Welcome From the Auxiliary
WELCOME TO Milwaukee
It is my pleasure to welcome all of you to the great state of Wisconsin for the 103rd American Legion National Convention. It is an honor to have you here in Milwaukee! From outdoor recreation to sports entertainment to shopping and dining, Wisconsin has something for everyone. I hope you are able to enjoy the many experiences our state has to offer while you are here.
I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of this event and the work done by The American Legion. As veterans serving veterans, your continued commitment to service and to supporting one another is inspiring. We know that those who are serving today find strength in the unfailing support of veterans like you back home, and I want to offer my sincere thanks for your dedication and hard work. As governor, I am committed not only to honoring our nation’s heroes and recognizing the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served and who are serving today, but to working every day to ensure all veterans have the support and resources they need to be successful in their civilian lives – a mission I know we share.
So, once again, thank you for your service to our nation’s veterans, and thank you for your service to our country. And on behalf of our entire state, welcome to Wisconsin! We are glad to have you here.
Tony Evers Governor, State of Wisconsin
On behalf of the City of Milwaukee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all attendees of the American Legion national convention. We are honored that you chose our city to host this special event.
Milwaukee’s exciting attractions and lively downtown area, combined with its renowned warmth and hospitality, assure all participants of a memorable visit. Be sure to take in the beauty of Milwaukee’s lakefront and our award-winning RiverWalk. You will want to check out the Deer District and the Fiserv Forum, home to the NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks. Along Lake Michigan, the magnificent kinetic “wings” of the Milwaukee Art Museum welcome all to experience its world-class collections.
You will find excellent entertainment options, acclaimed brewery tours, and a tempting array of dining options throughout the city. Don’t miss out on a visit to the one-of-a-kind Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward, featuring a variety of food and beverage options as well as other local products under one roof. The unique neighborhoods and historic avenues of Old World Third Street, Bronzeville, Walker’s Point, Sherman Phoenix, Brady Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive all invite you to experience the city’s rich cultural tradition and diversity.
I hope you have the opportunity to explore Milwaukee and see all our great city has to offer. Best wishes on the success of the American Legion national convention.
