‘The Albany is a hidden gem’ The Guardian, July 2009

We asked some of the most exciting artists we know working in music, spoken word and theatre - given the space and a tiny bit of money - what would they really like to do? We also asked some of the audience the same question. The result has turned the Albany into a platform for ideas, collaboration, debate and some very unexpected events - with an open invitiation to be part of the fun. In the mix are our six new associate artists who will be working with us over the next year - poet, DJ and musician Charlie Dark, aerial company Upswing, dance artist Curtis James and spoken word artists, musicians and theatremakers Polarbear, Maxwell Golden and Zena Edwards. This brochure gives you the flavour of everything on offer. We hope you enjoy the selection and let us know what you think. Gavin Barlow
