EN The Hungarian guitarist has invited a French jazz lady whose incredible talent is used to dazzling effect in a great many varied, exciting projects. “...We could begin by saying that Gábor Gadó is an exceptional guitarist. But when it comes to his music that would be a major under-statement. It is true that he has admirably assimilated the vocabulary of the great jazz guitarists of the 1970s, such as John Abercrombie and Pat Metheny. But what makes this musician, born in Budapest in 1957, so amazing is the architectural poetry which is constantly updated as an urgent testimony. Of course, Gábor is a guitarist, but above all, he is a composer; not just an author of melodic themes improvised between two performances, he a composer of major works, somewhere between Coltrane’s Offering and the chamber music of David Schnittke and the choirs of Arvo Pärt”.
