archer girls lead the way Archer was founded by three visionary women who dared to dream of something different for their daughters. Three women who had the inherent belief that when you empower and educate girls, you change the world.
At their very center, Archer girls are forward-thinking, innovative, and curious. They have an insatiable desire to learn and are not afraid to take risks and tackle big ideas. Every girl brings her own unique perspective, her own talents, and her own dreams to the Archer community. What brings us together is a spirited, ambitious approach to learning and to life. At Archer we recognize and take seriously the fact that we are educating this country’s next generation of leaders. Our program and curriculum is based on the notion that when students are given the freedom and opportunity to create, they thrive. Following are just a few examples of programs, as well as students, who are leading the way.

Seventeen years ago, their passion, hard work, and perseverance to start a school proved to be the spark that ignited a tradition of expert teaching and learning at The Archer School for Girls. That same pioneering spirit is alive today and is evidenced by the astounding accomplishments of our students and alumnae.
In May, Archer’s Institute for Film & Video Literacy hosted the first-ever Archer Film Festival at the Linwood Dunn Theatre in Hollywood. The festival featured keynote speaker Nina Jacobs, Executive Producer of the “Hunger Games” and President and Founder of Color Force. The two-day festival concluded with panels of industry professionals speaking on such topics as: “Women in Film,” “Breaking into the Business,” and “From Page to Screen.” (See pg. 8 for the full article.) This year’s Festival is scheduled for May 24 & 25, 2013. (continued on page 15)
