ROCKWOOD AREA FARMERS LIGHT IT UP!

On December 8, Rockwood area farmers held true to tradition and lit it up during their 30th annual Rockwood Farmers’ Santa Claus Parade of Lights. Hundreds of parade-goers came to enjoy the decorated tractors and farm equipment, which included combines, sprayers, a tree cutter and several manure spreaders. Because let’s face it, nothing says Merry Christmas like a lit-up manure spreader! The parade made its way slowly through the community, one piece of equipment brighter than the next, and delighted visitors during its three-hour run. PHOTOS BY JOHN DRUMMOND.

SPIRIT OF 4-H

Calling All 4-H Leaders! Do you have an outstanding member in your dairy club who deserves to be recognized? We would love to help you reward their achievements and include their photo in The Link!

The Spirit of 4-H Award is sponsored by the Ontario Holstein Branch and aims to recognize the contributions of 4-H members in their respective counties. We encourage all 4-H Dairy Club Leaders to take advantage of this opportunity and contact the Branch to receive a leather portfolio to present to your county’s winner.

FESTIVE COWS

Homeland Takeoff Saskatoon got in on the Christmas spirit during a photoshoot with her herd mates before the holidays. “Flanked by a bunch of her friends, they were all curious what we were up to,” says Stephanie Lee Stephenson. She captured these magical shots, homemade garland and all, just before Christmas when there was still lots of snow. Combining her two passions – cows and photography – isn’t too hard, Stephanie adds. PHOTOS BY STEPHANIE LEE PHOTOGRAPHY.
