Partners Message

Unexpected Curveballs in a Mom’s Life As a parent, you want the best for your kids. My husband, Darrel, and I have been blessed with four wonderful children: Colin, Kristen, Mark and Taneal. I’m so happy to be a mom. My top priorities have been to nurture my children’s spiritual, physical and mental health. Sometimes life can throw you unexpected curveballs that throw off the balance you try to maintain for your family. However, unexpected goodness can be the result. In 1991, we received the shock of our lives. Our four-year-old son, Mark, was diagnosed with leukemia, so we followed the protocols recommended by doctors. I wasn’t looking for any “supplemental” answers, but a really kind lady gave us a sample of AIM’s barley grass powder and shared a copy of a book by Dr. Mary Ruth Swope. Around the same time, my mother watched a Christian TV show that featured Dr. Swope talking about how the barley plant is so beneficial for our health. It seemed like a God-given sign. When our doctor said that Mark could take the green barley powder, I decided this juice powder of barley grass would become a family affair so that we all would benefit. Most importantly, it gave Mark nutritional support for his immune system. Drinking it daily gave him green moustaches that always made the hospital nurses smile. As for me, I was healthy when I started taking BarleyLife but still received benefits in the form of more energy. I wasn’t getting consistent sleep spending nights

at the hospital to be with Mark, but BarleyLife helped to sustain my sense of well-being through that crisis. I’m so thankful that AIM was available at such a difficult time for our family. Mark is 33 now and doing very well. Being so pleased with the beneficial, healthy results my family experienced from taking a variety of AIM products, I couldn’t help myself from telling other people about them. We were a living testimonial to the benefits of this supplemental nutrition, which led to a pleasantly unexpected curveball: a home-based business. Having read a magazine article on women who ran businesses from home, I immediately told Darrel, “I could never do anything like that.” It’s good to be wrong about some things because I’ve been running my AIM home-based business for nearly 30 years. I’m so proud to be a mom representing a 39-year-old company with highquality products you can trust to deliver nutrition that works. Janet Breitkreutz, AIM Director Sherwood Park, Alberta

AIMega Oils Pure and unrefined. That’s the secret to delivering optimal quality of AIMega’s primary ingredients that support cardiovascular health. The oils from flax, sesame and sunflower seeds provide a rich source of plant-based omega-3 and-6 fatty acids—essential nutrients that your body cannot produce. To achieve the desired level of ingredient quality, AIMega contains cold-pressed, organic, virgin seed oils. AIM’s extraction process ensures undamaged nutrients and phytonutrients. (Note: this approach is also used for the olive-oil source of heart-healthy omega-9.)

Flax Seeds

Sesame and Sunflower Seeds

A 3-capsule serving of AIMega provides 1,140 mg of omega-3 in the form of ALA.

A 3-capsule serving of AIMega provides 570 mg of omega-6 in the form of LA.

As one of the richest sources of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is the parent fatty acid of the omega-3 family, flax seeds have been shown to provide cardioprotective properties. However, it is their oil that has greater bioavailability compared to milled or whole flax seeds.1

The parent fatty acid of omega-6 is linoleic acid (LA). Sesame and sunflower seed oils offer healthy, plentiful sources of these essential fatty acids, which are also beneficial for cardio health.2

The 2:1 Ratio

When you do AIMega math, you’ll note that you get double the amount of omega-3 compared to omega-6. Health Feature

Women and the Calci Bones are continuously turning over in a cycle of building, growing, excavating and rebuilding. Calcium is the primary building block in this cycle. This essential mineral cannot be manufactured by your body, so it must come from dietary intake every day. Only one percent of all the calcium stored in your body is found outside of your bones and teeth. This tiny percentage is used for many vital functions, including the widening and narrowing of blood vessels, the moving of muscles and the secreting of hormones. Adequate amounts of dietary calcium maintain balance, supporting necessary body functions and keeping bone material dense and strong. Women tend to be more susceptible to issues with bone density, which can be impacted by pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause. As an example, for the healthy development of a growing child during pregnancy and breastfeeding, calcium is in high demand. If a mother’s calcium intake is insufficient, then this mineral

will be taken from her bones (resorption).1 This is why it is important for moms to increase their intake of calcium-rich nutrition. But before supplementing with CalciAIM, a mom should consult with her health care practitioner.

The CalciAIM Difference

Many women supplement their calcium intake to ensure they get a sufficient amount. Those who choose CalciAIM know the difference between its 98 percent absorbable calcium powder and only 20 percent absorbability from capsules and 30 percent from tablets. Calcium is simply a difficult mineral to absorb supplementally unless it is delivered in a free-ionic form, which happens as soon as you add CalciAIM powder to water. Additionally, nutrients that support calcium absorption and bone health are also fundamental ingredients in the formulation: vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, L-lysine HCL, vitamin C, vitamin A and copper.

The Right Amount

For women over the age of 19, the recommended daily amount for calcium is 1,000 – 1,200 mg. Women require the higher amount when they reach the age of 51, around the start of menopause. For adults 19 to 50, the recommended upper limit is 2,500 mg of calcium a day. If you are 51 or older, the upper limit of daily calcium is 2,000 mg.2 CalciAIM helps to meet your daily requirement, and it is best taken with food. For efficacy and safety, each serving delivers an amount of calcium that your body can take at one time: around 400 mg. If you have two or three servings daily, take them at separate meals. Around 14 years ago, I had been using calcium supplements purchased in health food stores. When AIM introduced CalciAIM, I immediately ordered it and started taking it one to two times per day with meals. I faithfully take CalciAIM every day, and I can't thank AIM enough for this amazing, absorbable product. Janet Breitkreutz, AIM Director Sherwood Park, Alberta

A Cool Twist on Taking CalciAIM Most Members who supplement with CalciAIM enjoy its citrusy flavor as a beverage. When a group of South African AIM leaders got together, they got a taste of CalciAIM in a delectably frozen way: popsicles. As Chairman’s Club Director Joan van Rensburg recommended, “Blend one mango or half a pineapple with one scoop of CalciAIM, then freeze the mix in ice pop molds. Delicious, nutritious, refreshing and healthy. What a way to get in calcium, vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C. AIM rocks!” Consider putting this recipe on your list of summer things to do!

The ProPeas Healthy Choice Protein is a macronutrient that is essential for building much of your body structure: bones, hair, muscles, nails and organs. In fact, protein is present in every cell of your body, helping to build and repair cells and body tissue. The majority of people get enough protein in their diets, but it isn’t always from the healthiest sources. Red meat consumption, for example, introduces more fat into your body. A 2019 meta-analysis published in the journal Circulation determined that switching to high-quality, plant-based protein leads to more favorable fat levels in the blood, which promotes heart health.¹

Your musculoskeletal system is comprised of bones, cartilage, joints, ligaments, tendons and other connective tissue that support your body’s frame. AIM provides a dietary supplement that delivers compounds that are frame essentials for maintaining musculoskeletal health.

Cartilage is the protectively durable and flexible tissue that connects your joints and prevents bone ends from rubbing against each other. To build and repair cartilage, your body produces an amino sugar called glucosamine. As we age, our bodies make less of this essential joint compound, making glucosamine supplementation a practical option for repairing cartilage damage.

Fortify My Family AIM Director Emily Layton personally knows that out of the most painful experiences can come beautiful things. She ended up having a business that greatly serves people’s nutritional needs as a result of her 13-year-old daughter's health issues. “It started about three years ago,” Emily related. “We were in the throws of darkness, trying to figure out what was going on.” Recommendations to eliminate many foods that she loved didn't help. Between mother and daughter, many tears were shed. “It made me dive in to search for something that could help her,” Emily acknowledged. “Fortunately, AIM Director Elizabeth Walter reached out to me, knowing about the struggles we were having.”

Her daughter began taking AIM products including the Garden Trio, AIMega, Frame Essentials, PrepZymes and CoCoa LeafGreens. Within a couple of months, she started to feel like herself again. Today she is thriving. “I’m so grateful that Liz introduced me to AIM nutrition,” Emily declared. “I feel like this is an understatement but, truly, it has been so life-changing, and not only for my daughter. My whole family has experienced health benefits.” “We found this beautiful balance. It’s not about what you cut out, it’s more about what you get in your body,” Emily affirmed. “Since it was such a painful journey for us, I felt driven to share a better way that doesn’t have to be so hard.” When friends and other family members reached out for help, AIM nutrition worked for them as well. “It was amazing,” Emily stated. “I’m just so confident in the AIM products and the power of plants. This healthy awareness led to the creation of Fortify My Family. “It’s funny, but I wasn’t planning on it turning

“Orders are picked up at our home,” Emily explained. “It got to a point where I was doing 40 boxes a week. When someone doesn’t know what to do nutritionally, it’s so much easier to be handed a box of wholesome nourishment. This all happened organically, and I really love doing it.” Her journey has led to Emily becoming a shining example for good health in the community of Sandy, Utah. And this AIM Director has shown that she has what it takes to be welcomed into the AIM Member Spotlight. into a business,” Emily explained. “I just wanted to start an Instagram page to share information.” Soon, Emily began incorporating AIM products such as the Garden Trio with BarleyLife Xtra into boxes of plantbased food to provide smoothies and meals that people order and pay for through her Instagram page.

My Amazing AIM Business Shared by Ilze van Pletzen, AIM Director, Pretoria, South Africa I just love the AIM business opportunity that gives me the freedom of working from home. What a joy and blessing it is to be with my family, taking care of them and building my business by helping others to have better quality of life. During the lockdown, my business has grown. I am so thankful for The AIM Companies for doing everything in their power to give us the best service and working tirelessly to support us with everything we need to grow our business and be successful. Zoom really opened doors for us, reaching people far beyond what we could have ever imagined. Instead of being on the road, sitting in traffic or driving to meetings, this way of connecting and building relationships

with people from home has given me more time to be with my family as well as our animals. Speaking of pets, a recent addition to our home is a little kitten that I am fostering after finding her abandoned. She will be a part of our family until a loving home is found for her. In the meantime, this little kitty plays an observant role in my AIM business. She watches my computer screen while I’m placing orders or monitoring my amazing downline on the AIM website. Just thinking about The AIM Companies and its variety of nutrition that works makes me so excited for the future and what’s ahead. I’m loving every moment of the journey with my AIM Family.

Organically Speaking . . . The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) divides organic products into four categories: crops, livestock, processed products and wild crops.¹ According to USDA regulations, if produce is certified to have been grown in soil without the application of prohibited substances for three years prior to harvest, then it can be called organic.²

classes of cleaning solvents as well as for microbiological (bacteria) safety, heavy metals and several other nutritional markers.

The problem is that certified organic fruit and vegetables have tested positive for synthetic pesticide residues likely due to contamination.³ Once a farm has been organically certified, its produce is not tested utilizing the same standards as AIM. Even though the AIM products are not certified as USDA organic, we believe that our product quality testing is more thorough than organic procedures. Why? Because AIM does things much differently. All of our products are independently tested by AIM as well as by third-party laboratories to ensure the absence of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. It does not end there. Products are also tested for the presence of residue from over 25 different
