An Interview with Coach Fowler By Gabriel Divans

i.

What is your favorite sport? It’s a tie between baseball and football! I was asked that question many times when I was your age, and I always said, “Whichever one is in season!”

2.

What is your favorite sports team? Baseball: Phillies, Football: Redskins

3. Why do you like coaching baseball? I love watching guys grow into playing on the big field, I love the strategy, I love the competition 4. What advice would you have for young baseball players? Play catch everyday 5. Have you ever had a rivalry before? Yes! I still do. My first rivalry was our local HS rivalry in Pennsylvania. It was fierce! Here at NA, we love to compete against Cape Henry and the Richmond schools. 6. What is your favorite rivalry in sports? Redskins Cowboys -

7. What sports did you play in school? Football, Basketball, Baseball 4.

.

-

8. What is your favonte color? Blue 9. What is your favorite redemption story in sports? It MIGHT be UVa hoops. They lost in the first round of the tournament last year and won it all this year. THAT’S redemption!

A

An Interview with Coach Monninger By Bryce What is your favorite football team? My favorite teams are the ones I played for and I coach. So of course I follow Norfolk Academy Bulldogs, Middlebury College Panthers and Westfield HS Blue Devils. When I watch NFL, I like the NY Giants (I grew up about 30 mm from Giants Stadium) I

What is your favorite part of coaching at NA? I love the fact that I get to take many individuals and get us all on e same page so we can oru best and win football games. I love the challenge of being an “underdog”.

3. When you were playing football, did your team have a rival? When I was in high school we played a team called Plainfleld HS every year on Thanksgiving day. It is a huge rival and a great tradition. My HS (Westfield HS) and Plainfleld HS have played against each other on Thanksgiving for well over ioo years !!! 4 .1 •-‘.w

4. Who did you want to win in the Superbowl? I actually really didn’t care too much who won the game. I just wanted a close, competitive game. We are really blessed to see a legend coach (Belichick) and a legend QB (Brady) win another Superbowl. One day , you will be telling your children how great these Hall Of Famers were when th y were in their prime! •

5. My team in the NFL is the Panthers. Do you like the Panthers? I like the Panthers for sure. It is cool that Taylor Heniecke is on their roster because he played at ODU. ANd Luke Kuechly is a defensive player that S. ~ 0~ ye one respects. -t..

6. Is rivalry good in football? Yes. Rivalry is good in any sport. But it is always important to make sure that it is a healthy rivalry. Sports are important. But being fair and doing your best is most important. You don’t want rivalries to become so “heated” that people use poor sportsmanship. .v i -‘C..

7. What is your advice for someone who wants to improve his football skills? No matter what the skill (catching, throwing, blocking, etc), in football terms we call it “reps”. Reps is short for repetitions. You have to do things over and over again for as many repetitions as possible. Quality reps lead to quality improvement.

I The creation of the cheesy atlas was a strange and unexplained thing. All we know is that a teen dumped a wheel of parmigiano reggiano into a potion without knowing. Creating the cheese atlas. The infamous kraken was formed of sharp cheddar, and the cheese isles were made from dried nacho cheese. The marketplace however was formed out of thirty four cheeses combined. The type of cheese from Hobo Joe and Mr. Cheese is yet to be identified. More Chee way.

Ped Sox vs. Yankees ByJuljan and Gabriel You might have heard about the rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox. We think that it is the best rivalry in the history of sports. They have played countless times in the playoffs, such as Jeter’s fan interference, and Aaron Boone’s walk-off homerun. A famous time that the Red Sox won was when in the Post-season they were down 3-0 in a series and they came back and won the last four games. One of the most famous Red Sox games was when the Red Sox starting pitcher was in the 5th inning and then he started bleeding on his ankle and the sock was completely red. He threw a shutout game. You may have heard of the Curse of the Bambino. It started when the Red Sox manager invested money in a play. The play made no money So, the Red Sox were cursed and they called it the Curse of the Bambino. The Red Sox didn’t win a world series in 86 years. That is the end of the story of the rivalry between the Red Sox and the Yankees. U

Thanos and Thor: Infinity War By Evan Jones Thor is the son Odin and Thanos is a titan. Thanos had a gauntlet and he found all the infinity stones and he was going to destroy 50% of the universe. Thor lost his hammer and went to the land of dwarfs and got another hammer and he fought Thanos. Thor hit him in the chest and Thanos said you should’ve aimed for the head and Thanos snapped his fingers and destroyed 50% of the universe.

This is a good movie because all the Marvel movies led to that moment when Thanos snapped his fingers and the feeling of watching him do that was amazing. You should really watch Infinity War and Infinity War End Game, which is the second one.

Redskins and Cowboys By River The Redskins, three Super Bowls, the Cowboys

“Okay, who even cares?! The Cowboys are trash!,” said Devin.

“Hey! You don’t talk about my team like that!,” said Ryan.

“I can say whatever I want,” said Devin.

“Whatever. We are going to win this game tonight,” said Ryan.

“We’ll see,” said Devin.

They went home that night praying that their team would win. Redskins won. Devin came to Ryan’s door with a poster with Redskins and confetti over their heads. The poster was bigger than him so you could not see evin. All you could see was Redskins.

S “No! The Redskins won!,” said Devin. —

“What?” said Ryan. “Did you watch the game?”

“Yes.” said Devin.

They were arguing and thinking that each other was out of their mind They found out somebody had hacked ESPN! He was arrested and t news spoiled the game--the Redskins won! But the Cowboys also won because the NFL said they could win because they are so bad. It’s their opinion.

Revenge at Ikea C

iMM Duke 4N0 wILLiar4 ChUm One day, Steven was out walking in the pillow fortress. The question is: how was it made? The evil Bed King used it as a hub for his plans and the spoils of war. Since then, the fortress had been claimed by Steven’s first army (his brothers and sisters).

BY

A war has been declared to capture the Pillow Fort, led by the King of Shopping Carts. So far, thousands of Swedish meatballs and fish have died in this righteous cause. The land of candy has been bombarded by the evil King of Shopping Carts. So, King Steven sets out to capture the fort with his second army. When he got to the King of shopping Carts, King Steven’s huge fort was bombarded with poisonous Swedish Fish arrows. Blocking all the arrows, his army slowly pushed up the hill. And then his first army came out of nowhere and flanked the shopping carts army. Then in a heroic moment, King Steven sliced the evil Shopping Cart King in half and captured the candy fortress. “Yb

But the evil King of Pillows was still around To be continued!

The Beaches of Normandy By Will and 3ulian Chapter 1 June 1, 1944. A conference was held for the Allied leaders. They were discussing an attack to take back France. The date was set for June 6th, 1944. Five days away they heard the weather was going to be bad. Eisenhower, the American general, decided to go anyway. They sent telegraphs to each other saying they were going to attack Calias. The Germans intercepted their message that they were attacking Calias, which was exactly what the Allies wanted. Chapter 2 Hitler stationed his forces at Calias. For the plan to work, they made fake soldier tanks out of wood so it looked believable. They also puta record playerofscreamsofterrorof menyelling and shooting. Chapter 3 Then, it was June 6th, 1944. The Allies drifted across the English Channel. S beaches. 5 attacks. The Canadians stormed Utah Beach, which was just like the training. British and American soldiers also forced the Germans back and in a matter of hours Utah Beach was Allied again. Juno Beach was a stalemate with each side retreating and attacking again. Chapter 4

Then came Omaha Beach.

The thousands of soldiers who stormed the beaches were met with a big load of bullets from the Germans. Soldiers were running up the beaches. American soldiers would be killed every second oftheGerman reign of terror. Afewsoldierswould make it up the beaches. A man named Carlos stopped the guns. The soldiers pushed to the beaches. The Germans had won the day but many more battles would come. The Americans set up camp by the natural rocks of Omaha Beach. When morning came, the Allied battleships and destroyers bombarded the Germans, as every morning started on the long campaign to take back France. 8:00am: Normandy, France. The Allies stormed the beaches, but the German reinforcements were already at the bunkers, so the Allies had to retreat. Chapters On the third day, the Allies had still not taken Normandy Beach. The Germans in their pill boxes thought they won the day again for the third time. They were retreating back to check on their friends. That’s when the Allies sprang up and charged the beach! The Germans were completely caught off-guard. The Allied forces charged up the beach and took cover under the rocks of the giant cliff. Chapter 6

Some brave men clambered up the cliffs and sent ropes down to the others. Soon half of the Allied forces were on top of the cliffs with more coming up. The Allies stormed the pill boxes and caught the Germans off guard, Machine guns and A-A guns were taken. Then, the Americans pushed inland and met up with the British, American, and Canadian forces who had taken Juno, Gold, Sword, and Utah Beaches. From there they retook Paris on May 8, 1945, or as we know it, V.E. Day. The End.
