Honoring Rick Cash

The American Legion World Series family lost a true baseball man with the death of Rickie J. Cash in December 2021.

Cash served the legion in many categories. He was assistant tournament director of the Series, served on the selection committee for the Player Of the Year, coached and served as chairman of Arkansas’legion program.

A U.S. Marine veteran, Cash served the Corps from 1968-72 as a sergeant received a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam.

A true Christian family man, Rick was survived by his wife Jeris, son Mark and daughters Allyson and Sarah and eighth grandchildren. He was an ordained deacon and Bible Study leader in his church.

The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. We can be assured that Rick resides in heaven with the Lord.

Rick’s family attended the 2022 Series as legion and Shelby, North Carolina officials dedicated the Rick J. Cash Memorial Leadership Wall at Keeter Stadium .
