Behind the Cover › In 2020, we launched the Sylvan Marine Make Great Memories Photo Contest, where Sylvan pontoon owners had the opportunity to share their best memories captured on the water. A CONSTRUCTED FOR ENDURANCE ¾", 7-ply pressure treated plywood is through-bolted and screwed to the hat channels to create the strongest seams in the industry.

B HAT-CHANNEL CONSTRUCTION How does Sylvan build the widest base in the industry without adding extra weight? We use strength points of “heavy” .250"-gauge (shown) and .125"-gauge (standard), 6"-wide aluminum hat channels and secure them by spreading 8 bolts across 6" deck risers. We combine that with a .190"-gauge aluminum transom, through-bolted with up to 20 bolts, and footed deck risers that eliminate tube fatigue. We’re so confident that our construction is the best that we back it with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

We back our fence and railing with foam to prevent rattling, but only after fully welding and anodizing every joint. Once a weld is anodized, it is never painted. Every foot of fence and railing is backed by a 6-year warranty.

F D THRU-BOLTED TRANSOM Sylvan transoms are made from aluminum gauges as heavy as .190" and are supported with up to 20 stainless steel bolts— all to handle today’s higher horsepower engines.

E AIR-TIGHT CONSTRUCTION Our tubes feature air-tight construction with a completely welded-in baffle at each chamber, plus a drain at the bottom. A drain plug at the rear of the tube allows water to be completely removed from the tube if necessary.

F 4-POINT DECK-TO-HULL FUSION Every Sylvan deck bracket is fused to the tube at four points to increase the contact area with the tube. Besides increasing strength and support, four-point fusion reduces frame twist and racking in rough water and helps prevent tube fatigue.
