NOW OPEN F45 LONG BRANCH F45 Long Branch offers functional training in a controlled group environment. Their 45-minute workouts are specifically designed to deliver the results you want from an exercise program by providing a full-body workout while improving energy levels, metabolic rate, strength, and endurance. F45 Long Branch has two certified trainers coaching each class and video monitors that guide you through each exercise. It’s personalized training at a fraction of the cost. F45 classes are fun and addictive. They have thousands of exercises, awesome challenges and no workout is ever the same. At F45 Long Branch, they place an emphasis on safety. Their trainers are certified, have a solid background in kinesiology, and they’re happy to customize modifications to suit a variety of fitness and injury profiles. The goal is not just to get you through the door, but to keep you hitting that floor. Franchise owner, LeAnne Armano, is a Long Branch resident, long time TV producer, wife, and mother of two. She struggled for

years to find a gym that offered exceptional programming and convenient times to fit her busy work and home life. The logical conclusion was just to open one herself. Thanks to the support of her husband, Mike, her two girls, Lila and Darcy, and her awesome studio manager/head trainer, Elle Rochefort, her dream is now a reality! A little about Elle Rochefort...

As a former provincial level lacrosse player, Elle has always had a competitive side. After a devastating spinal injury as a young adult, she pursued a Kinesiology degree and later became an RMT. She has found the key to a pain-free life through movement and has been working in adaptive training and rehabilitation for a decade. Elle is also a nutrition coach. She loves helping people of all levels and abilities find the movements and nutrition plans that work best for them. With an approach centred on consistency and mindfulness, her clients find themselves feeling better, moving better and meeting their goals in a way that is sustainable and habit-based. Elle is a 5x Tough Mudder, Powerlifter and Amateur Boxer. She has completed over 125 F45 classes and enjoys competing on the Lionheart leaderboard.

PUBLISHER’S NOTE WE DID IT!!! Saint Jessica of Long Branch! This month’s cover feature shines a light on Tyler Pope. Tyler lives in Long Branch, contributes editorial to this publication under the Home & Lifestyle banner, is involved in our community through her work with the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association and she’s also a Realtor. Tyler launched one of those why-didn’t-I-think-of-that businesses, called Your Home Chaperone. Read all about it in this month’s cover story on page 16.

ROGER TUMMINIERI

Publisher & Long Branch Resident Welcome to our September edition.

Let me start off by saying thank you to all of our Editorial Contributors! Without your dedication to the magazine, it simply wouldn’t be. I so appreciate your work. I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Derek Stockley into the fold. Derek is the Senior Dean of the Faculty of Social and Community Services and the Principal of Humber College Lakeshore Campus. This month, he’s kicking off our What’s On Campus section with a Community Brief detailing upcoming events at the Lakeshore Campus. Next, I’d like to give a shout-out to all the parents with school-aged children out there. WE DID IT!!! Back to school couldn’t have come any sooner. Thanks for my wife, Jessica, who bore the brunt of the summer vacation, sans camp. As I like to call her;

Thanks to an astute reader (who’s ironically also a member of the Friends of Marie Curtis Park) for pointing out to Bill Zufelt that I had captured an incorrect date in a photo caption for an article he wrote for our last edition celebrating the 60th anniversary of Marie Curtis Park. The date in the caption should have been 1959. As the kids say: my bad. I attended the launch of The Cottage Years; a photographic exhibit featuring photos of Long Branch from days gone by, as well as paintings from Pat Rice, a Long Branch resident. The exhibit runs until Sept. 28 at the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre. I highly recommend checking it out. I was moved by the works on display. They reinforced how special a place Long Branch is and how, even with modern technology and development, we haven’t drifted too far from our roots as a Village. Kudos to the entire Curation Team for such a wonderfully enlightening community exhibit. Thanks for reading, Published By

COMMUNITY PRECONDO JOINS OFFICE146 Precondo’s goal is a simple one; to help our clients achieve financial freedom by means of leveraging the Toronto Condo market as an investment vehicle. We focus on a no-pressure, no-strings-attached approach to enable Pre-Construction Condo investments. Five years in, we’ve gone from a one man show to an eleven person team. We’re a team of locals who love and specialize in our market - so we needed space to work collaboratively, but space that would grow as we did. Office146 gives us the community and, more importantly, the freedom to expand. Minutes away from the 427 & Gardiner junction, we’re easily accessible to our client base while avoiding the pitfalls of a Downtown location.

JAMES MALONEY MP, Etobicoke-Lakeshore

On Monday August 19, Etobicoke-Lakeshore MP James Maloney was joined by Toronto Mayor John Tory to make an important announcement at Humber Bay Park West. The federal government will be investing $11.9 million and the City of Toronto will be investing $18.9 million to reduce the impact of flooding here in Etobicoke-Lakeshore and across the Toronto waterfront. Taking measures to prevent erosion along the Toronto shoreline will help protect families and businesses during storms and spring thaw. COMMUNITY BRIEF SEPTEMBER 2019 These days you can feel the weather changing a bit. The signs of autumn are slowly showing, as the end of summer is becoming everyone’s favourite conversation. But the end of summer is also the start of the school year, and with this comes the energy of new beginnings. September is filled with excitement and opportunity, not just on campus but within the community. As Humber continues to play an active role in the community, perhaps it is most visible at events like Etobicoke-Lakeshore Culture Days. Etobicoke-Lakeshore Culture Days, one of the highlights of Fall down by the Lake, is taking place on September 28 and 29. This year marks the eighth year that Humber College is participating in the festival and we’re thrilled to bring the community activities that are free, interactive and, of course, educational. We are also thrilled to be partnering with our friends from Lakeshore Arts, the City of Toronto’s Assembly Hall, and Mimico by the Lake BIA. Culture Days is the result of our shared efforts, showing that in the case of the success that is Culture Days, it really does take a village. This year, our programming will be taking an interesting spin. We’re highlighting different traditional arts and crafts from various cultures with a unique focus on the significance behind them. We have a variety of activities for children and adults alike that bring the rich history of other cultures right to our community. There will be Henna “Mehndi” hand art classes, Rangoli “art with purpose”, African Voyages stories with Niacko Backo, DIY South African Inspired Jewelry and the Art of Wood Block Painting to name a few. We will also be partnering with Assembly Hall and Lakeshore Arts to bring you KUNÉ, a celebration and exploration of Canada’s cultural diversity. Its 11 musicians hail from all corners of the globe - from Peru, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Ukraine, and beyond to bring you this family friendly interactive musical performance. Finally, there is one activity that we are particularly excited to host. The Waatebagaa

Giizis Festival is a celebration of Indigenous identity that is held on Humber Campus. Over the past 6 years the Aboriginal Resource Centre has been in partnership with Culture Days to bring together community members for our annual powwow. I invite you to come out to any and all Culture Days activities on Humber campus to see our role in the community first-hand. While you’re here, come explore the Indigenous Cultural Markers and learn more about the migration story of the Anishinaabe people. Stop by our Welcome Centre and step back in time for a visit to “Toronto’s favourite summer resort” as we celebrate the 135th anniversary of Long Branch through The Cottage Years Exhibit that is running. Perhaps you want to dive further into history and book one of our underground tunnel or film tours. Whatever your interest, I invite you to come to campus for Culture Days and stay to explore its history and our projects that help us build the community for today and tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you there! DEREK STOCKLEY

HUMBER LAKESHORE WHAT’S ON CAMPUS Memories of The Cottage Years One hundred and thirty-five years ago, Long Branch Park was established. An exclusive summer resort for Toronto’s elite, the Park spared no expense in the amenities available for vacationers. For those inclined towards sports there were facilities for lawn bowling, tennis, croquet, archery, quoits, baseball, and lacrosse; while gravel walkways lined with dense trees and electric lamps were available for those who preferred a quiet walk. Of course, the water was certainly the centre of attention with swimming, boating, and fishing being popular. And for the truly daring there was also Canada’s very first waterslide: a steeply sloped track that was descended by toboggan! The Park’s popularity would soon spill out from behind its gated boundaries and the name of “Long Branch” would come to represent a series of subdivisions that stretched all the way to Etobicoke Creek. Although some of the subdivisions mimicked the beautiful Queen Anne style architecture of the original Park, a diverse collection of cottages, cabins, and campsites appeared along the shoreline in the early decades of the twentieth century before being replaced by or converted to permanent homes by mid-century. Harken back to days past with The Cottage Years, a nostalgic photograph exhibit of the industry that shaped Long Branch. Created in partnership between the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association and the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre, The Cottage Years exhibit is on the third floor of 2 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive, until September 28th. THE COTTAGE YEARS RUNS UNTIL SEPT. 28 In 1984 the Long Branch Historical Society celebrated Long Branch’s Centennial with an ambitious host of planned activities including an archaeological excavation of The Samuel Smith Cabin site, a parade, a plan to build a replica of the Long Branch Park’s twelve-foot gates and a Centennial Calendar. The calendar project did come to fruition with a beautiful spiral bound on thickly woven parchment paper. The calendar featured hand drawn illustrations of the iconic Victorian cottages , the luxury Japanese Pagoda Hotel, the Dancing pavilion , the wharf and the ‘Defiance’ a stone hooking and cargo schooner built in 1845 at the mouth of the Etobicoke Creek.

COVER STORY TYLER POPE; OWNER, YOUR HOME C I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tyler for several months; first as an Ad Partner and then as an Editorial Contributor. She’s one of the most positive, upbeat people I’ve met here and has a wonderful passion for Long Branch. Tyler has recently launched a business called Your Home Chaperone and runs it in conjunction with her career as a Realtor. I’m happy to feature her on this month’s cover. Here’s what Tyler had to say about what inspired her to start Your Home Chaperone and her love of all things Long Branch... - Roger Tumminieri, Publisher Etobicoke Lakeshore Press FIRST THING’S FIRST. HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN LONG BRANCH AND WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 5 FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD?

I’ve been living in Long Branch for 11 years now and love it! Can’t picture myself anywhere else, plus I love being close to the water. Here’s my Top 5: 1. Great sense of community and there are always local events happening. 2. Awesome shops, cafes and restaurants along the Lakeshore. I love supporting our locals, getting to know neighbours... it feels like family. 3. Long walks and runs along the waterfront and stopping to say HI to all the friendly doggies. 4. There is such a variety of house styles here in Long Branch. It’s not cookie cutter and that’s what first attracted me to this neighbourhood. 5. Location; it’s easily accessible to downtown, highways and everything are at your fingertips, groceries, salons, churches, schools and community centres. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO LAUNCH YOUR HOME CHAPERONE? WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE BUSINESS?

The company started with just a thought, I had no idea it would become what it is now. My grandmother travelled a lot and would ask me if I could take care of her home while she’s away. Then her neighbours asked if I could watch their house as well. One thing lead to another and I soon realized there is a need for home-sitting. I truly do like to 16

CHAPERONE, REALTOR & LONG BRANCH RESIDENT help and be of service. This company has been so rewarding emotionally for me, too. It was worth the leap of faith. WHAT SERVICES DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN WITH YOUR HOME CHAPERONE?

All our plans are customized to meet the clients’ needs. We collect the mail, water plants, do a walk-through of the house to make sure everything is ok, we fill the fridge with food before clients get back, take out the garbage, pick up dry cleaning... we will help wherever we can to make our clients’ transition back home as easily as possible. WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO PURSUE A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?

My dad, now retired, was in Property Management for years and I would see how hard he worked and the long hours he put in to help people find a place to live. Many of those people were new immigrants to Canada. The tears of joy they would express for the kindness and help of my dad totally inspired me and I wanted to help, too. It’s definitely evolved since then but I honestly don’t know if I would have been a Realtor if it wasn’t for my dad. FILL IN THE BLANK: LONG BRANCH IS FULL OF...?

Community Spirit! I’m very proud to be part of the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association and it showed me just how much Long Branch residents care and support each other. IF YOU COULD OFFER ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO LIVE IN LONG BRANCH, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

TYLER POPE

Speaks about her inspiration to launch Your Home Chaperone, her passion for real estate, and her love for all things Long Branch

If you don’t like friendly people, great local cafes and patios, amazing restaurants and shops, easy access to downtown, walking along the waterfront, bike trails, dogs, good schools and community centres, parks, different styles of homes...then Long Branch might not be the place for you :)

JENNY SHEARMAN

Personal Chef & Owner, My Sweet Beet

While I have enjoyed the time with the kids this summer, I am really looking forward to the routine that school brings. Packing lunches for school is a different story. It can get stressful, boring and repetitive, with complaints of not another sandwich again! Here are some tips when planning: Ask the kids to help. Take their suggestions seriously as they are the ones eating it. Keep it simple. Most kids want to finish and go out to play, so think bite-size pieces. Making it easy to eat is key.

ROYAL MEATS BAR/BEQUE 710 Kipling Ave / 416-251-1144 www.royalmeats.ca

Use leftovers. If they loved dinner, it’s a good bet they will eat it for lunch. Invest in good containers. The bento style is ideal as it has compartments that can be filled with a protein, fruit and vegetables, and lets you be creative. Make it as colourful as possible with familiar fruits & vegetables you know they will eat. Try blanched green beans or edamame, cherry tomatoes, orange segments, or diced watermelon, for example. On Sunday, organize your week. A few hours in the kitchen meal prepping and planning can save time and stress in the long run.

COFFEE CONNOISSEUR ON LA CREMA CAFE It’s always a pleasure to speak with those devoted patrons who call La Crema their second home. This month, we met Ruben, an Alderwood resident and truck driver. Given his profession, he’s no stranger to coffee. In fact, one could consider his caffeine consumption a matter of health and safety. He’s got to remain alert at all times. We asked Ruben why he frequents the best little cafe in Alderwood. Here’s what he had to say about La Crema and its owner, Andrei Novakovskiy... “I rely on coffee every day. Like everyone else, I’ve tried all the big name brands but none compare to what Andrei makes. He’s doing it right. The coffee here is so well done and Andrei is such a personable and friendly guy. I won’t drink coffee from anywhere else.“ Take it from Ruben and try La Crema Cafe. ANDREI NOVAKOVSKIY

REAL ESTATE BUYING IN A SELLER’S MARKET Financing in a seller’s market is a nerve-wracking proposition because there is often a need to “go firm” with your financing or make an offer without a condition of financing. A condition of financing is important because it allows you to rescind your offer within a specified time if you are unable to finalize your financing. However, when there are ten bidders for a property, such a condition can be the death of your deal.

you can up front. Understand that a pre-approval is not the same as a full approval. Set your target price and then if the bidding goes higher than expected, be disciplined. There is no cure-all for trying to buy in a seller’s market but by following these simple steps you give yourself the best chance to be successful.

The trouble is, if you waive your condition you are then on the hook to close the purchase. No matter what. Period. If your financing doesn’t come through, which can happen from time to time you could be looking at serious legal consequences. So, the question is what do you do? There is no silver bullet for financing but the simplest thing to do is remember the old adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. MIMICO Q&A WITH TAMMY MCINTOSH Other than training at F45 New Toronto, where else do you train/teach?

TAMMY MCINTOSH

Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor IG: @bodyandsoulfitess

In the past few years, I’ve worked in a number of wonderful studios and gyms that allowed me to be part of their team. However, in the last month I’ve made some changes that have narrowed my focus to the areas that occupy the most real estate in my heart. Most of my time is spent at F45 New Toronto and Alive Yoga & Fitness. What’s your fave thing about living in Mimico?

It’s a perfect mix of city and suburbs. Its charm is best appreciated if you’re able to pause and listen to the sounds of the waves along the lakeshore with the gentle hum of city sounds behind you. What do you love most about personal training?

There isn’t only one answer to this question for me; but if I had to choose just one moment that cements in my heart that I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing, it would be when a client finds the courage, motivation, determination, when they identify WHY they are doing what they’re doing and push past their self doubt, self-imposed or physical limitations and surpass their own expectations of themselves.

This moment in past experience can sometimes involve tears and gratitude, but it’s one of my favourite moments because I get to tell them that I did nothing but remind them that “You can do it!”

ARTS & CULTURE 2019 EL CULTURE DAYS What makes a community livable? For most people, safety, security, affordability, and transportation are all important elements to consider. However, there is another often overlooked factor that adds value to a community - the presence and availability of arts programming. There’s no denying that the arts make our city a more livable, welcoming place. The same rings true for the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community. Residents can form deeper connections, a sense of pride and ownership to their community by engaging in the arts. Fortunately, engaging in the arts is easier than you think! Community festivals like the annual Etobicoke-Lakeshore Culture Days, are a great entry point for local residents who are “arts novices”. For example, at this year’s EL Culture Days (Sept. 28 & 29), Lakeshore Arts will transform Mimico Square in Amos Waites Park into a larger than life chalk map of the area. YOU are invited to create buildings, landmarks and houses from the community to add to the collaborative mapping of Mimico. Everyone can take part in this installation piece; one-part art, one-part map, and one part fun play structure. Best of all - it’s totally free and no experience is necessary! Now that’s value added!

STYLE & FASHION FALL FASHION FOR LESS

The best time of the year is here! For all you fashion-forward types, Fall is a great reason to treat yourself to a new wardrobe. But why break the bank? Plato’s Closet has two convenient locations and is a great place to load up on fall fashions and still have some money left over for books and other back to school essentials. Speaking of extra money, Plato’s Closet pays cash on the spot for items that you don’t wear anymore - say, from last fall. So, if you’re reading this and you’re a student, or a Mom, or a dude just looking to up his fashion game, hop on the bus, get in your car, or call up an Uber and head to PLATO’S CLOSET TORONTO STOCKYARDS

your nearest Plato’s Closet location to take advantage of the great deals this fall. Don’t miss Plato’s Coat & Boot Event on September 28 & 29 at both stores! It’s a thing. If you’re a millennial, we know that you suffer from FOMO. For you non-millennials, FOMO stands for Fear Of Missing Out. That’s also a thing. Roughly translated, it refers to one’s desire to be in several places at once. If, however, you can only be in one place at one time, it’s recommended that you be at Plato’s Closet Coat & Boot Event. HEALTH & BEAUTY FOLLOW YOUR GUT Writing about Hemp every month is a very interesting exercise. It requires a modicum of research and often reveals little known facts that we hope enlighten our readers. This month, however, the focus of the article you’re now reading has nothing to do with a product that’s offered at Cloud Heads. In this edition, we’ve decided to capture the essence of a decision made by its owner to follow his gut and not enter Ontario’s most recent Cannabis Retail Lottery. “I was going to do it,” explains Johnny, the owner of Cloud Heads, about entering the Lottery. “But then I started to get that feeling Ask about the Loyalty Program the next time you’re shopping at Cloud Heads. in my gut that said No.” “I kept thinking about all of our valued customers who have come in since we opened who are looking to learn more about hemp and cbd products,” he continues. “Everyone is different and each and every person is important. The smiles and great messages are priceless knowing we helped someone live their life through the best plant on earth. It’s not about the greed, it’s about the weed.”

Just after Luke was born last July, I wrote about a few very nice women I met at Marie Curtis Park one day who asked me what I was going to do with a baby and a 5-yearold that summer. I said I was just going to wing it. I still remember the look they gave me. We got through last summer relatively unscathed. But this summer...not so much. Now I know what those ladies meant! This summer has been lovely and I’ve really enjoyed spending SO MUCH TIME ALONE with Jaxon while Luke demands all of my attention. My husband, God love him, gets to go to work to escape the chaos...I mean quality time with our boys. Roger wasn’t immune to it, though. He wakes up every night in a cold sweat, muttering: “No! Stop! Don’t!!!” These are the words he’s spoken most this summer to Jaxon as he happily goes about

In short, no more winging it. Next summer, we’re sending Jax to camp. Do they offer 10-week sleepover camps for 7-year-olds? (My husband made me write this.)

Wow...what a summer it’s been! I had so much fun playing and not going to school. I like school. But I needed a break. I’m looking forward to starting Grade 2. Mommy and Daddy say they’re really looking forward to it, as well. They say they’re so excited for me to go back to school. They seem a little too excited, though.

Toddler Life Editor

He’s such a great baby brother! He told me to write that. I hope everyone has had a great summer. See you around the neighbourhood!

Mommy says she’s really enjoyed spending the whole summer with me. I think she’s being sarcastic. Daddy just has this blank, zombie-like look on his face. He talks to himself a lot, too. I caught him looking up military schools the other day. I hope that’s for Luke! Speaking of Luke, he’s practically running now. He’s a tough kid, too. He falls a lot and just picks himself up and keeps on going.

LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE WITH A NEW FIREPLACE Whether a focal design element or a corner piece, the ambiance and comfort of a fire can change the space and vibe of your home. If you have an eye for design, a need to entertain, a love for mood lighting or a soul ready for cozy Friday nights, you’ll want to consider these things before you begin building a living space around a fireplace. The very first question we all should be asking is: Do you already have a pre-existing fireplace? Whether you’re renovating, building a new home, or converting from an old wood-burner, you will need to consider where to direct vent your new gas unit first. Secondly, consider gas lines, and lastly move on to design. What Works For Which Home: Style and Layout Does your home have high, vaulted ceilings and a wide wall to point furniture toward? This would be the perfect scenario for a gas fireplace, or a wood burning unit with a gas log lighter. Pair it with a large and rustic brick hearth for a complete look.

For more traditional wants, many opt for period pieces like wood burning fire features with long chimneys. To avoid ash and ensure an ongoing flame, homeowners can try electric insert fires, or freestanding stoves.

LIFE’S UNDERTAKINGS BACK TO SCHOOL My most cherished fall-time memories – buying clothes with my mom, going to hockey practice with my dad, choosing new crayons, pencils and pens – remind me that the lens I am squinting through has changed. Although I still possess that school-boy wonder when fall time comes to town and seems to change everything, including me, I realize something at middle age that I didn’t realize in middle school. The fall season will be different only if I’m different.

BRAD JONES

Owner, Ridley Funeral Home

A type of “new year” will unfold only if I make different choices, install new habits, practice discernment when cultivating old and new relationships.

If you’re not a New Year’s Eve fan, you probably love September. Autumn is all about new beginnings, changing seasons and a fresh crispness to the air. When you really think about it, what’s not to love about September? NOTE: This question is not directed at school children. As funeral director Brad Jones watches his six kids prepare for “pencils, books and teachers’ dirty looks” (‘member that song?) he reflects on his own school days and realizes new beginnings always seem to follow final endings.

Perhaps Samhain is about raising our life standards rather than raising our dead.

There’s a beautiful Irish saying that a good man is known by his own light and the lights of his family and friends. Perhaps I’m channelling my 1% Irish heritage as the weeks ahead push toward the Celtic New Year. Samhain signifies the division of the year between the lighter half – summer – and the darker half – winter. For the ancient Celts 2,000 years ago, Samhain was a time when the divide between this world and the afterlife was at its thinnest.

I have a friend who jokes she “hates change but loves new.” Isn’t that the truth?

The encroaching darkness was an opportunity for spirits to step on through to the other side. Sounds like Halloween, doesn’t it? Well, it is. Samhain officially kicks off October 31st. So, what do the Celts, back to school and Halloween have in common? Murphy’s Law. As I listen to kids (big and small, young and old) groan and moan about going back to school or facing another “end of vacation” season, I smile at the irony. Our most significant beginnings, like our successes, always seem to come after a powerful ending or bitter failing. Let’s use an easy example: life. I have always loved September. Even as a young boy, I felt rejuvenated by the freshness, the freedom of new beginnings, the promise of another school year.

Whatever desk you’re returning to this fall, at school or at work, those parts of us that don’t change – and really, really need to change – are still waiting. School is always in session for the personality bits and pieces that stick around in the dark, waiting to be seen, healed, transformed, released.

As we watch a new season unfold and beckon us toward another dark winter, remember to embrace that childhood wonder about change and possibility. When you change, the world changes. Life is always brighter when you shine like a welcoming lighthouse rather than a scary jack-o-lantern. Every time we raise our standards about how we treat others and ourselves, I believe the silent majority on the invisible shore cheers in our direction. They see our light. We are changing with the seasons. Brad Jones is president and owner of locally owned, commission-free Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lake Shore Blvd) in Etobicoke. For many of us, September really means the beginning of the year. Summer brought more daylight, longer days, and relaxed evenings. September not only brings kids back to school but also all of us back to routine, shorter days, and no more busy weekends getting together with friends and neighbours. If summer put you off plan or simply made you change plans, this is a good time to review your intentions and maybe draw a new plan. September can mean a new start, a fresh beginning to the year but with the added value of experience that comes from the first two-thirds of the year. Review your intentions, re-plan, re-organize. Reset yourself for a new fresh start. Here at the pharmacy we can help you set new goals, review expectations and transform those dreams into actions. We offer weekly personalized meetings, health coaching and diet/exercise advice.
