1.
How competitive do you get when playing? 1 play Soccer like I would play any sport or game with with aim to win. When I step onto the field I want to give 100% and for my team to Score more goals than the other team.
2.
What’s your best juggling? My highest juggling record is 213, juggling was not something I found easy, so I had to practice almost everyday to get better, it took more many years to get over too.
3. Were you on a team in college?
Jt ~rnm
~“t
Yes, I represented my college, Liverpool John Moores Universit3r I also played in a recreational league with my friends. 4. Is soccer your favorite sport? Why?
1’
.
-
Soccer is my favorite sport, I like it because it is a team game but individual players can shine at any given time. This could be a great save from the goalkeeper, a perfect challenge / tackle from a defender, an unstoppable shot or the perfect pass. I like how the game of soccer is about taking risk to outwit an Opponent.
V.
r
5. If you had to choose soccer or teaching, which would you pick and why? Ten years ago I would have chose to play soccer over almost anything else. Now, I feel I am lucky to still be able to play soccer for fun, coach soccer and also teach. I get the same level of pride and happiness from teaching and coaching soccer, as I do when I am playing on a Saturday. Passing on my knowledge, skills and the love of the game to the next generation is a privilege. 6. If you were on a pro team, what team would you be on? I would have to pick the team I support, Newcastle United. Although we are not the best team, I would love to pull on the black and white jersey. 7. Who is your favorite soccer player? My favorite player is Alan Shearer, he is now retired but is the all time leader goal scorer for Newcastle United, he was also my idol growing up.
8. What advice do you have for kids who love to be competitive? There is nothing wrong with being competitive and wanting to win. Winning it’s part of any game. However, trying to win at all costs, and jeopardizing your character is bad. If you are a competitive person you should always try your best during the game, but when it’s over, you shake hands with your opponent and, remember it’s only a game, win, lose, or tie! Nobody can or will win every single game they play. Be humble when you win, and be gracious when you lose. I would much rather lose a game of soccer than a friend.

How did you get into teaching? Before I came to Norfolk Academy, I was working in outdoor programming and education; meaning, I worked for an organization that planned and led backpacking, climbing, kayaking summer trips for middle and high schoolers. While I still love traveling with students, I was eager to find a school environment to step into. And I am so glad I’m here, at Norfolk Academy! 1.
V What was your favorite grade as a student? That’s a great question! Some of my favorite memories as a young student come from my first grade class. My teacher, Mr. Turner, made everything fun, including cleaning up the classroom. He would pick a different song each day to “dj” our cleaning up. We sprinted around the room to pick up and clean up before the song ended. 2.

3. What do you like about being with 2nd grade? There’s so much to love about second grade. I really enjoy watching the gradual indepence our second graders develop over the course of the school year. It’s also really exciting to introduce more advanced disciplines and topics to them at this age, knowing they’ll master them in a few short years (like multiplication and division!)
4. What’s your favorite book? The Harry Potter series will always hold a special place in my heart. I didn’t enjoy reading when I was younger because I thought it was “boring.” It wasn’t until I first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that I discovered the magic -no pun intended- of getting lost in a story and in its characters. Now, I always have a book on my nightstand, waiting for me.
5. What is your favorite sport? Growing up, I wanted to everything my athletic big brother did, so I started playing soccer when 1 was super little. I played both soccer and field hockey competitively through middle school and high school and even played on UNC’s club and intramural field hockey and soccer teams. Now, I coach and enjoy playing field hockey and lacrosse with my teams and running on my
own.
6. Where in North Carolina were you born? I grew up in winston-salem, North Carolina, home of Wake Forest ~~iversity’s Demon Deacons. We are lucky in North Carolina to have several impressive colleges and universities to cheer for. I’m a Tar Heel born and bred! Go Heels!

7. What do you do when you are bored? I like this question! When I’m not at school, you can usually find me with my dog, Honey, either running on the beach or playing fetch in the yard. Even when I want to be lazy and lounge on the couch, she forces me to get up and get moving!

9. When did you start playing lacrosse? I actually picked up lacrosse as an adult! Growing up, girls lacrosse was not offered where I lived, so I played soccer and field hockey. But now that I play and coach lacrosse, I can’t get enough of it! It’s been a great experience knowing you can learn a new sport at any age and lacrpsse is so much fun! 10. What advice do you have for kids about being competitive?
To me, competition is a beautiful thing. It encourages mastery of skills, collaboration with teammates, and a desire to achieve your best. Most importantly, though, good and healthy competition cannot exist without sportsmanship. They have to go hand-in-hand. If we cannot play for the love of the game, regarding the safety of others, we don’t belong on the field.

‘:~ ~ 4. What subject is your favorite to teach? 1.
What is your favorite basketball team?
I love teaching reading and writino
I actually have twofavorites! I love UNC; I read Roy Williams’ book Hard Work years ago and really respect his coaching style. The other team I love is UVA. Tony Bennett’s team is quite the team to watch if you love defense like I do!
~ ‘p
2.
Who is your favorite basketball player?
I love De’Andre Hunter. I think the role of a man on a team is one that isn’t talked about enough. It’s so pivotal that when you have a great 6th man, you have a chance to transform the energy on the court quickly. Hunter played that role so well and Eve just loved to watch him play ever since. 3. What do you do when you are bored? My kids keep me busy but they are now at the ages where we can go to the beach in the summer and they will actually let me sit and read some while we’re there. I really enjoy that Any time of year you canfind me on a run or working out during down time. 5. What is your favorite competition to do with your family? My kids both have competitive spirits (which my husband claims they gotfrom me) so family competitions arefun. We love playing sports and currently basketball and soccer are the kids’favorites. A good game ofMonopoly is always excellent too...or a Mario Kart battle.
4
6. What advice do you have for athletes? I tell my players all the time that their minds will quit before their bodies. If my players learn nothing else from me, I hope they learn that they can do anything they set their minds to. Life isn’t always easy and I think sports can help you develop the resolve to handle life’s setbacks and hardships with grace.

g. What is your favorite memory of a basketball game? I have so many! I loved playing for Coach Acra. He has an energy and a way of really making his players want to work hard. I also loved my team’s win this year on Middle School spirit night; the girls all worked together andfought so hard. It was fun! ~‘

10. Did you play sports in college?
I did not, but so wish I had. I missed sports a lot in college. ii. What are the most important things to remember about being competitive?
There’s so much to be saidfor players who play hardfor one another and notfor their own accomplishment, it’s important to remember that you can always get better, and you shouldfeed off of constructive criticism, ft’s natural to want to be seen for your talents, but it’s your weaknesses you should want to focus on to improve. That will keep you humble, and humility is the key to improvement.. .and the key to being a great teammate.

An Interview with Coach Acra by Ashten Konikoff i.
How long have you been coaching? I have been coaching since college when I used to coach a rec team in Lexington VA. I have coached at NA for all of my 28 years here and this is my i8th year as the Varsity Boys Basketball head coach
2.
What’s it like coaching people who are so much taller than you are? I mean, some of them tower over you. What’s that like? Ashten, First of all thanks for noticing that I am not as tall as I used to be:) Secondly, you have to remember, that even though a lot of my players are taller than me, they still rely on me to help them get better. Sometimes, however, I do stand on a chair to get my coaching points across to Mark Williams.
3. What made you wanting to start coaching? I love sports, kids and competing so I would have to say it was a natural transition once my playing days were over. I also believe teaching and coaching are very similar. The teacher/coach’s job is to make their student /player the best they can be. 4. What’s a memorable moment in your years of coaching at NA? Two memorable moments would be having the opportunity to coach my older two children. I had the chance to coach my daughter, Madison, in tennis and son, Taylor, in basketball. I hope to be around to coach my youngest, Lee, when the time comes. My other memorable moment was watching last year’s team achieve unbelievable success and win the TCIS championship for the first time in 21 years. Having played on the NA’s first ever TCIS championship team and then watching the team I coach win one was pretty special. 5. What is your overall mentality when you are coaching? We set non-winning goals a a program- we believe in 4 principles to be the best team we can be- Teamwork, Improvement, Accountability, and Toughness. We stress those everyday in practice and let the scoreboard take care of itself.
6. Tell me about the coach to player relationship--how is different from the teacher student relationship? On the court or field, there is more opportunity for one on one learning. You get to know your players more due to amount of practice time everyday and the amount time we spend traveling to games and working BEL on the weekends. We also have individual coaches and player meetings once every week to see how our players are handling all their responsibilities. 7. What advice do you have for people who want to be competitive? Control the controllables! If you work hard at your sport or your favorite subject and put in the extra time then you will be prepared for your moment. Being on time, trying your best, listening to your coaches and putting in the extra time will help you achieve almost anything you put your mind to. Don’t worry about what others are doing- focus on what you can do to be better. 8. What do you do with your players off the court? I keep tabs on them to make sure they are being good citizens on top of being good players. I also remind them to find me if they need some help and I love watching them coach our lower school teams in BBL (Bulldog Basketball League) g. Do you see many of your players go on to play college basketball? I have had about 4 or ~ of players go on to play college basketball and even more go on to play another sport in college. The basketball team is pretty lucky to have most of the best athletes in the school on the team. 1 of our shooting guards won a national championship as a golfer and a bunch of them have played lacrosse, football, tennis and baseball in college.

Where could Anthony Davis get traded to? Anthony Davis was a first overall pick to the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2012 NBA draft. Recently, he has been reluctant to play for New Orleans. In this article we will be seeing the possibilities of where Davis will go. 1.) Los Angeles Lakers. • With the Los Angeles Lakers recently pick-up of 15 time all-star and multiple time finals MVP and league MVP LeBron James, it seems Anthony Davis could get traded or leave for there in free agency. Recently, the Lakers have folded in a trade package for Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Katavias Caldwell Pope and more.
2.) New York Knicks. After trading away some of their core, the New york Knicks could use someone better than Enes Kanter and have many trade assets to exploit. Plus, the New York Knicks are on Anthony’s list of teams he would go to.
3.) Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics have had an amazing season this year and nothing and no one can take that away. Yet, ever since their big run with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen (all future hall of fame players) to a championship, they have been lacking in the center position. And they have many trade assets to use, and also are on Davis’s list of teams.
4.) Portland Trail Blazers Portland Trail Blazers have a ridiculous amount of young talent in their guards, and could use some big men in their arsenal. And Anthony Davis is a good fit Pie could be surrounded by the talent of Damian Lillard and Ci Mccollum as a supporting cast, and they could become a team with rings to come. 5.) (cause a fan is a fan) the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a state of complete tanking. They’ve traded away there fantastic three point specialist Kyle Korver. They have somehow kept a man that offered and got a tattoo of footlocker on his right kneecap and have not released him yet With a current record of 12-46 at the times am writing this list, they could really use a big man like Anthony, possibly picking him up in free agency (hopefully).

Which is the Better Dead Meme? By Andrew
Which is the better dead meme? Boneless Pizza or Happy Birthday to the Ground? Happy Birthday to the Ground has a cake and a dog in it It might come down to if you are a dog or a cat person, but personally, I like Happy BirthdaytotheGround. Boneless Pizza isan insultto pizza makers. Boneless Pizza also demonstrates stupidity. By majority, 4A thinks Boneless Pizza is more dead. Being the dead meme is bad. So, 4A thinks Happy Birthday to the Ground is the better of the two.

The Competitive side of CS:OG is also very important. There are many teams. There a two types of Competition LAN tournaments and Online Tournaments. The bulk of them are LA tournaments. LAN tournaments is when two teams are in one big stage and they have a play 0 4 on multiple computers. The winner can win up to $11,400.00 playing video games if they win. CS:GO is a big game. Moe’s Restaurant review By Sam Lasley
k
I like Moe’s because it is fast and they make it in front of you. They have burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and bowls. My favorite is the burrito. They also have chips and cookies. They also have toppings you can put on your burrito, taco, quesadilla, or bowl. I would give Moe’s a 5 out of 5 stars. I mostly order a burrito with lettuce, chicken, beens, sour cream, guacamole queso, rice, a cookie, and chips. It’s better than Chipotle because it’s iresher than Chipotle. The next time re near a Moe’s o o in and eat ther
