Welcome to Bass Performance Hall . On behalf of the Performing Arts Fort Worth staff and Board of Directors, I thank you for joining us.
I can’t believe we’re already at the start of another Broadway season. From big name blockbusters to familiar favorites, plus the first ever play in the Broadway series, this 2023-2024 Broadway at the Bass Season presented by PNC Bank is sure to be something incredible.
There are some shows that you never forget your first time seeing, and this one is near the top of my list of core Broadway memories. It gives me great pleasure to welcome nine-time Tony Award® winner The Book of Mormon back to the Bass Hall stage. This no-holds-barred comedy from the creators of South Park has had audiences roaring with laughter since 2011, and we’ve had the privilege of having it here in Fort Worth in 2015 and 2019. I think what I love most about this show is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously and reminds us that sometimes laughter truly is the best medicine. Theater has a way of bringing us all together, no matter what stage or walk of life we come from; there’s just something so magical about not only the shared environment of live theater, but in this case, shared laughter. Whatever your mission in life may be, I hope your time spent in the theater with us brings a smile to your face.
Next up at the Hall, we welcome the Fort Worth premiere of Disney’s Frozen, August 10-20. Then on August 24, Lyle Lovett and his Large Band return as the first show in our 2023-2024 BNSF Popular Entertainment Series. Visit www.basshall.com for more show information and a full list of all the shows currently on sale.
As always, thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for their generous contributions and continued support. Now, let’s get ready to say ‘hello!” as we welcome back The Book of Mormon!
