his son did not possess the integrity of their father. Let concern three things about the house of Samuel: I. The house of corruption- 8:3 Let us take a look at the Definition of corruption: Wrongdoing on the part of an authority or powerful party through means that are illegitimate, immoral, or incompatible with ethical, let put it this way; it is dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery. Besides their military leadership, these judges also functioned as those handled legal disputes and arbitration among their people. But the sons of Samuel did not follow the good example of their father. Why would such a great spiritual and political leader children not possess the integrity of their father? Do we have such children in the church; community and governmental setting who have fail us? No matter how much sound education we give our children. If they do not know Jesus Christ, we will only be graduating thieves and murderers. The house of Samuel was a house of corruption. II. The house of contention-8:4-9 Contention is the act or an instance of striving in controversy or debate. A striving to win in competition; rivalry:

66

The Priesthood at the time was a dynasty (1:3). The offering brought by the people was a means of living hood of the Priest (2:13-14) His children not succeeding him was to stop his blessing from them as well. In addition, being a judge, national spiritual leader of Israel those days one had to have good moral standing (12:2-5) and Samuel’s children were different in this area as well. Samuel took the people request personal. As a father this may have been hard for him to take. He may have told the people my sons will do the work. But they said no, your sons are nothing like you. These sons of your are corrupt and they take bribery from people. We want a king over us like the other nations around us. Their unfaithfulness helps these God rejecting people to turn their back on God. They were not ready committed to God, so the opportunity came through their leaders they went for it. We need more of God grace to lead people. The house of Samuel was a house of contention. Do we see the same thing in our churches, when leader want turn power (leadership role) to their children who are not called to ministry? What you will is contention among the people. III. The house of confusion Confusion is a lack of understanding; uncertainty, a situation of panic; a breakdown of order. So was the house of Samuel, one art of unrighteousness lead to another consequence of sin. Samuel seemed to have been confused over the entire problem. He may have regretted why he did not do his best. He may have reflected on what happened to the house of Eli, when Eli failed to restrain his children which led God to punish them. Psychologically he felt that his son’s future was in trouble, even as they live among the very people who had rejected them 12:2. We some time need not to look down on other people short coming, because if not for God’s grace we will fall in to the same temptation. How similar most of us are to Samuel? We see where other fall short or destroy their ministry yet we go on repeat those same arts of unrighteousness.

67

Samuel was the failure of his father in the ministry yet went on to do the same. Though the result may have not been the same but there is a price to pay, and may God have mercy on us. Three reasons why the people demanded for aking: 1. Because of the corrupt behavior of Samuel sons. 2. Surrounded by nations that have kings, they wanted to be like other nations. Example; from 1950 to the present all African nations wanted independence from colonized rule. What better if I will ask have independence done for some of our African nations? War, poverty, sickness and the taking of innocence lives. 3. Because of the threatened neighboring country, particularly the Philistines. They wanted a united force that would bring victory in battle. Conclusion: God has given us children as gift or reward. It is our responsibility to bring them up in the Lord, our failure to do that will bring shame and embarrassment on us. What is the condition of your house as you read through this message? For Samuel it was a house of corruption, contention and confusion.

Planning – the latest cover for worry: BY KEREN ZEIGLER 69

It’s interesting how when you have gone through intense events in your life you develop any eye for the issue in the lives of others. If you’ve lived in the house of an alcoholic, you know the signs. If you’ve suffered bouts with depression, you recognize the signs. If you’ve witnessed the pain and struggle of someone who is co-dependent, you see the signs. After walking through my intense season of worry that I write about in my book Freedom from Worry I have come to recognize the signs of worry in others. It’s especially interesting to watch in the Christian community because it’s a sin to worry, and thus the very use of the word is taboo. Interesting enough though, rather than to admit we’re human and prone to worry (which is pride by the way) we come up with very creative ways to make what we are doing appear to be acceptable behavior. You’ll hear people use terms like – concerned (sounds empathetic right?), over think things (thinking is smart right?), but my favorite of late is

I’m planning it all out in my head. Yeah I probably just stepped on a toe or two. You’ve said this right? And I suspect you’re already developing the argument (in your head) that you are really planning. You’re not worrying – noooo. In this post I want to distinguish the difference. What effective planning looks like and what the #1 sign that your planning is just a cover up for worry. As a busy woman leader with responsibilities at work, church, home and other places, it’s important that you plan effectively. It’s even more critical that you don’t spend your time stuck in your head worrying – all the while you are telling yourself and others you are “planning”. While both planning and worrying (masked as planning) involves time spent thinking, the thoughts you are thinking and the outcome of the two are distinctly different. Here is examples of the contrasting thoughts a planner vs. a worrie might have:

70

The #1 sign your “planning” is a

71

The #1 sign your “planning” is a cover up for worry is Nothing Gets Done.

While planning does require thought it is still an action verb which means action is taking place. The more “planning” aka worry happens the less real planning takes place, the less things get done. The more real planning happens, the more things get done! So what does effective planning looking like? 1. Schedule a specific time and place for you (or you and your team) to think and brainstorm about the project, goal, or task at hand. If a specific time is not set aside and designated for planning then your mind will resort to the planning aka worrying at the most inopportune times – like when you’re trying to focus on time with your family, you’re trying to sleep at night, or work on another important task. Recommended planning schedule includes: 15 min at the beginning of each day (or night before), 30 minutes at the end of the week for the week ahead, an hour at the beginning of the month for the month ahead, 1-3 days for a new year ahead. In addition consider adding 30 minutes when a new or sizable project is added to your plate. What isn’t scheduled rarely happens which is why we often revert to the worrying kind of planning. 2. Grab your planning tools. This will likely include your calendar, a pen & a notebook/file folder (if you work by paper), a productivity App like Things (Apple users) Wunderlist (Apple or Windows) for those that prefer technology. Begin by defining what success looks like for the day, week, project, goal, etc. Then begin to map out with your tools all the tasks necessary to be completed for success to occur. 3. Assign dates and deadlines for tasks – even tentative ones if necessary. Then get those tasks onto the calendar with the appropriate time blocked out for completing the tast. 4. Delegate task and deadline dates where applicable. 5. Schedule time for “checking in” on progress. For a day this could be asking yourself before lunch “Am I on track for the day? What adjustments need to be made in the afternoon?” For a project you may add the progress check to your weekly team agenda. The point being even “checking in” is a task that should be planned into your schedule.

72

As a woman leader it’s your time to chime in. In what area of life are you an effective planner? In what area of life do you find yourself “planning” in your head too much? 73

Beauty from Ashes It all started in December 2011 when a friend of mine asked if I would take her and her new boss (who was an avid horse lover over due for her horse fix for a trail ride). It was my horses and our mutual love of riding that brought us together initially. Already heavily involved in serving my church and another charity my involvement with BFA was slow going and I choose to initially focus on a growing friendship and enjoy my new horse riding buddy. You can learn a lot about a person when you spend hours at a time on the trail with them. And we have spent many many hours in the saddle since our first outing. You can also learn a lot about the organization they founded and lead. I realize that there are many organization that help the abused and trafficked girls and women but I cannot express to you enough the impact that seeing vibrant, healthy, strong women who have survived such ordeals lead others to health and wholeness in Christ. It is truly amazing. Their personal testimonies, the way the live their lives and their heart for serving these hurting girls and women is truly amazing. Whether you to invest $10 or $10,000 to change the life of an individual I can tell you not a dollar will be wasted. It’s an investment that is changing lives of women, their families and the lives they touch across America. Click to donate. Women of Worth International I’m not even sure how long I’ve known or known of Marilyn Orton – at least a decade or more. She was (and still is)a Matriarch and strong Woman of God in the first church women’s ministry I ever attended.

For Marilyn Orton pouring into the lives of young women in her local church was not enough, through God’s divine planning she birthed Women of Worth International. The mission of WOW International is simple – to assist Pastors to start and maintain an effective Women’s Ministry program. The mission is simple but the task is quite challenging because of the glaring discrimination that exists in many countries that leave women with little or no opportunity to develop their God-given gifts. Thanks to the faithful service of Marilyn and the women that make up WOW International around the globe women are being developed into the leaders and women of God they were intended to be. My most vivid memory of the effectiveness of this ministry came when Marilyn shared a story over lunch one day. Although this isn’t a direct quote it is how I remember it. When WOW International started our funding was dismal. We had plans to attend a church leaders conference in Nigeria and we wanted to bring something to the women that would be in attendance. So I gathered a few girlfriends and together we put together a 50 page word document that was a women’s devotional of sorts. We printed 100 copies and off we went. We were met with gratitude but we did not realize the magnitude of our humble gift until we return the following year to the same conference. We were greeted time and time again from women and their tattered, torn and dirty 50 page word document. Upon receiving them they had taken them back to their respective villages, read, reread, read to those unable to read and to pass around to each and every woman of the village able to soak up the wisdom and expression of God’s love found in those pages. WOW International serves 90+ and growing countries and operate by the “CASH in, CASH out” method as Marilyn calls it. If cash comes in to the ministry, it goes out to the women’s ministry around the globe via much needed books, Bibles and resources. Marilyn, nor any of her team that serves takes a salary. My family The beginning of a career in writing and speaking is hard…I mean really hard – mentally, physically and emotionally. The reasons they use the term “aspiring artists” in Hollywood is that it sounds much more glamorous than broke! After being blessed by a great income for so many years in the financial industry, it has been a true test of faith to not earn much an income. My poor husband (pray for him) thinks I need to go back to work and get a “real job”, I think I just need to write more. If you BELIEVE that 1. I need to write more 2. in encouraging people to follow their dreams or 3. in women in leadership then consider making a donation today!

The true father give a legacy to his sons by Bishop J-m Gilson-Levi One of the true witnesses of apostolic ministry is that of relationship without which you cannot have authority or respect. Even in natural in the earth, children are born out of relationship. It is this process that grants the parents authority in the life of the children and gives to them the freedom to raise and instruct them. The validation of one as an apostle is not one's 'position', rather it is one's relationship with Jesus Christ that gives them the ability to father and mentor spiritual offspring. and father/mentor them in the scriptures. Consider the following: 1 Corinthians 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 1 Corinthians 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. There are many who teach and instruct in the body of Christ that assume that perhaps they are apostles but the scriptures clearly state that there are 'not many' fathers. One's ability to teach or instruct is not the true earmark of a father, although it is included. Fatherhood in the body of Christ is clearly defined as "one who begets another". So, fathers are progenitors (founder, originator, initiator), those who bring into existence. In the case of the gospel, there are men who lead others to Christ and into the new birth. In one way, they could be considered fathers, but this was not what Paul was talking about.

Fatherhood (apostleship) in the body of Christ is a calling whose function is to not only call one into Christ, but mentor and father this newly born son into the fullness of his purpose and destiny. A true father will fulfill his responsibilities and honor the privileges of fatherhood through love, protection, nurturing, and guidance. Instinctively, a true father wants his son to surpass himself in qualities and abilities. The motive of his heart is to begin a progressive move toward maturity and establishment of his purpose. Within this goal, the father will begin training with teaching, discipling, and through hands on experience. A good example of these kinds relationships are Elijah and Elisha and also Paul and Timothy. Matthew 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Matthew 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Jesus came to reveal the Fatherhood of God to us. Oftentimes, Jesus would compare our Heavenly Father's relationship with us as like unto that of the natural father in a family. Fathers and mothers want their children to have "the best of everything." The first requirement for success in the family unit is that parents and children love one another. It is within their desire concerning the future of their children that parents offer the guidance and assistance that will help them grow into responsible adults. Within the family unit there is trust, obedience, and accountability. As children honor their parents and parents conduct themselves as worthy of their children's honor, both parents and children benefit immeasurably.

When we look at our relationship with our heavenly Father, we find the same principles to be operative. Our Father's heart and His position in our relationship with Him is found in 2Cor. 6:17-18 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And I will BE a Father unto you, and ye shall BE my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." It is only through a revelation of one's sonship, that one's relationship with God can be manifested can experientially be that of Father and son. The same is true of the relationship of the apostle with spiritual sons. It is only through revelation that a son is willing to enter into a relationship that requires accountability, responsibility, openness, and trust. It is a life of commitment on both sides and will never work if it is one sided. A great example of the father/son relationship is that of Elijah and Elisha. Elisha was mentored and walked with Elijah approximately 10 years before being caught up into heaven. From this example we see commitment from both father (Elijah) and son (Elisha). As called and assigned to do, Elisha completed his course with his mentor. He did not step out 'when he thought that he was ready', and he did not choose another to father him in spiritual realities. Because of his faithfulness, he received not only what Elijah had, but more! God gave him a double portion anointing along with authority as a prophet of the Lord. We also have the example of the relationship between Moses and Joshua, along with many others in the Bible. Today, it is rare today to see these kinds of covenant relationships. Most will 'put on' and 'take off' fathers like they do a change of clothes and use numerous excuses in order to do it. Either they begin to over step their boundaries or they want more power and 'personal experience (they want to step out instead of being sent out). Sometimes they heed the tales of others to dissuade them from trusting their mentor or they are seduced with words such as 'I want you to mentor me; you are more anointed than the one you are under; etc.

Now, there is a new heartbeat in the midst of this generation that is crying out for true spiritual fathers. Confusion in word and deed is at it's apex and has had resulted in a body disillusioned. But God in His mercy, is releasing in this hour a fresh new apostolic ministry in this new millennial time period. In this process, we will begin to see once again the raising up of father/son relationships. And let me say now, that this is not exclusive to the male gender, for father/son is a simply a spiritual connotation that cannot refer to a specific gender for "in Christ Jesus there is neither male nor female". Paul sent out many women to mentor others and establish them in the faith. (Romans 16:7). Junia was a female apostle listed among the apostles in early church history and the New Testament. When Paul wrote to Timothy or Titus, he was very pointed and direct (and almost demanding), because Timothy and Titus were both his "true son(s) in the faith." (1 Timothy 1:2; Titus 1:14, NIV). As Timothy's spiritual father, Paul remains in a place to oversee, instruct and encourage concerning the direction of ministry and establishment of the gospel, even though Timothy is now in ministry. Paul continued to encourage Timothy in the faith and his continual growth in his calling. "Unto Timothy, my own SON in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,". 1Timothy 1:2-3 "Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us". 1Timothy 1:13-14 "This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck". 1Timothy 1:18-19

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery". 1Timothy 4:12-14 And now, the mark of a true father begins to come forth as Paul tells Timothy that he is to "raise up faithful men in the ministry". "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my dearly beloved SON: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord". 2Timothy 1:1-2 "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". 2Timothy 1:6-7 "Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ". 2Timothy 2:1-3 Titus was another son which the Lord had given to Paul whom he instructed to ordain elders in EVERY city! "To Titus, mine own SON after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee". Titus 1:4-5 Another son to Paul was that of Barnabas. Although they parted for a short time in scripture they came back together and continued to walk along side one another, walking out their destiny and calling together. They worked together in the appointment of elders in the establishment of churches. (Acts 14:23). Paul and Barnabas raised up and mentored the believers in the aforementioned church and so were their spiritual fathers.

81

The fact that they mentored and had relationship with these believers, gave them the authority to establish the elders among them. Yes, there is an order of things! An order that was established in the beginning and will continue in this generation today. May God grant us the spirit of revelation and understanding concerning the apostolic ministry in the earth today. The apostle's ministry has always been essential to the building of the body of Christ and the production of continued ministries down through the generations. As we return to our roots and the establishment of our foundations once again, may the Lord grant us fathers and sons of covenant that will help us to further behold true relationship. Apostleship is not a dictatorship, but it is a gift that functions through relationship.

I See An Uprooted Tree : WRITTEN BY CONNIE M. GIORDANO Can you picture it in your mind - the image of an uprooted tree? What does it say to you? What kind of connotation goes along with it? Does it speak of hopelessness, spiritual lifelessness and apostasy, or the removal of evil? Well, those are a few of the inferences which the Holy Spirit would have us use in today's message. In Job 19:10, Job said - "He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath He removed like a tree." What he was saying here was that he felt like a tree that had been uprooted by a violent shaking from every side or as a house broken down on all sides. He felt torn apart piece by piece...broken down...or battered. Everything around him - his substance or estate as well as his family - was destroyed. He was left with nothing.

His reaction? "I am gone" - In other words, I am at a loss, ruined, withered, near death, and undone for this world. "...mine hope hath He removed like a tree" - As far as the hope or restoration of life and happiness...an honored old age...or any future comfort, affluence, authority, respect, and prosperity - it was all destroyed. He felt like a tree which was dug up on all sides - yanked up by the roots - having no hope of growing again. All expectations - of good ever happening again - were gone. In Jeremiah 1:10, the Prophet was called by God to do a most unusual thing - "See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant." Everyone wants God to send them on a mission "to build" and "to plant." But what about the strong commission to go to a people and "root out," "pull down," and "destroy"? Who is ready to volunteer for that particular task? Jeremiah was given the assignment from God to declare His awful judgments on the rebellious nations. In his attempt to reform the people, he would go forth with a "word" from "on high" - intending to destroy anything which the Almighty did not plant.

84

Also, he was commissioned to "root out" vicious habits and customs... idolatry...wickedness on all levels...as well as those who persisted in wickedness. When he got through with them - after delivering the Word of the Lord - the nation or kingdom would feel like a tree or plant that had been plucked up by the roots. Lastly, the Apostle Jude applied the imagery of a withered, uprooted tree to the False Prophets and Teachers of his day - "...trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots" (Jude 1:12). He likened them to the trees in late autumn which are clean of any leaves and fruit. He then added the imagery of being pulled up by the roots - rendering them completely dead. They were dead, dead, dead - spiritually speaking. They had no fruits of holiness in their lives...no vitality in them...and their roots were no longer fixed in Christ Jesus. Their end would be the end of any spiritual "tree" plucked up by the roots - the fire of God's Wrath! For one like Job, the uprooted tree implied that all hope - of ever reclaiming his former prosperity - was seemingly gone from his life. For the Prophet Jeremiah, it was a reminder of his commission from God to go - to the nations and kingdoms - and pluck up the evil that was keeping them from serving the True and Living God.

85

Yet, for Jude, it was a perfect illustration to depict the False Teachers in his day - who were apostates...doubly dead spiritually...incapable of ever being revived...and headed for the fires of God's judgment. A time when all hope seems to be gone... A commission from God to pluck up evil... A picture of an apostate ministry headed for Hell... In the light of the Scriptures, what does "an uprooted tree" mean to you? What kind of association, implication, or suggestion does it offer for what's happening in your life at this time? Perhaps at this particular season in your life, "an uprooted tree" means the "end" of that which was born of the flesh ...that which was not planted(orchestrated) by the Father ...or that which was an "Ishmael" - something that reflects your attempt in helping God fulfill His promise. It may mean the "end" of a very oppressive, painful, or sorrowful experience. It may indicate that the "old" is passing away - with the implication that all things are becoming "new." Or it may depict a mighty deliverance or breakthrough from a situation that had you bound for a very long time. For some, to say - "I see an uprooted tree" - may be the "end" of the "last chapter" but indicate the "start" of a "brand new chapter" in your book of life. Why not take it before the Lord in prayer and see what He has to say on the matter?
