by Rhylee Do you know the largest rodent in the world? Well, if you didn’t--it’s the capybara. It can be 4 feet long and may weigh over 100 pounds. It lives in eastern Panama and east of the Andes in South America, near rivers, lakes, or swamps. The capybara looks like a big or large guinea pig. On its back it has reddish-brown or gray fur. On its belly it is yellowish-brown. It has webbed toes and swims well. It grazes near rivers. Some people may call it a water hog. The animals are eaten by alligator jaguars and human +

Naked Mole Rats byAva

N

Naked Mole Rats are rodents that burrow underground. They are located in eastern Africa. It has a tube-like body and is nearly hairless, with wrinkled pink skin and large teeth to dig with. An adult may reach 3-5 inches and weigh 1-3 ounces. Naked Mole Rats live in colonies of 75-80 members. Really big colonies can have up to 300 members. Wow--that’s a lot! They have queens like ants and bees. Naked Mole Rats have lots of twisting and turning tunnels, like highways. They are very mysterious and interesting creatures.

The Aye-Aye by Emma You will think this animal is cute or lovable, but some people think otherwise. The Aye-Aye lives in the trees of Madagascar. The Aye-Aye has wooly brown fur and a long fluffy tail. They weigh 5 to 7 pounds (2-3 kilograms) and measure about 3 feet (1 meter) long from head to tail. The Aye-Aye has large eyes like a lemur but has very unusually large ears. The Aye-Aye is nocturnal and bores (digs a hole) into trees with its large front teeth. It uses its long clawed third finger to grab insects from inside the hole. The government of Madagascar protects Aye-Ayes by forbidding people to hunt them. However, the Aye-Aye is an endangered creature.

The Blobflsh byAlexa

/

One of the weirdest animals on Earth is right here, right now. The one and only BLOBFISH. It can reach about one foot. Sadly, the blobfish was named the ugliest animal on Earth in 2013. They live in the waters off of Australia and New Zealand. The blobfish eats sea slugs and worms--which must be like eating itself, because both are so slimey. Can you eat the blobfish? No. It has too much fat and no muscle to chew on. How gross! I don’t think anyone would want to eat it, but there is a first for everything. Some people think that the blobfish isn’t ugly. Weird! That’s all for now. See you later alligator...actually! See you latei~ blobfish!

Tigger by Cameron

So, here is how it goes. I lost my mom on the Titanic. I know that sounds weird, right, but this story is about me. My name is Bango and I live in the jungle. Yes, you might guess that I’m a tiger, and I am very lonely. But this story’s real name is The Revenge of the Titanic.

I am on the way to the underwater Titanic ship. I am trying to find the iceberg that hit the Titanic. To get to the iceberg I had to go through falling rocks, blizzards, tornadoes, tsunamis, and then an avalanche! I finally swam to the iceberg. I had to climb up the ice rock and then I slipped, but suddenly I reached the top and defeated the iceberg and WON! The End!

Home Sweet Home By Annabelle Do you like wildlife? Well, if you do that is great. I’m Teddy and I’m a panda who loves bamboo. I live in a cool forest where I am free. This is my story. I was born where it was rainy, but we moved where it was cool and there were trees, so we only got a little sprinkle. One day, there were people who came and took me and my family to a zoo; I was scared. But my mom found a way to soothe me.

At the zoo, children clung to the glass. But then we came to a stop with all this. We went to a different room where it felt like home. For a long time, well, two weeks. And then I was returned to my home by the r ookeepers. Home sweet home. -

Rhino By Olive Once there was a Rhino named Olive. She loved to read books. Her favorite book is A Snicker of Magic. She lives in Virginia with her parents and two dogs. She goes to Norfolk Academy, the Rhino School. She loves Rhinos. One day, on the first day, everyone made fun of her. They said she was weird. But she soon made a best friend named Lovey and had a two-week sleepover. They got into some fights, but they loved each other for life. But then, Lovey moved away! Now Olive had no friends, and she was lonely for two whole months. Soon she met a new friend named Josh, and they lived happily ever after.

Lionchata By Lucy-Gage Lionchata is a real-life animal, as it roams in its natural habitat. This creature will be very vicious--just joking. The Lionchata is a very nice animal, but very adventurous. This animal leaps from tree to tree. They eat pineapples, berries, pears, raspberries, and strawberries. This animal loves to swim in water. So, one day Lionchata was on a walk and suddenly a panda comes over and growls at Lionchata and said, “want to be friends?” Lionchata said, “sure!” They were afraid of each other but once they hung out for one long minute they were besties...

Chapter Two One day Lionchata was with Pixy the panda. Pixy needed to go and get some fruit. Pixy did not tell Lionchata that she had left her so Lionchata was

/

walking away. While Lionchata was gone, Pixy fell off the tree and could not get up. Lionchata noticed that Pixy was gone. She worried and went to find him. She thought it was a dream, and she was lost.

Chapter Three “Pixy!!!,” yelled Lionchata. “Where are you??” She started to cry. “I wish I knew where he was.” “Lionchata!!,” yelled Pixy. Lionchata was so happy that Pixy was close. “Lionchata!” “Pixy. .come here, Pixy!” . .

“I can’t. My leg. My leg. I think it’s broken:’

After Lionchata saved Pixy the panda, they decided that they should go to their treehouse in the Amazon Rainforest. They talked about how they had lost their parents when they were in a tree and it was chopped down. Pixy’s dad and Lionchata’s mom were in the tree. They knew they were going to be best friends forever. The End.

Lionchata tried to carry her to Lionchata Lake. It’s a magical lake and Lionchata healed Pixy. Pixy felt so free. “Thank you!!!” Chapter Four

Guinea Pig by Ellie Oh, so hi! My name is Felicity Grayson and this is my

story. Let’s get started... • So, one day, I’m excited because my birthday is tomorrow and I LOVE pigs. And when I say I love pigs, ~ mean I really, really love pigs. If you were wondering, I am so excited because I heard my mom say that she 1was getting me one for my birthday! Chapter Two: Bed Time I

Now, it’s bedtime. 9pm. I’m now in bed and I can’t sleep. I’m so excited that I just can’t wait! I wish my birthday was now! I want to sleep. What--when did I fall asleep? Now it’s the morning. Wait, if it’s the 4morning then...no...it can’t be...IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

4

Chapter Three: Breakfast “Good morning!” I yelled from my room.

“Happy Birthday!” my mom yelled back. “Come down for breakfast:’ “What about presents?’ “Come on,” my mom said, annoyed. So I ran down the stairs so fast my feet barely touched the steps and I ate my breakfast within ten seconds. “Present time?:’ I questioned. “Sure!,” my mom replied. Wait for me in the living room. I’ll go get my camera.
