Welcome to the Albany Autumn at the Albany is packed full of remedies for the darker evenings, kicking off with two very different pieces exploring British life and culture from fantastic Albany supported artists. Multiple treats for the whole family, thrilling physical shows – from dance theatre to circus - the best in contemporary drama and some great music complete the picture across our three sites; the Albany, Deptford Lounge and Canada Water Culture Space. Bernadette Russell returns at the very start of the season with the world premiere of How To Be A Hero, featuring local stories of heroism (p.3), followed by Simon Mole and Peader Kirk’s new show, No More Worries (p.4) a funny, poignant and poetic imagining of a journey around Britain in a campervan called Olive. The family programme features new adaptations of beloved books including our Christmas show: The Bear by Raymond Briggs (p.17), creator of The Snowman. Associate Company Upswing present their dazzling new show, Bedtime Stories (p.9), and Deptford Lounge has a half-term dance treat bursting with African tales and beats with When King Gogo Met the Chameleon (p.9). Dance and circus work includes the world premiere of 16 Singers (p.7), one for your tiny dancers (aimed at 0-18 month olds), brand new dance piece Co-Mission from State of Emergency (p.11), and exhilarating international circus for all ages from BettiCombo (p.10). Completing the programme is an eclectic mix of live music (pages 8, 12 & 20) – from the handpicked best of local grassroots talent to a weekend of soul, jazz and opera for the EFG London Jazz Festival (pages 13 & 14). We look forward to seeing you.

Dynamic Ticket Pricing The Albany’s policy is to set ticket prices based on demand, which means we set a price when the event goes on sale and then sometimes put the price up or down depending on how the show is selling. Usually the price will increase as we get closer to the event, so it is advantageous to book early.
Try something new We have a limited number of £1 tickets (10 for most shows) available for shows at the Albany and Deptford Lounge. Come and see dance, drama, family shows and more for just £1. Subject to availability. Capacity dependent. Only two tickets per show per person. Up to two shows per person.
