individuals make
our
community
The arts inspire creativity and develop individuality. Like the snowflakes created by our young cover artists, our community is made up of unique individuals dedicated to making art together. We send our best wishes to you and your family for a joyous holiday season, and a happy and healthy new year!

From all of us at The Art School at Old Church
Dear Friends, The Art School at Old Church has been developing individual creativity since 1974, and while our mission to improve the quality of life in our community and region continues, the COVID-19 pandemic has made our work especially challenging. We need your help to ensure that in better days we will be stronger than ever. COVID-19 forced the cancellation of our Spring semester, preventing more than 700 students from taking part in our art education programs. Our projected overall financial loss is $250,000, resulting in the elimination of our much-needed scholarship and tuition-assistance programs. Now more than ever, we need your support. Since March, we have found innovative ways to keep our Art School community creative and connected. We expanded our offerings to include online classes for all ages, as well as free online workshops, exhibitions, and events. We have made significant changes in our facilities to ensure safe in-person participation. We know it has been an exceptionally difficult year for everyone. Please consider a year-end gift to The Art School at Old Church. Every donation allows individuals of all ages to directly benefit from our programs, events, and financial support. With your continued support, we can look to the future and prepare to welcome a new era when we can come together safely without hesitation.

“I love The Art School because...” There are lots of creative activities to do and it’s fun. Clara, age 7 The teachers are really cool and they have taught me so much! Liam, age 13 I LOVE ART! And I love to put my thoughts and imagination to colors on paper! Avish, age 11 It gives me a medium to explore and display my work. Priti, age 13 The studio space feels like an extension of my home. Téa, age 10 I love all the different classes that are offered! Olivia, age 12 It is teaching me new things. Madison, age 9 The Art School was established in 1974 as a non-profit, nonsectarian cultural resource center. A band of artists and friends seeking to start a community art school saw promise in a local 19th-century church building. Through their hard work and dedication, the group transformed the old church into a center for artistic learning and enrichment. Today, the Art School continues to offer educational and cultural experiences that enrich the quality of life in the local and regional community.
