This workshop covers raku glazing, firing, postfiring reduction and cleaning. Students should bring up to 6 bisqued pots (cone 10 or raku-specific clay only) no larger than 8" x 8" . It’s an easily accomplished process with great creative possibilities. Methods of transparent overlays and collage applications will also be introduced, as well as a discussion of Japanese papermaking. Marilyn Rose 18U WKS571: Wednesday, Jun 13, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM 1 session $125 Mate rial fee All $10 levels No senior discount or membership fee Urban sketching has become a popular pursuit. Our area is a great place to get started; we have a variety of people and activities to watch, and beautiful architecture. Practice how to really “see” what’s in front of you, and capture it on the page, by looking at shapes, not objects. Explore the spaces and connections between things. Adding words, collage and color will help you learn to fill the page and create a visual diary of the world around you - then you’re on your way to recording the story of your life through sketches! A sketchbook and pen will be provided; feel free to bring any other supplies you might like to embellish your pages (watercolors, glue, inks, crayons, colored pencils, etcetera).
