Allie Murphy's go-to BEAUTY ROUTINE

LOCAL REALTOR AND WELLNESS ENTHUSIAST SHARES HER GO-TO BEAUTY PRODUCTS AND TIPS FOR THRIVING IN A BUSY WORLD

Beauty, to me, is not just about what you look like on the outside. It’s how you feel physically from within, and the way we feel inside is so important to our quality of life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with fashion and beauty products. It wasn’t until later in life that my love for skincare, nutrition, health and wellness came along. Growing up, I was super active and heavily involved in different sports. I loved being busy and always having something to do. But in my late teens/early 20s, my health definitely took a backseat.

In 2016, I was working full-time for a medical company specializing in hormone replacement therapy, and working part-time at a cycle studio in Dallas. Between the two, my love for fitness, nutrition and health grew. I was learning about how I could balance my hormones through diet and exercise, which was all very fascinating to me. That’s when I really took hold of my health.

Fast forward to today, I’m a mom, a wife and a Realtor — and much like when I was a teen, I feel like I thrive in a busy environment. Which is why it’s so important for me to have a morning and nighttime routine to help me assess the day ahead or wind down from a crazy one.

I always give myself 30-45 minutes in the morning to just sit and be with my thoughts. This is an absolute non-negotiable for me. I start out with my green gut shot, and then enjoy a cup of coffee while I check emails, watch the news or plan out my day. Most days, if I’m not meeting with clients, I like to go makeup-free to let my skin breathe. I’ll do my morning skincare routine, add some tinted SPF and I’m good to go.

As for nighttime, a hot bath or shower is a must. It’s so nice to wash the day away and decompress. No matter how tired I am, I never go a night without cleansing my face or doing my skincare routine.

Green Gut Glow

I never go a morning without my gut shot. This 4-oz drink is a beautiful mashup of superfood greens and a microbiome supplement that contains prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes. I have it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Available at Arbonne.com

Revision Brightening Facial Wash

This cleanser is a favorite of mine; it gently exfoliates to remove dead skin cells and improve texture. It’s a little pricey for a cleanser, but one bottle lasts me about 6 months. So worth it! Available at Corpus Christi Institute of Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery

Barefaced Liquid Gold Serum

I’m no doctor, but everyone could benefit from using a Vitamin C serum. This one in particular is amazing because it is coconut-based instead of water-based for maximum hydration. Available at Barefaced.com

Barefaced Hydrating Lotion

I made the switch to medical-grade skincare a couple of years ago and this is one of my favorite moisturizers I’ve tried — but there are so many good ones out there, medical grade or not. Available at Barefaced.com

Supergoop Glow Screen

Everyone should be wearing an SPF in my opinion, especially living in South Texas. I love how light and dewy this one is. I’ll wear it under my makeup or on its own. Available at Coastal Closet & Julian Gold

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Matte Foundation

I have tried a ton of different foundations, but I always come back to this one. It’s lightweight, full coverage and lasting. Available at Sephora

MAC Lip Pencil / Matte Lipstick

When I’m wearing a full face of makeup, a pinky-nude lip is my go-to. I always find myself reaching for this duo-lip pencil in “Whirl” and lipstick in “Honeylove.” Available at MAC

A Good Night’s Rest

They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing! This one is self-explanatory. After I put my daughter down for bed at 7:30 p.m., I get in bed as well. (Most people are shocked when I tell them this. And hey, it’s not for everyone; I get it!) This is the time when my husband and I just relax and talk about our days, or catch up on shows we’re watching. My phone automatically goes on DND at 9 p.m., and I’m usually out shortly after so that I can get a full 8-9 hours of sleep.
