FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE
Ein simpler, aber wunderschöner Ausspruch, dem gerade heute leider nicht mehr soviel Aufmerksamkeit zuteil wird, der fast in Vergessenheit geraten ist. Wir jedoch finden, er sollte uns öfter dazu antreiben, mutig zu sein, mutig zu denken und eine mutige Welt zu schaffen – wenigstens für uns selbst. In diesem Sinne möchte „DEM MUTIGEN GEHÖRT DIE WELT“ in Erinnerung rufen, was möglich sein könnte. Es soll ein Stimulus sein, unserer Fantasie und unseren kühnen Träumen zu vertrauen, diese Weisheit zu verinnerlichen und zu leben, statt sie nur zu lesen und darüber nachzudenken. Als wir vor 4 Jahren an dem Konzept für THE BAKERY saßen, war es der Mut, der uns nicht verzagen ließ. Auch die Entscheidung, ein weiteres Büro in Berlin neben dem Gründungsbüro in München zu etablieren, war in gewisser Hinsicht mutig. Denn keine andere Stadt bietet ohnehin diese Fülle an Leuten, die alle irgendwie kreativ sind. Da unser Streben immer dem Leitbild folgt, dass unser Portfolio eine breite Palette und somit viele Möglichkeiten für unsere Kunden bieten soll, waren wir mutig genug, um diese Schritte nach vorne zu wagen. Wir sind glücklich, mit sowohl in kreativer Hinsicht, als auch generell, mutigen Künstlern zusammenzuarbeiten, die uns inspirieren und uns zeigen, wie sie die Welt sehen. Das war auch der Grund dafür, 11 Artists aus unserem Portfolio auszuwählen und sie zu bitten, uns ihre Vision des
Mutig-Seins darzustellen, um sie mit uns allen zu teilen. Wir möchten euch einladen, mit diesem Zine Teil des kreativen Universums von THE BAKERY zu sein und hoffen, es macht euch Freude oder inspiriert euch sogar dazu, selbst ein bisschen mutig zu sein. ○

An easy yet beautiful saying that is no longer given enough attention, almost forgotten. But we think it should encourage us more often to be brave, to think bravely, to create a brave universe – at least for ourselves. Thus "FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE" should be a reminder of what is possible. It should serve as a stimulus to trust our imagination, our brave dreams and to live the saying rather than simply read or think about it. Four years ago when we were developing the concept for THE BAKERY, it was bravery that prevented us from becoming desperate. Further establishing an office in Berlin alongside the founding office in Munich was somehow brave. No other city offers such a population and range of people who are all somehow creative. Having constantly striven to offer a wide range of services in one place, we offered our clients many possibilities and were encouraged to dare making that step forward; we´re happy to work with a lot of creative and brave artists that are inspiring us and showing us their particular versions of the world. That was also a reason to select 11 artists from our collection of portfolios and ask them to present us their vision about being brave and share it with all of us. So we invite you to be part of THE BAKERY´s creative universe with this zine and hope it delights you or even inspires you to be brave yourselves. ○

Mut ist ein Raubtier. Aufmerksam. Hungrig. Wollend. Angetrieben vom Instinkt. Mut ist Puls. Herzschlag. Mut meint auch, neugierig zu sein und sich und seine Fantasie nicht zu beschränken. Mut bedeutet, seinem Herzen und seinen Gefühlen zu vertrauen. Jeder kann mutig sein - wir müssen nur unser Löwen-Herz entdecken.

Bravery can drive you to the starry sky. On the picture we can see both bravery and fear, white and black. They are constantly in opposition in us, but bravery is here the strongest feeling. The white feeling. On the above.
Mut kann dich bis zu den Sternen bringen. Im Bild sieht man sowohl Mut, als auch Angst, Schwarz und Weiß. Sie sind immerzu als gegensätzliche Gefühle in uns, aber Mut ist hier das stärkere Gefühl. Das weiße Gefühl. Ganz oben.
#062 Golo Burnout is considered the new suffering of our modern society - lots of effort but seemingly continuous discouragement. It was once a minor threat, not taken so seriously but is now an effective disguise to hide behind for those choosing to shy away from too much work and pressure. The two layers - order, and the destruction of that order - function as visualisation of the emotional state of affected people.

Burnout gilt als Leiden unserer modernen Gesellschaft - viel leisten, aber scheinbar fortwährende Entmutigung. Früher eher als Androhung: die Flinte ins Korn zu werfen, ist es heute ein oft funktionierender Deckmantel für viele Belastungsunwillige, unter dem es sich "bequem" verstecken lässt. Dies aufgreifend, fungieren die zwei Layer - Ordnung und "Zerstörung" der Ordnung - als Visualisierung der Gemütszustände des Betroffenen.

In meiner Arbeit wird die dokumentarische Dimension in meinem Bild gezielt zugrunde gerichtet. Der Betrachter ist gezwungen, sich auf eine Neuinterpretation des Bildes einzulassen. Für mich als Künstler ist es stets wichtig, die eigene Arbeit zu hinterfragen und auch den Mut zu radikalen Schritten aufzubringen, wie ich es in meiner Serie “DISTORTION” getan habe.
