is John Mackey’s “Places We Can No Longer Go”, which was written for wrote this piece for his mother who suffered from dementia. Well into her decline, she still remembered music and this inspired Mr. Mackey’s composition. The piece tells the story of this disease, but does it in reverse. It starts in the present, or maybe even in the future, and over the course of 22 minutes, goes in reverse, as confusion turns to clarity, and grief turns to comfort.. FEB 8-9 Greenberg’s Model Train Show Greenberg’s Great Train and Toy Show will be here on Saturday and Sunday, February 8 and 9, 2020 from 10am to 4pm. This event will feature hundreds of tables of trains and accessories for sale, huge operating model train displays, free modeling workshops, activities for kids, and more. Hear a medley of works by George Gershwin arranged by talented young composer Matt Podd, the score of An Ellington Portrait as part of Caramoor’s exploration of the Harlem Renaissance, and rousing renditions of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Stars and Stripes Forever.
