A GLANCE AT THIS QUARTER IN THE AVID CITY
01 Media gathered in the middle of the day at City Hall to discuss the leak of the DJ Screw movie preview. The director, family, and close friends involved in the project spoke about the leak and the future plans that are in the works for the project. As of now, there is not a film scheduled to release this year. Stay tuned it will definitely be a film in the near future.

02 Fans spent more than 5 hours in traffic of all directions in Sugar land to get to the Smart Financial Center for the Refuse to Lose Tour for Sarah Jakes Robert. The traffic delayed the show by 2 and 1/2 hours and still packed the center.
03 States all over follow suite in closing states for at least 30 days to help stop the rapid spread of the COVID-19 disease that killed millions all over the world in just a few weeks. Scared residents flooded the stores purchasing cleaning products, water, toiletries, and other essentials.
04 The Young Millionaire Series kicked off in Houston, TX at the Post Oak Hotel. The event was filled with mounds of knowledge, informative break out sessions, and great networking.
05 Due to COVID-19, the Houston Livestock Rodeo closed for the first time. The Houston Rodeo is a huge event for the Houston area students who look forward to the thousands of dollars in scholarships that are given during the rodeo. Country singer Kane Brown was scheduled to perform the night of the cancellation.
06 Tauren Wells album release concert at Lakewood was a fun-filled Wednesday. The energy was on 10 the entire time. Thousands waited in line upstairs after the concert to get Tauren Wells merchandise and autographed CD’S.
07 After being on lockdown for a couple of months due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Tragedy strucked the black com- munity like a wrecking ball. The lives of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd became a fight for the black race. All deaths were unlawful and outraged com- munities all over the United States.
Avid birdwatcher Christian Cooper was asked Amy Cooper to abide by the rules set by Central Park and place her dog on a leash. The simple turned into Amy calling the police to make false statements accusing Christian of threatening her life while he filmed the entire incident.
