CULT-ure Map Southern Moreton Bay Islands 4184 was a unique creative mapping and self-publishing project. Created by the SMBI community, it was an opportunity to highlight the great locations, forgotten histories, local quirky facts and personal connections to Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
CULT-ure Map Project Coordinator and Russell (Canaipa) Island resident, Jeremy Staples brought along creative tools for the community to add their creative page at 7 workshops across SMBI from 31 AUG - 21 SEPT 2019.
The conclusion of the project is currently on your screen and was celebrated by an official launch, SMBI Sunset Social which included live art, workshops, musical acts and local food on the 6th October 2019 on the Karragarra Island Foreshore.
CULT-ure Map SMBI 4184 received funding from The Regional Arts Development Fund, a Queensland Government and Redland City Council partnership to support local arts and culture.
CULT-ure Map SMBI acknowledges that this project took place on Quandamooka Country.
