About Breast Cancer Breast cancer is a type of cancer where cells in the breast tissue divide and grow without normal control. It is a widespread and random disease, striking women and men of all ages and races. It is the most prevalent cancer in the world today, with about 1.3 million people diagnosed annually. The exact cause of the disease is unknown, and at this time, there is no cure.

From The Desk of the Publisher Dear Advertisers & Readers, It’s not often that we get the opportunity to get paid for doing exactly what we would do for free. I’ve been publishing this newspaper for the past five years, and I would do this job for free. It’s with that train of thought that I want to introduce you to the new and improved “His vs. Hers Monthly Publication”. We have been providing a service to the bargain hunting consumers and the businesses that provide these wonderful bargains, and we will continue that tradition within our new paper. The new name of “His vs. Hers” is from the many, many men and women that have picked up our humble newspaper and found something for him and something for her. As you can see, we’ve stepped up to a full-size tabloid publication, and our new focus will now include those stores that are not traditionally priced in the bargain range. However, we will maintain a complete, full size section for our bargain minded readers and shopkeepers. As publisher, I feel this is a great opportunity for me to bring everyone up to speed on our future plans. I’ll start with our wide distribution network. We are currently available in 1300+ locations through the Charleston, SC tri-county area, and we are growing. During the 1st quarter of 2012, we will be expanding our reach into Georgetown, Colleton, Beaufort and Jasper counties.

Woman1: Do you think so? I wasn’t sure when she was gave me the mirror. I mean, you don’t think it’s too fluffy looking? Woman2: Oh God no! No, it’s perfect. I’d love to get my hair cut like that, but I think my face is too wide. I’m pretty much stuck with this stuff I think. Woman1: Are you serious? I think your face is adorable. And you could easily get one of those layer cuts - that would look so cute I think. I was actually going to do that except that I was afraid it would accent my long neck. Woman2: Oh - that’s funny! I would love to have your neck! Anything to take attention away from this two-by-four I have for a shoulder line. Woman1: Are you kidding? I know girls that would love to have your shoulders. Everything drapes so well on you. I mean, look at my arms - see how short they are? If I had your shoulders I could get clothes to fit me so much easier. Men’s version: Man2: Haircut? Man1: Yeah.

Sports - Hunting - Fishing Things You Must Have To Go Deer Hunting

1. Choose Your Weapon To call yourself a deer hunter, you must first have a weapon. Whether you use a gun or a bow, be sure you are within current deer hunting regulations. •Not all gun caliber sizes are legal. •There are certain seasons during the year for specific types of guns (shotgun, muzzle loader, and rifle). •High powered rifles are illegal to hunt deer with in some areas. •There may be a minimum poundage required for a compound bow to deer hunt legally. Check the whitetail hunting regulations for the current year and be sure you are within the guidelines before choosing a weapon and buying ammo.

Quality Firearms, at Affordable Prices, Plus Personal Service. 2. Dress for Success Now that you are armed, it’s time to figure out what to wear. Depending on the time of year you’ll need either lightweight or cold weather gear. There are a few things to remember with hunting clothing when it comes to deer hunting whitetails. •Always check the local forecast for the predicted weather during your hunting hours. •Wash your clothing in a scent free soap to remove any foreign odors. •Layering your clothes is the best way to stay warm (wear one more layer than you need as you can always remove it). •Choose the right camouflage pattern for the terrain you’ll be deer hunting. •Wear gloves and a mask so you blend in and control your scent better. •If necessary, wear or bring along some rain gear to keep dry. •A comfortable pair of hunting boots is extremely important. Hunting clothing can get confusing with windproof, waterproof, scent control, and breathable types all in dozens of different camouflage patterns. Choose what is right for you depending on the conditions and realize that you’ll get better at dressing as you gain whitetail deer hunting experience.

Recalling

1967

In 1967 I was 19 years old and had just joined the Navy. Everything seemed simpler then and life was good. I was stationed in Hawaii, the country was at war. My Navy take home pay was $96.00 each month divided into two $48.00 insults paid to me on the 1st and 15th of each month. In Hawaii the cost of doing anything was high even in 67. So I worked three jobs, nights for the Navy, day’s in a Truss Plant where I saw my first air nail gun, and I pumped gas on Saturday and Sunday. When I look back it was all good. If you were around in 1967 take a look back. I hope that you can also say that it was all good. Please remember that we are all responsible for doing the right things now to ensure that our grandchildren can look back upon their lives and say “it was all good”. Remember what you were doing a few years ago. If you would like to tell others about it please write it down and send it to the paper with a picture from that time. We will try to print one of your stories from time to time. Thank you! Send to His vs Hers, PO Box 40454 Summerville SC. 29485 or email ads@bargainhunterads.com

Venison Sausage Focaccia Grilled sweet peppers, onions, and venison sausage fill this hearty sandwich. If you can’t find venison sausage, use regular sweet Italian sausage. Servings: 6 servings Ingredients 1 medium onion, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices 1/3 cup bottled clear Italian salad dressing 2 red and/or yellow sweet peppers 1 pound uncooked venison sweet Italian sausage links or sweet Italian sausage links (4 to 5 links) 1/3 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing 1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard 1 9-inch desired-flavor focaccia bread, halved horizontally Directions: 1. Brush onion slices with some of the dressing; set aside. Cut tops off peppers and discard. Remove seeds and membranes from peppers. Cut peppers crosswise into 1/4-inch thick slices. Toss pepper slices with remaining salad dressing in a large bowl. 2. For a charcoal grill, arrange mediumhot coals around a drip pan. Test for medium heat over drip pan. Prick sausage links with a fork in several places. Place sausages on grill rack over drip pan and onion slices directly over the coals around edge of grill rack. Cover and grill 10 minutes. Turn sausage and onion slices. Place pepper slices on grill rack directly over the coals. Cover and grill

5 to 15 minutes more, turning peppers once and removing vegetables from the grill when they are crisp-tender. Cook sausages until the internal temperature registers 160 degree F when tested with an instant read thermometer. (For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium high. Add vegetables and sausage to grill as above. Cover and grill as above.) Remove sausages from grill. 3. Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise and mustard; spread on cut sides of focaccia. Bias-slice sausage 1/4-inch thick. Separate onion slices into rings, if necessary. Arrange sausage, peppers, and onions on focaccia bottom. Add focaccia top. Press down gently on focaccia top to slightly compress sandwich. Cut into wedges to serve. Makes 6 servings. To Tote: Place vegetables with dressing in a covered container. Place mayonnaise mixture in a separate covered container. Tote containers with vegetables and mayonnaise mixture and sausage links in an insulated cooler with ice packs. Grill as above at tailgating site.

Halloween and candles go hand-in-hand, make sure that candles used in home decorations are far from little trick-or-treaters. Be prepared for a mishap, know how to treat a burn.

1. Stay visible. Most of the fun on Halloween happens after dark (what fun would daytime Halloween be?). Make sure kids and adults are visible to cars at night. Wear brightly-colored costumes with reflective stripes sewn on. 2. Carry flashlights so kids can see and cars can see them. The more light each little goblin carries, the more visible they are to drivers. 3. Make sure costumes fit well. Kids in ill-fitting costumes are more likely to trip and fall. The worst time for a child to trip would be in the middle of the street as they are trying to cross. Also, to help kids see, try face paint or

make-up instead of masks. 4. Always cross on a corner. Gather the ghouls together in a group and hold hands while crossing the street. It’s easier for drivers to see groups than single kids.

7. Don’t let little ones try to carve their own pumpkins. Carving the Halloween gourd is Mom or Dad’s job. The little ones can help make the design. Kids can also clean out the ooey-gooey middle of the pumpkin. Or, skip the cutting all together and paint the outside of a whole pumpkin.

5. Only allow appropriate shoes. Oversized clown shoes or adult high-heels are hard for little feet to negotiate and can be dangerous.

8. Be sure any costume props are flexible and not sharp. Mini swashbucklers like to have swordfights; it’s better if the swords don’t actually puncture Tinkerbell. Also, if the little devil falls while running, he won’t get impaled by his pitchfork.

6.Use fire smarts. Opt for costumes made of flame-resistant material. As

9. Just because it is Halloween doesn’t mean the kids shouldn’t follow the

same basic rules as every other day. Rules on crossing the street and going with strangers can be forgotten during the commotion of trick-or-treating; review the rules with the kids. Each group of kids should be supervised and each chaperone should keep a list of what each trick-or-treater is wearing. 10. Inspect the bag of goodies before letting the kids dig in. Make sure wrappers are on candy and have not been opened. Examine and wash any fruit before eating it. 11. Make sure each group has a cell phone in case they need to call 911. Understand how to call 911 from a cell phone.

Dear Terrorists, I Am Coming! I am a Navy Aviator. I was born and raised in a small town in New England . I come from a family of five. I was raised in a middle class home and taught my values by my mother and father. My dad worked a series of jobs in finance and my mom took care of us kids. We were not an overly religious family but attended church most Sundays. It was a nice small Episcopal Church. I have a brother and sister and I am the youngest in my family. I was the first in many generations to attend college. I have flown Naval aircraft for 16 years. For me the flying was never a lifelong dream or a 'calling,' it just happened. I needed a job and I liked the challenge. I continue to do it today because I feel it is important to give back to a nation which has given so much to me. I do it because, although I will never be rich, my family will be comfortable. I do it because many of my friends have left for the airlines and someone has to do it. My government has spent millions to train me to fly these multi-million dollar aircraft. I make about 70,000 dollars a year and after 20 years will be offered a pension. I like baseball but think the players make too much money. I am in awe of firemen and policemen and what they do each day for my community, and like teachers, they just don't get paid enough. I respect my elders and always use sir or ma'am when addressing a stranger. I'm not sure about

kids these days but I think that's normal for every generation. I tell you all this because when I come for you, I want you to know me. I won't be hiding behind a woman or a child. I won't be disguised or pretending to be something I am not. I will be in a U.S. issue flight suit. I will be wearing standard US issue flight gear, and I will be flying a navy aircraft clearly marked as a US warplane. I wish we could meet up close in a small room where I could wrap my hands around your throat and slowly squeeze the life out of you, but unfortunately, you're hiding in a hole in the ground, so we will have to do this a different way. I want you to know also that I am very good at what I do. I can put a 2,000 lb. weapon through a window from 10,000 feet up. I generally only fly at night, so you may want to start sleeping during the day. I am not eager to die for my country but I am willing to sacrifice my life to protect it from animals like you. I will do everything in my power to ensure no civilians are hurt as I take aim at you. My countrymen are a forgiving bunch. Many are already forgetting what you did on Sept 11th. But I will not forget!! I am coming. I hope you know me a little bit better, see you soon...sleep tight. Signed A U.S. Navy Pilot Our Armed Forces are one of our greatest assets! God Bless
