camp woodward The aim of this advertising campaign was to try and add some personality into Camp Woodward. These adverts are focused purely on the Inline Program and the most used parks in the camp by Inliners. In each individual poster design, I have tried to portray each skaters individual style (by mapping their personalitys through mainly typography) and really tried to capture what they’re about in the hope that if you were to see all the posters together it would give one a better understanding of the Inline culture. Which is really needed at the moment as the Inline industry has been through so much change that most peoples perception of Inline skating is outdated. So another element that adds to this campaign is a reintroduction into what modern Inline skating truely is.
heat This was the result of a random thought one day during a uni lecture / workshop. It was for my 3D Modeling & Rendering class. The lecturer showed us how to design text based signs and my initial reaction was “I need to make an ad using this technique�. I started gathering ideas on the train ride home and then 4 hours later, this was the result.

hear and say 2010 butterfly appeal The style of the 2010 Butterfly appeal eventuated from the positive responses from Hear and Say’s 2008 and 2009 Annual Report design, which I have also designed. Rather than previous appeals where the focus was on colourful butterflies, this current appeal was focused on the children, which communicates an emotional connection with the Centre. These A4 flyers were then delivered to KFC stores and Suncorp branches.

nike usa The idea of this advertising campaign was to communicate to the target audience through their own national icon.The Statue of Liberty is more than just a landmark for Americans, it’s a representation of everything they stand for. And so, by the Stature of Liberty wearing Nike shoes, it almost becomes mandatory that the American public do the same. However the slogan “Just Can’t Resist” makes the entire add less like you are forced to wear nike because your national icon wears them, and more “ they feel and look great anyway so why not wear them!”

The overall idea in designing these posters was to portray a sense of excitement, vibrance and reflecting the feeling of the actual dance styles, but still remain consistant to an extent. The exciting namestyles and vibrant background and consistant grid layout work to achieve this look.

brothers in arms Roughly 200 hours in design time, this is easily the largest job I’ve designed to date. This 150+ page book was complete with silver foiling for the cover and spine of the hard back, dust jacket, ISBN, soft cover, full appendix and index sections and autographs page. To top things off 95% of the images thrughout the book had to be scanned and re-touched – with on average 2-3 images per spread!
Frequently Asked Questions Why is using ZipSmart a better option than purchasing outright? It provides fewer constraints on your cash flow, has far better tax advantages and spreads the cost of the equipment over its useful life.

creative juice The name “Creative Juice” comes from the whole designer/artsy slang for a creative mind / vision. The idea for the concept was to turn this saying into something literal – an actual range of juice poppers (one for each Major thus making them creative). I’ve tried to transform the typography into a more liquidy, jelly, sort of loose look and feel to follow this idea. The background is trying to incorporate a sense of wildness to show that a creative mind can see-through anything, no matter how crazy or wild it may be and that the design process can start with something silly and turn it into something really interesting, which is what this concept is a little bit about.

This is my “spare time fun project� and I usually get around to making a full magazine every month and a half. The longest process is just taking the photos! A5, usually around 48 pages.
cottee’s 5-a-side One of FFA’s more recent grassroots initiatives aimed for younger primary school children. This job consisted of a variety of teacher resources, colouring in competion, rules and activities all tucked away nicely in a custom die folder.

mango tango In designing these I was battling with consistency. Trying to create a look that is universal over three completely different dance styles that also have three completely different origins is hard to do. Then it hit me. What if I designed for the feeling of these dances rather than the connotations associated with the dance style itself. So now the concept was to create a look that would create the feeling of physically dancing to these dance styles. Two things came to mind, they were fun and movement. So these two ideas became the foundation for the entire concept and mood of the three flavours.
the spot skatepark As far as the interior layout of the Skatepark, I thought to myself (a) what would I want to skate that is not available at other skateparks and (b) how can I make the whole skating experience better than anything else offered. To answer these questions in the interior layout, I designed a more linear Skatepark with timber ramps, variety in coping that can cater to Inliners as well as Skateboarders, comfortable seating, appropriate lighting for skating at night and also a skate shop that sells spare parts, cold drinks and many more. Designed in 3D Max.

war all the time In this day and age of downloading mp3’s, it is an easy option to not put a whole lot of effort into designing the artwork for CD’s. No doubt it is far easier to purchase your favourite songs off the computer in the comfort of your own home, however I would be more inclined to purchase a CD if the artwork was truly original and worth hanging on to. Thursday is the name of an American rock group who write songs which protest issues such as race, war & religion. The lyrics to their single “War all the Time” offers their thoughts on America’s involvement with war throughout history and how it effects and shapes the future generation (with the tendency to be quite negative).

nineteen eighty-four
One of my mates birthday is on haloween. He asked me to design up an invitation for his 21st... This was what I came up with. He liked it, alot.
The concept for the cover artwork is to highlight the entire feel to George Orwell’s book “1984”. As this is the very book that introduced Big Brother, I decided to incorporate that feel of someone always watching you. This is displayed througn the eye emerging through all of the darkness on the front cover. I have kept the typography very unstylised to highlight the fact that “The Party” can over-rule anything they choose, even design.
