EDITOR'S LETTER Greece is such a uniquely beautiful place! I was blessed to be able to travel to a myriad of islands in the discovery of what makes them extraordinary. Mykonos was magical as everything was so unexpected! Somethings looked a certain way but in reality were not as they seemed, & other things that I wouldn't expect surpassed all my expectations. Santorini was sensational in that it was truly an island that catered to all senses. To touch the black sand beach, to hear the waves crashing down on red beach, to see the beauty of this island with its surroundings, to smell the aroma of a variety of Greek cuisine, & to taste the very best the island has to offer - The third issue of The 7th Magazine explores Art + Design, Creative Inspiration, & Travel throughout Mykonos & Santorini, Greece.

Describe the moment you both discovered your artistry?

We used to draw, mold, sew, embroider and visit various creative workshops since our early childhood. It seems like we were born with a big passion to create; we always did what we believed. We always had a lot of patience, learned fast and covered different art directions

It is difficult to distinguish that special moment when we realized our talent, but we definitely can point at two important milestones in our lives

1) When we first saw art dolls at an exhibition. It was like an "illumination" - we immediately thought to ourselves, "this is what we want to do in our lives."

2) When we first released our thematic fashion doll collection "Fashion MOON," which had insane success at the exhibition, that is when we realized that we have found our direction with doll art

What are the differences and similarities between both of your creative styles ?

We work in unison inspiring each other. We share our perception of beauty and style, our receptors work in the same way. We feel like we have no differences neither in style nor creative processes.

Kopajos starts its adventure from Mykonos, a magical Greek island filled by the Delos energy. Here the Napolitan entrepeneur, Bruno de Felice, with his wife Francesca and their sons Ugo, Isabella and Francesco, has relaunched the brand In just a few years the sunglasses with the tapered fish became something of pride to the Mykonian people, because they bring to the worldly visitors the symbolism of Mykonos and of Greece as a whole The Cycladic spirit of the tapered fish, symbolises the brand icon and sign of recognition between the first Christians. It is also found on the Greek flag designed on the pouch of the sunglasses and by the use of “ Meandros” . The wave symbol decorates some of the metal sunglasses and other models, as well as the shop walls and the pavements of all their stores

Kopajos is a family brand, with a family commitment so to express a strong yet beautiful story in business. Earnestly speaking, Bruno de Felice says that if the incredible Cocò Chanel were to have ever come to Mykonos, she would have fallen in love with the island, the brand, and today many women would wear their "tailleur Blue Kopajos” “ . The true innovation is in the use of natural colours that are influenced by everything around,, giving Greece a beloved view to the world. So the love for this country, for its more than two thousands years history and beauty, convinced Bruno to invest in an ancient time, resulting in well-designed, qualitative, & exceptional sunglasses, born from a perfect family project.

More than working from research, the Greek symbolism is the fusión with the Ellenic spirit. Walking in the flag ship store of Kalogera, you can feel a pure energy, a mix of natural colours; blue of the sea and the sky, white of the houses both exalted by the sunlight that comes from the roof enriched by some big glasses blocks. Kopajos now is an excellently claimed product in Mykonos; thanks to the tourist destination of the island, clients come from all over the world to continuously try the collections of their choice. Those that return to Mykonos always revisit in demand to buy the latest pairs. Mykonos for the brand is determined above all by the decision of continuing a centenary history that inspires. In 1919, a Syros craftsman started with a little shop, realizing many different glasses with different, resistant material that, in the sixties, have been chosen by Aristotle Onassis; it is said that after a tiff with Maria Callas, he got his glasses broken, but the old Kopajos repaired them, installing two larger bars, to prevent any jealousy of the legendary Singer. One of the artisan’s nephew, the Napolitan entrepeneur Bruno de Felice, enriched by more than 30 years experience into the sunglasses industrial production, & also a design expert, realized one of his hidden dreams had come true. It was to relaunch the Kopajos brand starting from Mykonos with his sunglasses while continuing the familiar tradiction of tre generations. Today Kopajos is a luxury must have, with an international exposure, opening a new shop every year (the last one in the eminent location of Astir Beach, near Athens) with bigger and brighter spaces, capable to show a unique collection, that counts more than 100 models and at least 4500 different sunglasses. The clients know that in Mykonos they could find a Kopajos; during the summer the Kalogera street shop is very crowded of enthusiast visitors, free to try every model they want.
