Shepherds without borders lighthouse bugle Ministries openly condemn the government of Iran for executing Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani for his beliefs. we do not intend in any way to interfere in your government activities yet we want to make a point clear to you ; Pastor Youcef is a member and citizen of another government and deserves all respect and treatment accordingly. He is a citizen of another order that you rejected and he has the rights to accept. He cannot renounce his faith for his calling is greater then you will ever understand. Do the right thing and do not deprive this young family of their father because of some selfish example you wish to set to divert others from following in his footsteps. We call upon every Christian wherever you are to pressurize your governments to take the necessary steps to pressurize the Government of Iran to desist from this evil act to be melted out upon this innocent man and his family who will all suffer the consequences.
Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and or Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Foreign Afairs of Iran we are not going to bow to you to plea for our brother life but demand that you release him at once. You have no authority over him when it comes to what he chooses to believe and as an ambassador of Jesus Christ whom he serves we demand his immediate release. Guide and Friend by Debra Lynn Lake-Roberts
He who hath led will lead all through the wilderness; He who hath fed will feed; He who hath blessed will bless; He who hath heard thy cry, Will never close His ear; He who hath marked thy faintest sigh, Will not forget thy tear. He loveth always, faileth never; So rest on Him, to-day, forever!
Then trust Him to-day As thine unfailing Friend, And let Him lead thee all the way, Who loveth to the end.
And let the morrow rest In His beloved hand; His good is better than our best, As we shall understand-If, trusting Him who faileth never, We rest on Him, to-day, forever!

The Restoration of All Things... by Kenneth White
The dispensation of the kingdom of God is to be a dispensation of total restoration of everything to it`s original state before the fall of Adam, except in this condition there will be no more serpent and no more curse. The things lost through the fall are to be restored from the least to the greatest. There will be a vast unspeakable gathering of all things into Christ in the dispensation of the fullness of times(eph 1:9-10) which follows the dispensation of the kingdom of God. But during the kingdom of God, when Christ reigns on earth with His sons from Zion and the New Jerusalem, there will be a restoration beyond mans ability to comprehend. We must believe the word of God as we read it and seek the Holy Spirit to give us understanding of the unspeakable glory of that coming age. When Peter spoke of the restitution of all things(Acts 3:21), he was without doubt speaking of the kingdom day. He said the heavens must receive Jesus until the times of this restitution of all things. The blighting traditions of the church have stolen the truth of this scripture from the hearts of believing men, teaching them that God would not restore all things. But I am sure that He who gathered up the fragments of the bread and fish that nothing be lost
cannot consent to the loss of the greatest purposes of His creation. Nor will He who left the ninty and nine sheep in the fold to seek the one that was lost be content to have just one sheep in the fold while the ninty and nine are lost. Such thoughts are inconsistent with the very nature of God and contrary to all He is and does. Let us then follow the prophet Isaiah and move with him in inspiration as he paints the picture of restoration on the canvas of our faith.. I hope to begin a series of teaching either tomorrow or maybe Monday cancerning "The Restoration of Light and Understanding" using some of the writings of George Hawtin of Canada...LW

PRAY THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD QUICKENS YOUR VISION by Joseph King
PRAY THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD TO QUICKEN YOUR VISION Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. The word is a torch of light that seeks your vision. Kindly refuse to see things, even yourself as the world sees things; there's more than meets the eye. Proper vision, true revelation belongs to those who choose to see things through the brilliant torch of Gods word. That is indeed the purpose of the word; it is a light in this world, a shine torch seeking your vision. What this means is that you are likely to have a brilliant vision. If you see things through the word you have chosen to see things more brilliantly than they are otherwise seen. Beloved, the eyes of men trained as they are in carnal impressions is a limited, indeed corrupt, version of reality. Take for instance, you may presume yourself sick, weak, fated, poor, and ignorant coz the carnal realities affirm this. But that is a corrupt impression. What you need is what the word positions you to be or sees you to be. PRAYER: LORD, Shine the light of YOUR word upon my feet; show me what to do, where to go, how to reach there, enable me to walk in YOUR path of righteousness that shines brighter every passing day. Thank YOU LORD; I can see that light, I can see your direction; I know where I am going, and how to reach there in JESUS’ name. Amen!!!! MIND-SET by Catherin Skinner
Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you know not‌Jeremiah 33:3 Every morning when I am awakened I look at the clock and it is 3:33; this scripture comes to mind. Therefore I have to set my mind to calling on the Lord God. Although my body is sleepy, my mind struggles to call on God for any length of time. My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. When one has been out of practice they loose the mobility to function in a manner that they are custom to. I am an Intercessor Prayer Warrior! Though I have been commissioned in my life to prayer, I do feel the affect thereof. In need of spiritual/natural healing my body and spirit both need to come in alignment concerning the things of God. This is where I/we must call to God so that He may answer and show us great and mighty things. Things like how to get back in fellowship with the people (saints) of God. We must learn how not to give anyone power over our lives, but God Himself. We have to learn to trust in God with all our hearts and lean not unto our own understanding and He will direct our path. So many times when we have been wounded we tend to not want to do the will or work of God. I can speak for myself on this, I can not speak for you nor will I try. I can only pray and hope you will be as honest with yourself as I am. God knows all about me and you too. No-thing is withheld from Him. He sees all that we have endured and yet He never left our side when we rejected Him
because of the pain and frustration. Things not known are the things that God is working together for our good, the good of those that are called according to His purpose and glory in Christ Jesus. Mind- Set is where one must determine what their attitude, outlook, mind, frame of mind, mentality, and way of thinking or beliefs that will affect their approach of convictions or behaviors. 1. 1.A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person's responses to and interpretations of situations. 2. 2.An inclination or a habit. 3. mind·set [ mnd sèt ] beliefs that affect somebody's attitude: a set of beliefs or a way of thinking that determine somebody's behavior and outlook 4. Synonyms: attitude, outlook, mind, frame of mind, mentality, way of thinking, approach, belief, conviction
To long have I held myself back from the commission on my life and allowed the enemy to rob, steal and try to kill the baby God has placed within me and my assignment from God. Just as God knows the thoughts he has for me so do I know the thoughts as well. Thought of peace and not evil, thoughts of love and harm, thoughts of joy and not sorrow, for the blessing of the Lord maketh it rich and He adds no sorrow with it. It is time I stepped up to the plate and once again answer the call of God, not just call on God, but answer the call of God. "People of Jerusalem, get up. Shine, because your light has come. My glory will shine on you. Darkness covers the earth. Thick darkness spreads over the nations. But I will rise and shine on you. My glory will appear over you.” Lord God, I ask that you would govern my/our attitudes so that we may obey Your Word and Will when you call unto us to come and call to You. AbbaFather, we ask that you would show us according to your word as we search it diligently and getting an understanding of what is meant when we read it. Help us to study to show ourselves approved rightly dividing the Word before men. Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Guide and
instruct us with your eye O God, that we may be pleasing and glorify You alone. This I ask for each person that read this note in Jesus Name 窶連men.

"The Gentle Loving Grace of God" by Jeff Godsown
Psa 119:126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law. Psa 119:127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. Psa 119:128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. Have you ever found yourself getting caught up in such a deep want for the Lord and His ways, that you fail to see, you’ve targeted someone who seems to refuse to teach God’s truth, and unknowingly turned them into an enemy? I have and I’m not ashamed to admit it, if this helps just one person realize, how easy it is to turn into something you despise. I hunger for the underleadership of God’s church to teach nothing but God’s truth of His Word and when it’s not taught, it angers and frustrates me to no end. I’m very familiar with some leadership who twist the truth of God’s Word, when teaching it, what I didn’t realize was inside my spirit, I was turning this person into a personal enemy. So, here’s how this worked for me, it didn’t matter who was teaching, if they weren’t teaching rightly, I saw this person’s face, instead of the one who was teaching. This is a serious flaw in me, "but God” in all His tender loving grace, in chastising me, gently touched me in my spirit man and spoke and showed me what I was doing. The one thing that really stuck out for me, I was being chastised, yet I could sense God’s love and tenderness.
This is nothing like what I have come to expect of the Great Big God, whom I should fear, this was totally different. This was an up close, very personal, show me what I was doing and where it was headed, Father to son, tender, gentle moment. Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. What I have deemed as unclean, I was beginning to become boisterous enough about, to even say who I’m referring to, thus throwing out there for others to trip over, a stumbling block. The most remarkale thing to be faced with your own foolishness, and God so tender, so loving, brings correction in such a gentle manner. This just shows me, at least for myself, we don’t understand the depths of God’s love, nor do we understand just how gentle He is to those who want nothing more than to please Him. There are no words that I know of that can truly express the tenderness and love I felt in God’s chatizement of me. Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. God the Father is someone to fear and even more to revere, how gentle the loving grace of God. It is my hope that somehow, someone is touched by this, and when God comes to you in this manner, you also will turn from heading in the wrong direction. May God be blessed in all things and may you be blessed of God, to come to the knowledge of His tender, gentle loving grace as I have.
BELIEVE GOD HE SAYS THE BEST IS YET TO COME FOR YOU! Pastor Emmanuel Isiaka
I know you are celebrating minor and major successes. I am aware that you have enjoyed favours in some areas of your life. I also know that you are simply amazed at how far God has brought you in life within such a short time, to all of these, God is still saying-YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME! The Bible captures it perfectly when it declared "Eyes have not seen, Ears have not heart neither has it entered into the hearts of men what God has prepared for them that love him"! Friend, no matter what the present Victory or Failure is, keep hope aliveYOUR BEST IS YET TO COME.
Tomorrow's Victory will blow your mind! The Goodnews of Tomorrow will leave lasting smiles on your lips! Tomorrow's Goodnews will make today's success appear like a 'child's play'. Can I get a big AMEN? Pray with me,"Lord, I agree that my Best is yet to come" ARE YOU WAITING FOR JESUS? I AM Isaiah 64:4 Amplified Bible (AMP) 4For from of old no one has heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who works and shows Himself active on behalf of him who [earnestly] waits for Him. DO YOU LOVE JESUS? I LOVE HIM PASSIONATELY! 1 Corinthians 2:9 Amplified Bible (AMP) 9But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [[a]who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognising the benefits He has bestowed]. LET SOMEBODY SHOUT HALLELUJAH! The Right Kingdom Message by Dr. Leonard N. Robinson
The most powerful message on the earth is the Kingdom of God. The Father sent Jesus with this message. The Father sent Jesus to preach the Kingdom of God and to demonstrate its presence by casting out devils and healing the sick. Jesus took this same assignment that was given to Him by the Father, and He delegated the same responsibility to us that the Father had first delegated to Him. Now for you and I to get the job done effectively the Father restores to us the dominion that was at the first, the Kingdom, and gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to get the work done. Today the Church lacks the vision of Jesus as Christ the present King of the Kingdom. God sent Jesus to be a King in the earth but the Church has made itself to be a Kingdomless Church. You must do what the devil doesn't want you to do. You must purpose to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness intentionally, and you must be the ambassador God has called you to be, representing His Kingdom and His kingdom alone. How do you seek first the Kingdom of God you ask? It is not by joining a particular Bible Study group, becoming a member of the choir, serving on the usher board or being the pastor's armor bearer. None of these things mean that you are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Going to Bible College, University or Seminary doesn't mean that we are seeking first the Kingdom of God. To seek first the Kingdom of God you are going to have to discipline yourself to study the Kingdom and His righteousness. That's it...study the Kingdom, what it is, what it means in the Hebrew and Greek, read everywhere where Jesus preached the Kingdom, the context that He preached the Kingdom in and see that the preaching of the Kingdom of God has as much validity today.
There are those individuals who block the preaching of the Kingdom of God just as the Pharisees did in their day. They won't come into the Kingdom of God and they hinder those who are trying to come in. There are whole denominations that turn a deaf ear and blind eye to the responsibility of the Church to preach the Kingdom of God, preferring instead their brand of religion in the name of God. Often times these groups settle for an emotional experience with God and hope that God will favor them and show Himself faithful, but their own faithfulness to His central message and purpose for sending Jesus is non-existent.Seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness requires you to come outside of your comfort zone. You have to experience the paradigm shift. You have to see that there was a specific message God sent Jesus with, and the message wasn't salvation. He did come to save but His message was the Kingdom of God. Jesus came preaching repent for the Kingdom of heaven has arrived.Jesus came as the governor of peace (kingdom), and of His peace there shall be no end. Jesus did not come to bring you a religion, any religion. He came to bring you a Kingdom. Jesus came to restore to you the kingdom (dominion) Adam lost. Jesus did not come to give you the Catholic Church, its religious hiearchy, or the many variations or derivatives, Episcopal in their make-up or pentecostal.Jesus did not come to bring you Baptist or any of your denominations. He came to bring you something so much greater. He came to bring you the Kingdom of God. He came to restore to you the dominion that Adam had. He came to restore to you the dominion that was at the first, the kingdom. (Micah 4:8)Without an understanding of the Kingdom of God the Church is kingdomless. It (Church) misses its purpose and cannot successfully fulfill the assignment it was created for. As you are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness God is seeking to salvage you, redeem you and restore you to the glory that is rightfully yours. The Kingdom of God is now. Paul understood the Kingdom of God and He didn't even walk with Jesus in the physical like so many other disciples did. Paul obtained by revelation what God today wants you to receive. Paul describes the Kingdom of God as Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost. He refers to the Kingdom as a kingdom not in word but in power. When Paul uses the word "Gospel" he is nto just referring to the good news of salvation. Often times Paul is preaching the good news that the Kingdom has arrived and that Jesus is King. In Acts 17:1-7 Paul and Silas had a testimony of turning the world upsdie down. How did they do it? What was the chief complaint of the religious and civil rulers of the day? Why were they so incensed against Paul?
Verse 7 of Acts chpter 17 reveals that these leaders, these rulers who were suppposed to know God, and the governmental leaders were complaining because Paul and Silas were preaching that Jesus is King. What makes this so powerful is that this was 60 years AFTER the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ back to heaven.Paul no doubt understood the urgency of the message that Jesus is King. And it was with this message that Paul and Silas was turning the world upside down. They weren't preaching Jesus saves or at the least, they weren't preaching that Jesus saves as the only mesage. The record shows that they were preaching that Christ is King. Apostles, Prophets of today must get what Paul and Silas had. Thesee men of God had a revelation of the right now presence of the Kingdom of God and that Jesus is King and they preached it. Today's Bishops must rid themselves of the Catholicity that marks their offices and return to the simplicity of being those who make sure that the Pastors maintain sound doctrine. But if the Bishops don't know the doctrine of the Kingdom, and the Apoistles don't know the doctrine of the Kingdom, what hope do many Pastors have of ever discovering this powerful sacred truth found in scriptures that is designed to set the captives free and make them free indeed.Today many people are hurting. They are confused about their purpose. They are in search of their divine destiny. They know that there has to be more to it than what it has been, but they don't know what is missing they only know that something is missing and they look to the Church as the answer and the leaders as the source of the answer. Without an understanding of the Kingdom of God the leaders sermonize (that's been the traiining) and seek to edify the people (which only passifies them) encouraging the people to hold on a little while longer because their breakthrough is on the way.The people knowing even less than the leaders, begin to live vicarioiusly through the leadership supposing that somehow if the leader is anointed and drives well and lives well then there is still hope for the member. The people not only lose their identity in the denomination or religious group but they lose the ability to function outside of what Bishop said or Pastor said. So many people leaders included have been seduced by a wily devil whose devices we in ignorance were not aware of. Paul warned of Satan's devices and we looked for the obvous but the inobvious was that the enemy attacked in the area of our doctrine and he used religious leaders as the chief weapon of ignorance in his attack.
Now today leaders have to be humble enough to receive rebuke and correct themselves yet a great many will not. Instead of falling on the Rock they are going to allow the Rock to fall on them and grind them to powder. Its already begun...judgment has come to the House of God. The Father is no longer winking at our foolishness and is commanding all men everywhere to repent. The Kingdom of God is not the "flavor of the month." This is not a fad or just a bunch of people thinking they've found some hidden revelation that we can be excited about for a little while until the next new thing comes along. God is literally using the reality of the right now presence of the Kingdom of God, raising its visibility, and at the same time stripping the religous system naked.Apostles that do not know the Kingdom struggle with identity. They perhaps have believed that they are called to such an office of Apostle but they lack the doctrine of the Kingdom the apostles were so painstakingly brought into the revelation of, and so today's would be apostles if they have an ounce of true sensetivity to the Holy Spirit, know too that something is missing.Bishops have desired a good office but there is a failure to recognize the foundation doctrine of the Kingdom, the central message of Jesus that is to form the central message (doctrine) of the Church when it comes to being the Church that Jesus established. Today men and women are seeking the office of a Bishop. They are following what they believe God is speaking to their heart just as many an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher have done. But these leaders, all these leaders are going to have to examine themselves to see if they are truly teachable and not just following the Holy Spirit of their imagination, one born of the religous system that has emerged in the place of the Kingdom Church God ordained.I've been deleted from Facebook pages, expelled from FB Groups, School of the Prophets and so on and the more I study the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, the more I seek first the Kingdom of God, digging, searching, seeking with urgency, inquiring and requiring of God's Sovereignty, His Royal Rule and Dominion the more I discover how woefully ignorant we the Church have been and how stubborn we are to remain in the same position that we've been in for centuries. What the Holy Spirit tells me is that we've become such because we refuse to be moved out of our comfort zone. There are those leaders who do not like the notion that we could have been wrong all this time. There are those who it is easier to cancel the message out by keeping you out of their churches, off their members FB pages, and away from their conferences then make the changes necessary and truly obey God.
Again, judgment has begun at the House of the Lord and if you are a leader over a Spiritual House and you are not teaching the people the central message of Jesus, its urgency and power, you are not delivering to the people what they need the most to become truly free. You will continue to sermonize and preach lies of hope for breakthrough. You will continue to listen to the voice of the devil tell you to prophesy peace when there is no peace, and you will continue to maintain the religious status quo because it is the means by which you now have an identity.Paul said that as an Apostle he spaired nothing in order to get to the people the truth. His mission was that Christ would be formed in the follower of Jesus. Paul said that we were to follow him as he followed Christ. It is time that you and I followed the Jesus Paul followed and that we recognize the true price, the true cost of ministry. Without an understanding of the Kingdom of God, its power, its purpose and its urgency leaders fail to lead and the people fail to walk in God's best. So friends whoever you are, you don't have to like the messenger, don't have to like this ministry, don't have to give two flips about this page, but you must give credence to the fact that the Kingdom is present, the Church is ignorant of it, and those who ignore the purpose of the Church while supposing to be the Church miss the very reason for their existence.Leaders do not miss this opportunity for change. Do not let the people rediscover the Kingdom of God before you do. The more the people discover the life transforming power of the Kingdom of God the more obsolete you become as a leader. Make the shift! The same way you learned holiness, faith, and the works of God by reading the Old testament; and you learned the elementary doctrines of the faith in the New Testament, you must now apply the time to learning the Kingdom of God. The whole of the Bible is about a King, His Kingdom and His royal family. James said in his book, chapter 2 verse 8 that "IF you fulfill the ROYAL LAW of love you do well."People, whether your leaders get this truth or not, you are never going to be judged by what your leaders have taught you alone. You are going to be judged in part by whether or not you made God's kingdom and righteousness your number one priority and whether you have taken the truth of the gospel of the Kingdom of God and of salvation and have impacted anyone in this world, helping them to change governments and be restored to God's image and likeness.Seek the Kingdom, study the Kingdom, inquire concerning the Kingdom, require and pursue the Kingdom of God and His righeousness and then God will provide for you what you need. You've been trying to get God to move on your behalf and He has moved "marginally" but His desire is to keep His Word and He said through
His Son Jesus, that you are to "Seek FIRST (not 2nd, 3rd, 4th or whenever) the Kingdom of God and His righeousness...and then the things you need will be provided to you. I am a living witness and stand to testify that Matthew 6:33 is all that the Prayer of Jabez is and more when you make the Kingdom of God and His righteousness your number one priority. I just heard the Holy Spirit say those of you who are reading this...and you are smug in your brand of Christianity, refusing to make the changes necessary to make the Kingdom and His righteousness your number one priority, only reveal to God that you have made your Christianity an idol and taken the theologies of man and left the theocratic rule of God. He says repent today. Don't philosophy this message. Humble yourself right where you are and repent today. Change your thinking today. He says some of you don't know where to begin. You don't know what to do with what you are reading and hearing. God says just repent. Turn from your wicked ways of religion, tradition and deception, and personal rebellion, and begin to re-think your relationship with God. The Father says that this is the hour that He is requiring of you a humble submission that you have not known, yet you prayed for this moment. You agonized in tears asking God to reveal to you the truth, to tell you what to do, to show you His divine will for your life and this day God has come to answer you in the prayer of your heart. Repent ye and believe the good news; the Kingdom has come and is alive in you and will produce for your daily. The righteousness that Christ is, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost are yours now. Receive it and walk in the revelation of your divine kingdom citizenship with authority. Your life changes today. Your life will never be the same. Be healed in Jesus name! <3 We Love Because God Loves Us <3 ADDED: by Debra Lynn LakeRoberts
We Love Because God Loves Us "We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19 NIV). The reason God wants us to love is because He is love, and He created us to be like him—to love. The only reason we’re able to love is because God loves us: "Love comes from God…because God is love” (1 John 4:7-8 NIV). We were created in God’s image to do two things on earth: Learn to love God, and learn to love other people. Life is all about love. But love all started with God. He loved us first and that gives us the ability to love others (1 John 4:19). The only reason you can love God or love anybody else is because God first loved you. And He showed that love by sending Jesus
Christ to earth to die for you. He showed that love by creating you. He showed that love by everything you have in life; it’s all a gift of God’s love. In order to love others and to become great lovers, we first need to understand and feel how much God loves us. We don’t want to just talk about love, read about love, or discuss love; we need to experience the love of God. We need to reach a day when we finally, fully understand how God loves us completely and unconditionally. We need to become secure in the truth that we cannot make God stop loving us. Once we’re secure inside God’s unconditional love, we’ll start cutting people a lot of slack. We won’t be as angry as we’ve been. We’ll be more patient. We’ll be more forgiving. We’ll be more merciful. We’ll give others grace. But you cannot give to others what you have not received yourself, and so my hope is that, as you learn how much God loves you, you’ll also let Him heal your heart so that His love can flow freely through you. It’s impossible to love others until you really feel loved yourself. By Rick Warren

Take up thy cross, the Saviour said, If thou wouldst My disciple be; Deny thyself, the world forsake, And humbly follow after Me. Take up thy cross; let not its weight Fill thy weak soul with vain alarm; His strength shall bear thy spirit up, And brace thy heart, and nerve thine arm. Take up thy cross, nor heed the shame, Nor let thy foolish pride rebel; The Lord for thee the cross endured To save thy soul from death and hell. Take up thy cross, then, in His strength, And calmly every danger brave; 'Twill guide thee to a better home, And lead to victory o'er the grave. Take up thy cross, and follow Christ, Nor think till death to lay it down; For only he who bears the cross May hope to wear the glorious crown. —Charles William Everest
WISDOM KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING OF THE SIMPLE & MEANINGFUL ! Babsie van der Berg
NAILS IN THE FENCE By Babsie van der Berg NAILS IN THE FENCE Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.(Most importantly the last sentence) There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

IS GOD WITH YOU? By Babsie van der Berg Once there was a young girl who decided to take a short cut home from school. The fastest way to her house was to cut through an alley. The girl approached the alley. She saw a man as though he was waiting for someone. She said a prayer:"Dear God please lead me through this alley safe and unharmed. Amen." The girl walked through the alley and past the man. Later on that night the girl decided to watch the news. She saw the mans Mug shot from the alley guilty of murder and rape against a young girl. The police said the man told them another girl had passed through the alley 10 minutes before. They asked him why he didn't attack the first girl. He said there was a man walking beside her. God walks with us. We deny his presences but he is always here. 95% of people will just read this and shut their phones, but be among the 5% that will read & send to friends! UNITY IN DIVERSITY :OUR INDIVIDUAL TALENTS CAN BE MISMANAGE PART 1 : BISHOP STEVEN LIBERTY SR
UNITY IN DIVERSITY : OUR INDIVIDUAL TALENTS CAN BE MISMANAGE AND COULD LEAD TO A VERY GREAT DISCOMFORT; OR EVEN THE DEMISE ENTIRE ASSOCIATION/ORGANIZATION ACTS 2: 42-47 When a Group of People comes together from different orientations, countries, churches and societies under one umbrella for a common goal, there are advantages and disadvantages. The Body of Christ is no exception and we must do all we can to study the past to make the present more unique and presentable for everyone to feel at home and in place. So, you might ask me, Bishop how is this possible? How can we find a place for everybody? This is too big a task. Okay, But Bishop, everyone here is a Minister of God, so we all have the same calling; therefore you need not look further. Don’t worry about confusing yourself about anything; the Great Designer had this in mind from the day of your birth. He sent you with a vocation. But in order to exploit and understand this vocation you must know your gift/talent.
Understanding your talent, help you to get the best out of life and those around you. Do you know that the only way to help a group of people, an individual, an organization etc. is to teach them how to exploit their talents to the fullest? Yet there is the other side of this talent coin. It can be mismanaged. And that is the point I have decided to touch in this little work. When we use our talents to mislead or bully others it usually ends up for the worst. When we come together in a large group, it is best to look for unifying points, and to allocate positions like the Apostle Paul try to warn about in 1Cor.12-31. Yes we are different parts, but unique parts, each with a duty of their own. We must always work along side the other parts in order to make a successful whole. To illustrate the point I want to stress about mismanagement. I want to use the method I know best; and it is the Jesus teaching methodology. In this case, I will be drawing from the well of African Wisdom Myth from my village and kindred. According to this piece of Wisdom; when God first created the earth, He gave human the power of free will. Now every living thing/group comprising of more than a single person needs to have a leader. That was the case with the first human body God created. The body needed a leader to run its affairs, a leader capable enough to maintain its physical, psychological, spiritual, and moral balance. A leader with enough love to supply equally the needs of every part according to their abilities and needs, wise enough to distribute positions so that everyone would share into the affairs of running the body, and powerful enough to keep control over dissidents. Before proceeding further I want to bring back home the reality of mismanage talents/gifts also from the biblical point of view. Since we are talking leadership here I want us to examine the lives of two very powerful leaders in the Bible, King David and Saul. Again I will be relying on crosswalk devotion "Discover The Book to help me with this part of my narrative.
" These two men towered over their generations. These two men held the highest offices to be had on earth. Yet from their privileged position one is elevated to heavenly proportions and the other slips hellishly down. One started a royal line that shall never end. Even to this day his name is spoken and sung with the joys of heaven. The other ended his miserable earthly life apostate, hardened and distant from God. Blinded by bitterness, driven by pride, shackled by fear he spends his last supper with a witch at Satan's side, dines on an ox roasted by a fire that would soon roast his tormented soul. David and Saul Contrasted Yes, King Saul and King David are a striking contrast in so many ways. King Saul was a colossal misfit because he refused to learn God's way to deal with sin. He was a prince of a man and a demon of a man. He was a study in paradoxes. Saul was a total contradiction in God's sight: • From man's perspective he was tall but, in God's sight he was very short of God's plan; • Humanly speaking he was quite handsome outwardly, but when his heart was exposed as the Lord sees, he had an ugly heart of sin. • His body was physically strong but within that body was incredible spiritual weakness. • As king he was among the richest people of Israel, but his real condition was utter spiritual bankruptcy. • Saul look healthy on the outside but the cancer of sin was rotting him internally. • God says who we really are spiritually is far more crucial than what we look like on the outside! " Let’s return to our original narrative. Gifts and talents are now in action during this very exciting election season for the parts of the body. Everyone has forgotten their Creator because of the Free Will that was given by God.
There were two contenders for the position of President, Mouth and Stomach. As you are aware, mouth is wide and red with shining teeth and a wonderful tongue and He had a deep sweet bass when he spoke. Who on the body could compare with his handsomeness and distinct personality? What about stomach? Physically he was nothing compare to mouth, round and with nothing outward for people to see. Looking at that round skin and seeing nothing on the outside, couple with the fact that he could not speak a word was a very great disadvantage to him. How would he convinced the parts of the body that he carry all the vital organs under that round ugly skin? How would he tell them that because of their high sensitivity and dedicate nature, God had entrusted them to him? How could he explain that he was the only one fit enough to rule the parts of the body and unite them for the purposed that God created them? The only sound that came out of stomach was the sound of air (because mouth refuses to work for him). And you know that the body surely did not want of a dumb / bobo Leader. Mouth for his part uses his communication talents to carry the crowd wild. He told them that he was the right candidate for the position. He promised them all the best and even described to them how he would set up his government if elected, and the gains the body would receive. He explained to brain that if he voted for him, he would occupy the position of vice president. In fact Brain would really be the one in charge of the day to day activities; monitoring and issuing orders to every section, he promise ears the position of Ministers of information, in charge of taking in and relaying information to brain. He promised eyes and nose the securities positions, working as national security and police in coordination with brain. He promised hands the position of Ministers of defense, charging them to be in readiness to defend the body at all times.
He finally promised the last position to legs, who would serve as ministers of transportation, wherever the body wanted to go they were responsible. But in his government he left out two parts. When the election was held mouth carries the day. But was it God’s plan for the body to work as mouth described? Was mouth really the one capable of ruling the body? What would the two do? As you can see God bless mouth with a great talent. Lets returned to the two great kings a little : "Saul's Trail of Damning Disobedience: • Saul was presumptuous with God's Grace. He intrudes into office of priest 1 Sam 13.8-10. • Saul was impatient with God's Timing. There he was alone, his military resources running out, Saul only saw the ritual as important and not the faith that prompts obedience I Samuel 13:11-12. To offer sacrifices was not legal for Saul: • GOD HAD A CHOSEN TIME: 1 Samuel 10:8 "You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do." NKJV The crisis of the moment revealed what Saul was really like on the inside. It revealed his character. His character was one that disobeyed God in the crisis. He was his own boss, the Lord had not become his Master. His goals were more important than the Lord's. His reputation was more important than God's. • GOD HAD A CHOSEN PLACE Deuteronomy 12:13 "Take heed to yourself that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see; 14 "but in the place which the Lord chooses, in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you. NKJV • GOD DEMANDS OBEDIENCE: Saul had plenty of excuses but Samuel gets to the heart of the problem as he says, 1 Samuel 13:13
And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. NKJV • SAUL WAS CARELESS WITH GOD'S TRUTH. he had God's words (he had prophesied under the power of God's Spirit in (I Samuel 10: ; 19:20) but not His thoughts. Because of this he took everything as a sign for what he had planned to do. He thought (23:7) God had delivered David into his murderous hands. When you are out of touch with the Lord only confusion follows. • HIS REPENTANCE TO GOD WAS FALSE. He had ungodly regret rather than godly mourning 1 Samuel 15:30 Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord your God." NKJV • HIS RELATIONSHIP TO GOD WAS FALSE. Saul actually admits his lack of a personal knowledge God. 1 Samuel 15:30 Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord your God." NKJV • HIS HEART BEFORE GOD WAS FALSE. 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." NKJV
UNITY IN DIVERSITY: OUR INDIVIDUAL TALENTS CAN BE MISMANAGE PART 2 : BISHOP STEVEN LIBERTY SR
You might say;”but Bishop Mouth did a very great job and should be complimented”. I will than direct your attention to the difference between what God sees and what men sees. Mouth was very talented and a crowd puller but was he capable of exercising the wisdom needed to rule the body. Was it in the original plan of God that he should be the leader of the body? Do we find ourselves here in any way? Are we using the gifts and talents that God give us for its intended purpose? Let’s say you have a nice voice to preach or sing and people are attracted to you for that purpose. Is that reason enough to use it to look down on others or preach division or hatred? Is it reason enough to use it to tear down the homes of others etc? Many of us have to reexamine ourselves and the way in which we use the gifts God give to us. Sometimes we are aware that where we are is a misfit and we can not do our best there, yet we do not try to move forward to the area the God placed us. Ever seen a very good musician who tries to be an usher in a church? Ever spotted a prayer warrior, chorister, etc who is a misfit? I am sure we all have. The result is that you can not get what is needed from that misfit person in that particular area.
However if he/she is placed right you will see a new person that you did not know; fresh and blooming; but if the contrary is the case the result is always a disaster. The next lesson here is: only listening and following the instructions of God who give you those gifts can you be able to exploit them to their fullest. As soon as you become proud and think about only your self interest, you are on the path of self destruction. You fail to take into consideration the feelings of God and your fellowmen. You begin to believe that you are an end within yourself. That is when you die spiritually and physically. Mouth was so sure of himself/herself that it did not take into consideration the purpose of God for the body. In fact, mouth did not care if there were members of the body that he did not reach. All mouth thought about was how to please the majority. Sometimes in cases like these God takes the side of the minority and they become more powerful than the majority. When the majority relies on their popularity physically and the minority relies on their popularity spiritually, wonders take place that results to everlasting results. Lets take the story of that servant of God, a refugee, fed by birds, housed by a widow, his only physical possession was his staff/walking stick, from a village so insignificant( in his days) mentioned only once in the bible; who was running from the most powerful, popular King and Queen of his day. When it was time for a showdown God came in full and prove that indeed He approved of this minority and the result was wonders never again repeated in the history of man in like manner; fire from heaven, fiery chariot taking a human to heaven. Stomach was now an outcast, rejected and not even accepted by the members of the body, over thrown from its God given purpose by a misfit, a misplaced talent and a part of his/her family. This was the same situation a friend of God found himself in one day long ago:
• "In 2 Samuel 15:14 David has left the City of David on Mount Zion (where it still sits today now excavated after centuries beneath the dust of time); he walks down Zion to the Kidron ravine, passes over a small brook of flowing water (15:23), follows the pathway up the mountain called Olives (15:30). • At the very top he pauses (15:32) and offers worship to the Lord. Then he runs into Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth (the crippled son of David's friend Jonathan, son of Saul) who brings food to help David (16:1-4) David has been joined by his faithful soldiers and mighty men. He has been sought out by the good and godly priests. He has been fed by the humble servants of others. So this next visitor was so unexpected. But so was everything else happening on this fateful day. David is just reeling from it all. The whole insurrection or coup d'etat was so unexpected. The speed at which a loved and trusted son was able to draw the entire nation away from David was staggering. David's thoughts raced back and forth from all the battles he had fought to save these people of Israel from their enemies. And now those very people's children were the army that had joined his son to kill him. Then he thought of how he had rescued his own son Absalom so many times. Before he was old enough to even realize it David had kept young Absalom from Saul's hand. Later David had risked his life to attack the raiding bands of the desert peoples and rescue Absalom from their grasp. Then David remembered bringing young and handsome Absalom up to Jerusalem, the City of David, Zion the City of God. How it had thrilled David's heart to build a home and see his wives and children happy and secure in the home that God had provided. But nothing would ever be the same. Tamar was raped by Amnon. Absalom killed Amnon. Now Absalom was seeking to kill his own father David. Nothing was right; nothing would ever make this go away.
Back and forth flew his thoughts, his painful questions--why do the people turn away from me so quickly? Why does my own son hate me? Why does God allow all this? And then as David looks around at his mighty men marching like a wall of strength around him, that space once occupied by the bravest of the brave, is empty. The same Uriah that went to his death at David's deceitful bidding and murderous plot did so because he was loyal to the death for David--and always had been. David's thoughts raced back over the years and again smote him with contrition. Yes, again he knew that against the Lord all this had been done. And now David was suffering the consequences. Somewhere in the midst of thoughts like these, mingled with tears, a barefoot David hears trouble coming. Before he saw him, he heard the hatred of his curses. Coming up from Bahurim, the first village on the downward slope of the Mt. of Olives is the figure of an angry man. Bitter to the point of blindness is this distant relative of Saul. With the poison of a venomous serpent on his tongue-curses, dust and rocks fly from the one man army named Shimei. With every means possible he tries to attack David while he is down. Isn't that how temptations often come? The devil in alliance with our flesh, the world around us, and the demons--tries to always get us at our weakest moment. It was perfect timing--David was physically, emotionally, mentally, and humanly at his weakest and lowest point. But much to Satan's disappointment I'm sure, David was not at his lowest point spiritually. This was the same case with those who mouth overlooked and left out of his governmental set up. Besides stomach there is this part of the body which is an outlet for all refuse of the body. It placed at a spot where it is not too visible to everyone and its outward appearance is very small.
The refuse that passes out through this part of the body does not have a good odor and it does not enjoy sunlight. Its name is as ugly, anus. Anus was very mad that it was left out of the government of the body and said to stomach its closest friend; "but big brother these guys have no respect for us and even God who made us the way we are. I think we should teach them a lesson. It must be a lesson that they will remember as long as we exist as a single unit”. Stomach listened to Anus and laughingly asked: "Big brother what can we do? Mouth has already won the elections and we must get use to it. We are not a part of his government. Anus replied: Brother I might be small and hidden here at the bottom of the body but I know I am very important to God. He created me to be important where ever I am, regardless of where I am located. This is what we are going to do and we will prove to the body that it takes our combine efforts to keep this unit functional and moving. "You are speaking in riddles Anus,” said Stomach "Spell it out”. God wants the treasure that He is within us to spill and shine out from our lives. That of course is humanly impossible. That is why David spoke of the power of the Holy Spirit within him (II Samuel 23:2) in his final words; so we echo Paul's words of the precious Spirit of the Living God within us. It is God's grace and power through His Spirit that is our only source of strength to live and die this way. - during. (Young's Literal Translation, 1862) (Discover The Book). Regardless of who we are, God is able to direct our thoughts in times of problems if we really trust in Him. Deep within us lies the power of wisdom to overcome any circumstance if we put our trust in Him. The song writer wrote: "Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, why should my heart be lonely and long for Heav'n and home, when Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender word I hear, and resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; tho' by the path He leadeth but one step I may see: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know we watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, when songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him; from care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Refrain: I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, for His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Twenty-seven hundred years ago when Israel was in a steep decline and headed for national ruin, defeat and deportation to Babylon--the prophet Habakkuk wrote one of the most hope filled paragraphs in the Bible: Habakkuk 3:17-18 Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls-18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” (Cross Walk Devotional) Anus looked at stomach and said: "I was given charge of the borders of the body. I am going to close the border at this end and all you have to do is to return every substance/food/water that comes through mouth. Do not allow it to settle and the same route it used to come in should be the same route it will use to go out. Let’s see if the body can stand this for a week.”
Stomach laughed and laughed: "Oh yes Brother in that case we will prove to them that God created us all equals with individual differences, strength and weakness. They will learn that only God saves. That is exactly what happened that day after the victory of President Mouth. Anus closed the border and stomach began to return everything that was send down to it. You my dear readers are in a better position to tell me what began to happen to the body after a week. Mouth wanted to put up a fight and try to encourage everyone to remain strong and courageous. By the middle of the second week the situation was a different story. As you are already aware everything send to Stomach through mouth was returned through the same route. Gradually brain began to experienced memory loss, ears (Ministry of information) began to experience hearing problems, Eyes and nose (the security network) began to experience false signals; because they were growing dim. Hands (Ministry of defense) could hardly lift up itself, and legs (Ministry of Transportation) were now short of fuel. Fellow believers’ ugly things happen when a body is not together, when talents are misplaced and there is disunity.. So the big question was: what could the President do to remedy this situation? What means did he have to force stomach and Anus to corporate with the body? The way things were going if care was not taken the body would have collapsed and die. Something had to be done. Our God always gives us a chance to come back to our senses and correct our mistakes. That is if we are willing to accept our mistakes and turn back to him. Forgiveness is the greatest gift that man has ever received after the gift of life from God. "Mark 3:20-30 The New Testament records 37 miracles that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry. These include sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, life to the dead, health to the sick -- and many other tremendous miracles supernaturally performed by Christ.
Which one was the greatest? If you analyze them they were wonderful but ALL were only temporary. o The paralyzed, lame, mute, and blind that Jesus gave back eyes, fingers, toes, and skin eventually lost them all again when they got sick and died some years later. o Peter's mother-in-law was miraculously set free from a fever but years later died of other causes which may also involve a fever. o The food miraculously created by Jesus was consumed by the five and four thousands, and used up -- and hunger returned the next day. o The eyes restored to blind Bartimaeus were used, worn out, and dimmed by the time he died. o The hearing that the deaf received were subject to the natural downward slide of the human body and faded most likely by their death. o Those dancing feet after Christ's touch that the lame possessed, soon turned to a shuffle and then stopped working altogether as they lay in bed awaiting death many years later. o Lepers who found fresh new skin and limbs saw them again return to wrinkles, weakness, and finally immobility as circulation, respiration, and digestion all slowly were assaulted by the weight of many years. o So yes, Jesus performed many miracles -- but all of them but one were TEMPORARY. The answer is the one that never faded, never aged, never ended. It was the miracle unladed by time, untouched by health, unaffected by circumstances. That miracle, the greatest miracle is the one that Jesus Christ is still doing in our midst today. It is the miracle that I have personally experienced. It is the miracle that most of us in this room have also experienced. It is the greatest of all Christ's miracles -- the miracle of complete forgiveness.
President Mouth saw no way out of this doomsday that he/she had brought upon the body through selfishness, pride, greed and the misplacement of his/her God given talent/gift. The members of the body had no other choice than to appeal to stomach and Anus for forgiveness. Did the friends agreed to forgive them and if so ,on what grounds? Before we discuss the conclusion of this matter, it is also necessary to returned to the two Kings that we contrasted in part 1 of this message. It is time to take another look at that matter; "So dies Saul, an apostate. One who experienced the Word of God, the Spirit of God, the power of God and the leading of God - and willfully turns from it! Apostates know the truth and have received knowledge from God, but then turn from it. From his last supper King Saul completes his despair and defeat by his death. So he dies in his sin, a murderous, wicked, bitter and angry old man. He is slain by one of the very people he was to exterminate, the Amalekites! He like so many others came so close to God and ended so far from God eternally! What about that other man who sinned? How did David do? Where are the lessons David learned in this horrible pit of sin? Forever recorded in Psalm 32 "The Song of a soul set free" • David sings with DELIGHT when his SINS WERE CLEANSED v. 1-2 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. • David sings in DESPAIR when his SINS WERE CONCEALED v. 3-4 When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah • David sings of DELIVERANCE when his SINS WERE CONFESSED v. 5-7 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,"
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah 6 For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him. 7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah • David sings about his DESIRE that his SINFUL WAYS BE CRUSHED v. 8-11 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. 9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. 11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart! " David was wise enough to repent and asked for forgiveness of his sins to God. I will not say much about David than the fact that he was humble enough to cry to God and he was saved. President Mouth asked for forgiveness first to God and his fellow members and give up the position to stomach. In his/her acceptance speech, stomach thanked God for creating all of them equal in His sight; for giving each person a unique gift, that once combined can bring about the best results for everyone. He/she left the governmental setup as it was with the inclusion of two additional post. Mouth (Ministry of immigration) in charge of testing every substance that enters the body and Anus (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in charge of everything that leaves the body. From that day forth Stomach was made King. Everyone to this day work very hard to please the King. Everyday the greatest need man has physically is to maintain the stomach. When it is filled and healthy it distribute what is necessary for the body. Yes every member now strives to satisfy the King. Mouth now used its voice to speak when items are needed (ie. in the Market) and is the one who sample and satisfied the supply going into the stomach.
With each part of the body combining their various talents and uniting to supply the King in order to be supply themselves, the result is a strong healthy body. When one member is sick the body is sick. In conclusion, I will advice that we seek to know and use our God giving gifts/talents for the Glory of God. That is why it was given to us for. We must understand that no tree is a forest and our gifts can only shine brightest if in the right place and united with others. I challenge you this day to check yourself properly to see if you are where God intended you to be or a misfit. Check to see if your gift is shining to its fullest for the Glory of God and the betterment of everyone. If not remember that God is faithful and ready to forgive you if you just desire change. In our diversities lies great strength if we unite. The sky becomes the limit to what we can achieve with God on our side. Unity in Diversity equals strength; unity in diversity equals breaking down impossibilities. We were each given a piece of the puzzle to the key of break through and life and with God on our side, when combine there is instant rewards. It is my prayer that after reading this message you will find something valuable to take along with you. May God richly bless you my beloved. NB: As I mentioned in part 1 of this message I used the quoted text from Cross Walk Devotions (Discover The Book). I did not change them in any way but used them as they were send to me in the devotionals.
WHAT IS LOVE ? written by Linda Fawkes 2010
WHAT IS LOVE ? written by Linda Fawkes 2010
When I became a Christian at nineteen years old I was overwhelmed by the love Jesus had for me and wanted so much to love others too. But to my horror I found that I still had within me a terrible temper and anorexia/bulimia which I had suffered from since the age of thirteen. I never realized how bad my temper was - until I had children and then I found I did not know how to look after them properly, discipline them and give them the love they deserved. I KNEW I SHOULD LOVE but something within me hindered me into knowing HOW to love.
I felt really guilty and asked Social Services for help with my children. I was making myself sick about fourteen times a day and it was affecting my family. My husband didn't know how to help me and we had numerous rows as he banged on the bathroom door - trying to stop me being sick. It was like a long nightmare.
I went in and out of hospital and I was humiliated by staff, force-fed and given all kinds of medication. But nothing worked. I felt like I wasn't living in the real world - but in a Prison where I was held captive and I could never be free. I cried to the Lord many times for help and always believed He heard my prayers - but often other Christians would make me feel worse and tell me I had an evil spirit or a demon and need deliverance. Then I became really afraid of demons and after numerous deliverance prayers and long hours of talks on demons by our Pastoral Group - I had a complete breakdown. IT WAS TERRIBLE. About eight years ago I left this Church. I was very ill with anorexia and was told by the doctors I was dying. I had no Church. They had laid down conditions I could not do and I was all alone. I went into a Catholic Church to buy something and a priest was coming out of Mass. I asked him to pray for me - and he said he would. Then he said he would help me. I was very anti-Catholic but I felt led to go and see him. I became a Catholic six months later, my husband and mum joined also and I have been there eight years. Three years ago I was totally healed. I had suffered from an eating disorder for thirty-five years and now I AM TOTALLY
FREE. I never knew what it was to be totally free - not to be obsessed by food. I started to play the organ, draw and I could concentrate on things. I never could do that before. SO - WHAT HELPED ME TO BE FREE?
Here is some advice I feel God would want me to share with you - so you can be instrumental in being used to heal emotionally damaged people. I know for me healing was a very long journey but some things really hindered it and some things moved it on. I don't want anyone to be fed with the unhelpful advice I was given and brought to a point of feeling worthless and suicidal like I was - because I was given false-guilt by well-meaning but not Spirit-led Christians. God does not tear down - He builds up. He does not discourage - but encourages. So here are a few things I would like you to reflect on. The word SHOULD is a word I no longer apply to myself. This is laying down rules that I cannot always adhere too- then I am overwhelmed by guilt. Instead I can now accept myself as I am. I realise I am saved because Jesus died for me and no matter what I do - God will always love me - FOR GOD IS LOVE. I do not have to EARN God's love. I love Him because He first loved me and sent Jesus to die for me so that I could know everlasting life. Big relief! I came to understand where I was coming from. The Holy Spirit helped me to see that I was an emotionally damaged child within an adult body who did not know how to love. My father was very violent and domineering and my mother was mentally ill. I was not allowed to ever communicate my feelings or opinions. I lived in fear of my father and felt a burden to my mother as she always sighed and complained about how hard things were and how she wished she had stayed single and not had children. I was the youngest out of three sisters and our house was full of fear.
I remember when I was very small feeling too frightened to make a noise or move. My dad never liked noise. If I left a door open by mistake I had to write lots of lines and meal times were full of terror. My mum and dad both had terrible tempers and we never went to Church. I never knew about Jesus and I felt so lonely. Christmas and Easter were the worst times because my dad would be at home and all we ever did was eat and watch TV. I didn't understand what these traditions were all about. I just knew they were times of violence and depression. Then we were abused sexually - my middle sister and I and nothing was done. My dad just told them off. But having to walk down the road and pass the abusers daily whilst having to act as though everything was fine became too hard to bear. My sister developed epilepsy and I developed anorexia. I found it numbed my feelings and I no longer felt any pain. I was in a world of nothingness. I stopped growing emotionally and had a seven year old damaged child's mind in an adult body. I knew something was wrong because I always felt small and afraid of adults and I always wanted to be free of all curves. I starved myself trying to get rid of any curves on my body. I detested them. I was like it for years. I never could accept I was an adult. I always felt like a child crying within. When I was healed I realised that because I hadn't had emotional stability and encouraging love shown to me - as my parents didn't know it for themselves - then I could only act and behave the way I had been brought up and my temper was a result of self-hate for who I was.
God brought me to a place where I understood how my background had affected me and through Psycho-Dynamic Therapy by a Christian Counsellor and a listening ear by the priest - the little crying child within grew up emotionally. I got to a point where I became an "adult" within and was able to shake the hand of peace with myself and forgive myself for all the bulimia and hurtful things I had said and done. I ACCEPTED MYSELF. I REALISED I NEVER COULD BE PERFECT AND I ALLOWED MYSELF TO TAKE THE KEY FROM JESUS - OPEN THE PRISON I HAD PUT MYSELF IN FOR PROTECTION - AND WALK OUT A FREE PERSON. Everybody has seen the difference - especially my family as I go out and have meals with them and do things I never could do before. I am very anti-diet now and realise the danger of dieting magazines for teengers. I like to share the Good News of Jesus to everyone - especially young people because I never want any child to feel unwanted and abandoned like I did. I WANT EVERY CHILD TO KNOW THEY ARE NOT ALONE. GOD IS THERE FOR THEM. How I wish I had known that! There is so much more I could say. But I would have to write a book just to cover a bit. I am 55 years old now and for 52 of them it was a prison of darkness. But now I am in the light and I am totally free. So many people gave up on me because I was ill for such a long time. But thank God He never gave up on me and always brought someone to help me. The pain I felt for 52 years was just as painful at 52 as it was when I was shaking with fear at 2 years old. I thank God for setting me free and I know that God can do miracles. But sometimes God allows things into our lives so we can develop character and perseverance. I now see myself as very blessed and the 52 years of suffering have turned out to be blessings for me and the "thorns" of the past has become "roses". PRAISE GOD.
TRUE SHEPHERDS: BY JOHN GRACE
TRUE SHEPHERDS BY :JOHN GRACE Today's Christian churches are replete with self-serving leaders, men whose only goal is to use the people of God for their own self-exaltation. There are also many leaders in our congregations who preach a good, strong message of repentance and holiness, while others share almost exclusively on the love of God. There are many good teachers as well as bad ones. However, is any of the leadership in our churches predicated upon the needs of the congregation? True leadership in the Christian faith must be rooted in the way Jesus led. " I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and runs away. So the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them. Because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep, he runs away" (John 10:11-13). Jesus "laid down His life for the sheep". He was not concerned at all about His reputation, nor what the masses thought. His only concern was for the people (i.e., the sheep). John contrasts this with men who do not own the sheep, but are merely "hired hands". Because the sheep are not theirs, they have no concern for them.
The first sign of danger has them "abandoning" the sheep to the wolves. It also shows how little these hirelings think of the Shepherd who hired them (revealing, huh?). Matthew gives us a glimpse into the heart of the True Shepherd. Listen carefully: "Then Jesus went throughout all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. (Matthew 9:35-38). Compassion. The key component to being a true shepherd. Jesus truly cared for the people. He saw that they were "bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd". Sheep, in the natural, unless there is specific guidance (hence the shepherds' rod and staff), will wander aimlessly, grazing on whatever is directly in front of them, taking no thought to where they are or what is happening around them. If left alone long enough, they will wander away from shelter and right into the bared teeth of a predator. Therefore, sheep without a shepherd are helpless. This tendency in people is what grieved the Lord that they had no one to shepherd (i.e. guide) them. This is the reason he spoke to his disciples, asking them to pray that the Lord provide shepherds for them. The problem, all throughout church history, is that in the absence of true shepherds "wolves in sheep's clothing" have come in, entrenched themselves, deceived the flock, and led them astray with their ungodly leadership. And with no one to shepherd them properly, or step in to protect them from these ravening wolves, they are easy prey.
Part of Jesus' reason for selecting a small number of disciples, was so that He could take them under His wing and teach them how to be strong, godly leaders; to be His apprentices in shepherding the sheep. From the training of these twelve, the process would be transferred from Him to them, and on to others through them. Paul also understood this principle well, and shared it with his apprentice, Timothy, who was to pass on these qualifications to those under his charge. A true shepherd cares for those under his charge. His concern is for their welfare, and he will sacrifice his own life (if necessary) to protect them and keep them. He is desirous of training and equipping them for the work of the ministry that all should come to the full maturity of the Lord Jesus Christ. True shepherds, lamentably, are few and far between in this present day. That is why, along with Jesus, we must pray as He prayed, that the Lord of the harvest would send out workers into his harvest. May we allow the Lord to restore this model of leadership in our churches today. Amen. :) PRAYER: Heavenly Father, True Shepherd, forgive us for failure to lead as you have shown us; for rejecting and discarding your perfect model of leadership (shepherding) and creating our own model instead. Grant us the gift of repentance that we might restore proper leadership over Your people, and lead them, as You wonderfully do, into the way everlasting. Teach us again, Master Shepherd, how to provide, nurture, care for, and protect those you have placed in our care. May we bring You glory in the way we shepherd Your people. May we realize the great responsibility (and subsequent accountability) we have to lead them aright. Thank you for Your grace, and for never abandoning US to the wolves. Ours is to follow YOUR lead. Through Jesus we pray. Amen. :) ~JOHN GRACE~
UPDATES FROM VARIOUS NEWS LINKS ON THE INTENDED EXECUTION OF PASTOR YOUCEF NADARKHANI OF IRAN FOR FAILING TO DENOUNCE HIS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST! ANOTHER CHRISTIAN TO BE SLAUGHTERED FROM HIS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AS THE WORLD STAND BY AND WATCH
WASHINGTON --(According to http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nationworld/ktla-pastor-iran-execution,0,4708770.story) Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, the head of a network of Christian house churches in Iran, could be executed as soon as midnight Wednesday in Tehran for refusing to recant his religious beliefs and convert to Islam, said the chair of a commission that monitors religious freedom around the world. A statement by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, an independent advisory group appointed by the president and Congress, "expressed deep concern" for the man's fate. After four days of an appeals trial for apostasy, Nadarkhani refused to recant his beliefs. Leonard Leo, chair of the commission, said the pastor "is being asked to recant a faith he has always had. Once again, the Iranian regime hasdemonstrated that it practices hypocritical barbarian practices."
Writing in the National Review Online, religious freedom activist Nina Shea said Western voices made a difference in the hikers' case and could influence the pastor's fate: "Those of us in the free world should press our members of Congress to speak up." However according to ( http://articles.cnn.com/2011-0930/middleeast/world_meast_iran-christian-pastor_1_violent-crimesapostasy-execution?_s=PM:MIDDLEEAST ) ; there is another side to the story . "Christian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani will be put to death for several charges of rape and extortion, charges that differ greatly from his original sentence of apostasy, Iran's semi-official Fars News agency reported Friday. Gholomali Rezvani, the deputy governor of Gilan province, where Nadarkhani was tried and convicted, accused Western media of twisting the real story, referring to him as a "rapist." A previous report from the news agency claimed he had committed several violent crimes, including repeated rape and extortion." White House Condemns Possible Execution of Iranian Pastor: The White House condemned the conviction and possible death sentence for an Iranian pastor who refuses to renounce his Christian faith on Thursday, saying the execution would further demonstrate Iranian authorities "utter disregard" for religious freedom. "Pastor Nadarkhani has done nothing more than maintain his devout faith, which is a universal right for all people," the statement released by the White House read. "That the Iranian authorities would try to force him to renounce that faith violates the religious values they claim to defend, crosses all bounds of decency, and breaches Iran's own international obligations. A decision to impose the death penalty would further demonstrate the Iranian authorities' utter disregard for religious freedom, and highlight Iran's continuing violation of the universal rights of its citizens.
We call upon the Iranian authorities to release Pastor Nadarkhani, and demonstrate a commitment to basic, universal human rights, including freedom of religion." Attorney Mohammad Ali Dadkhah told The Associated Press on Thursday that his client has appeared before the appeals court over the past four days and expects a ruling by the end of next week. Dadkhah said he believes there's a "95 percent chance" of acquittal for Nadarkhani. Dadkhah said neither Iranian law nor clerics have ever stipulated the death penalty as punishment for converting from Islam to Christianity. The judges in the case, according to the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ), demanded that Nadarkhani recant his Christian faith before submission of evidence. Though the judgment runs against current Iranian and international laws and is not codified in Iranian penal code, the judge stated that the court must uphold the decision of the 27th Branch of the Supreme Court in Qom. When asked to repent, Nadarkhani stated: "Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?" "To the religion of your ancestors, Islam," the judge replied, according to the American Center for Law & Justice. "I cannot," Nadarkhani said. An unnamed source close to Nadarkhani's attorney told the American Center for Law and Justice that a judge has agreed to overturn Nadarkhani's death sentence, but the report could not be independently confirmed. Even if the sentence is overturned, Jordan Sekulow, the executive director of the ACLJ, said the message is that it would be unlikely that Nadarkhani would be set free. Nadarkhani is the latest Christian cleric to be imprisoned in Iran for his religious beliefs. According to Elam Ministries, a United Kingdom-based organization that serves Christian churches in Iran, there was a significant increase in the number of Christians arrested solely for practicing their faith between June 2010 and January 2011.
A total of 202 arrests occurred during that six-month period, including 33 people who remained in prison as of January, Elam reported. An Assyrian evangelical pastor, Rev. Wilson Issavi, was imprisoned for 54 days for allegedly converting Muslims prior to his release in March 2010, Elam officials told FoxNews.com. Nadarkhani, a pastor in the 400-member Church of Iran, has been held in that country's Gilan Province since October 2009, after he protested to local education authorities that his son was forced to read from the Koran at school. His wife, Fatemeh Pasandideh, was also arrested in June 2010 in an apparent attempt to pressure him to renounce his faith. She was released in October 2010, according to Amnesty International. Nadarkhani was sentenced to death for apostasy last September based on religious writings by Iranian clerics, including Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite the fact that there is no offense of "apostasy" in the nation's penal code, Amnesty International reports. In June, the Supreme Court of Iran ruled that a lower court should reexamine procedural flaws in the case, giving local judges the power to decide whether to release, execute or retry Nadarkhani. The verdict, according to Amnesty International, includes a provision for the sentence to be overturned should Nadarkhani renounce his faith. Elise Auerbach, an Iranian analyst for Amnesty International USA, told FoxNews.com that an execution for apostasy has not been carried out in Iran since 1990. Nadarkhani's sentence is a "clear violation of international law," she said. "The key is to keep up the pressure and to publicize the story because it obviously outrages most people," Auerbach said. "It's part of the pattern of persecution based on religion in Iran." Kiri Kankhwende, a spokeswoman for Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a human rights organization that specializes in religious freedom, told FoxNews.com that Nadarkhani was asked for the fourth time to renounce his faith during a hearing early Wednesday and he denied that request.
"We're waiting to hear the final outcome," she told FoxNews.com. "We're still waiting to hear what they've decided." Kankhwende said Nadarkhani could be executed Wednesday or Thursday. "Iran is unpredictable," she said. "We can't say when it might happen. It's a very real threat, but we can't say when exactly." Officials at the U.S. State Department declined to comment when reached on Wednesday. House Speaker John Boehner said Nadarkhani's case is "distressing for people of every country and creed," according to a statement released on Wednesday. "While Iran's government claims to promote tolerance, it continues to imprison many of its people because of their faith," the statement read. "This goes beyond the law to an issue of fundamental respect for human dignity. I urge Iran's leaders to abandon this dark path, spare [Nadarkhani's] life, and grant him a full and unconditional release." Father Jonathan Morris, a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of New York and an analyst for Fox News Channel, said Nadarkhani's case is "unmistakable evidence" that Iran is executing Christians simply because they refuse to become Muslims. Morris continued: "Will President Obama, and the free world, allow the United Nations to continue in its cowardly silence on this matter?" The Associated Press contributed to this report.
